Adrian walked out with a troubled mind, why was Ivy employed? Isn't she a prostitute?
He had seen her almost getting into serious trouble with a loan shark. Anyways he was determined to fire her,no one should smeer Wintershall Builders with a bad name.
"Adrian!"
He heard Xavier called him and he groaned, he knew Xavier would tease him for failing to get Emma on board with them.
"Xavier, if you're here to tease me just back off" Adrian said seriously
"Take it easy, I just wanted to ask what kept you so long in the conference room "
"I was taking care of something important "
"W...." Xavier suspended his hands in the air before turning to Adrian sharply.
"You were taking care of her?" He asked as he saw Ivy come out of the room, immediately after Adrian did.
Adrian walked away without replying him.
Ivy stood dazed as she watched Adrian walk out of her sight.
"And I thought he was nice" she grumpily said as she adjusted her gown before going to the elevator.
Xavier still kept pestering Adrian till they got to his office.
"Xavier, I have a job for you" Adrian said seriously
"What's that?"
"Find out everything you can about the new virtual assistant"
"About Ivy?"
Adrian didn't say a word again, he was a man of few words and he was sure Xavier got his message.
Xavier frowned, Adrian never had to run a background check on someone except the person gave him a reason to.
"I'd be away for a week, give me a reply when I come back" Adrian ordered before going to see his grandfather.
**The WTB OFFICE
Ivy was led to a large room with blocks of office, she was given the office number 13. As she walked around to find her space, she felt the gawking eyes of her colleagues on her.
"Hello" a young man approached her, stretching his hands for a warm shake.
"Hi" Ivy replied with a smile as she sat on the chair
"Girl, you're so beautiful" the man complimented her. Ivy was stunned , looking at the man - he was bi, so she decided not to read a meaning to his compliment
"I'm James Olsen by the way"
"I'm Ivy"
"Yeah, I know. Everyone here knows you Ivy"
She looked around in shock, the people had an expression she couldn't explain.
"How do you all know me?" Ivy asked
"Why won't we know the savior of our company? We heard you saved Sir Lucas from getting scammed" James whispered the later part
"Ohhh" Ivy trailed off, she wondered what they all thought about her. "They might see me as an opportunist. Whatever!" she rolled her eyes as she placed her bag and started arranging her desk.
"Hey James,hey newbie" a young blonde hair girl walk to James and Ivy, she walked to desk 14 and sat on the chair.
"Hi"Ivy replied.
"Catherine Williams" the blonde hair girl replied. She got along well with Ivy and James, they also gave Ivy all the necessary information she needed to know about the company.
"It's lunch time, you're coming?" James asked Ivy
"No, I still have some things to do"
Catherine and James left her to the cafeteria while Ivy took out her phone to answer Flynn's call and also brief her about her first day at work.
After ending the call with Flynn, she went to the internet to search about Adrian Wintershall, she furrowed her brows when Adrian had no picture on the internet.
"What the hell! Is he that mysterious not to have a picture online?" She muttered to herself not realizing that Xavier was already infront of her.
"Miss Montes" he gently called her
"Oh Sir" Ivy quickly stood up, keeping her phone on the desk. Xavier looked into the phone and he wore a smirk when he saw the search bar content, "photos of Adrian Wintershall".
Ivy noticed his eyes stucked on her phone and she hurriedly picked the phone up from the desk with an awkward smile.
"Uhm, Miss Montes, since you're in charge of the task Boss Adrian gave you, everything you'd be needing to make your task a success, come to me directly for it"
"What?" Ivy was surprised, she thought she'd have to do everything alone without help from the company.
"Are you serious Sir Xavier?" Ivy asked looking straight into his eyes, as if waiting for the best answer.
"Yes, I am" Xavier replied with a chuckle
"Oh, thank you so much Sir. I appreciate your kind gesture"
He smiled and walked away. "So she was also looking into Adrian's file". "Hehe, Adrian would be so mad if he finds out "
Adrian knocked once on the golden door before entering.
"Dad! Grandpa!" He greeted as he strolled to them
"Talk of the devil, Lucas " Old man Wintershall said as he watched his grandson walk up to him. "I and your Dad were just discussing about you" Greg added
Adrian wore a displeased look immediately, he knew what his grandpa was talking about. They want him to get married soon.
"I think I've found the right woman for you"
"Grandpa!!….."
"She's smart, talented, fearless and beautiful. She'd be a great asset to you, Adrian" Greg said
"I'm not interested " Adrian said seriously
"Then I guess you're not interested in getting your inheritance "
"Dad!!" Adrian looked at Lucas for support but Lucas refused to interfere.
"You know you're cousins are also interested"
"You haven't even heard her name before rejecting the offer"
"Who's she?"
"Ivy Montes "
"What??!!!" Adrian exclaimed in extreme shock.
