The moon hung high over the city, its pale light casting long shadows across the ruins of the industrial skyscraper. The remnants of their previous clash echoed in the distance: shattered steel, burning debris, and faint tremors from where the space elevator had been rendered unstable. Jared stood at the center of it all, his chest heaving, his red eyes glowing faintly as he scanned the area for his rival.
Super Light's afterimages flickered in and out of view, darting between the wreckage like the taunting grin of a ghost. His laughter rang out, mocking and distant.
"Jared, Jared, Jared," Super Light's voice echoed. "Still chasing me? You should know by now—you'll never keep up!"
Jared's knuckles cracked as he clenched his fists. The air around him rippled with raw energy, his resolve sharpening into something indomitable. He had chased this man through the labyrinth of the city, up the heavens, and now back down to this desolate battleground. Enough was enough.
"This ends now douchebag!" Jared muttered, his voice low but seething with power.
Super Light's form materialized for a split second behind him, delivering a swift kick aimed at Jared's back. Jared, anticipating the move, spun with lightning speed, catching Super Light's leg mid-kick. The impact reverberated through the air, sending a shockwave that shattered nearby windows.
"I'm done playing games!" Jared growled.
Super Light's smirk faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered. With a burst of speed, he twisted out of Jared's grip and somersaulted backward, landing gracefully on a fallen steel beam. His cocky demeanor returned as he brushed dust off his jacket.
"Big words from a guy still ranked in the triple digits!" Super Light quipped. "You think you're strong just because you've got a flashy light show in your eyes?"
Jared didn't respond. He crouched slightly, his body coiled like a spring ready to explode. The air grew tense, the silence between them broken only by the distant hum of damaged machinery.
Super Light made the first move, darting forward with blinding speed. His afterimages trailed behind him, creating a kaleidoscope of shifting forms that surrounded Jared. Each image delivered a punch, a kick, or a jab, their combined force driving Jared back.
"*You're too slow!*" Super Light taunted, his voice coming from every direction.
Jared gritted his teeth, his body absorbing each hit. He planted his feet firmly, his red eyes scanning the flurry of motion. Then, in a flash, he struck. His fist collided with one of the afterimages, dispelling it into nothingness.
"Found you." Jared said with a smirk.
Super Light's real form stumbled backward, clutching his side where Jared had landed the blow. He snarled, his confidence wavering.
"You're faster than I thought," he admitted. "But let's see how you handle this!"
Super Light erupted into a burst of speed, his afterimages multiplying until they filled the entire battlefield. Jared stood at the center, surrounded on all sides by flickering copies of his rival.
Jared closed his eyes, tuning out the distractions. He focused on the rhythm of the battlefield. the subtle shifts in the wind, the faint sound of Super Light's footsteps, the crackle of energy in the air. Then, with a roar, he unleashed his power.
His red eyes glowed brighter than ever, illuminating the area like twin suns. Waves of energy radiated from his body, obliterating the afterimages one by one. Super Light's real form became visible amidst the chaos, his face twisted in shock as Jared charged toward him.
The ground cracked beneath Jared's feet as he lunged forward, his fist connecting with Super Light's chest. The impact sent Super Light hurtling backward, crashing through a concrete wall and skidding across the ground.
"Is that all you've got?" Jared asked, his voice calm but filled with menace.
Super Light struggled to his feet, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. His cocky grin was gone, replaced by a look of desperation.
"No… I'm not done yet!" he shouted, summoning every ounce of his speed.
The two villains collided in a blur of motion, their movements too fast for the human eye to follow. Fists met fists, kicks met kicks, and the air around them crackled with the force of their battle. Each clash sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield, reducing the surrounding structures to rubble.
Super Light began to falter, his movements growing sluggish. Jared, fueled by his relentless determination, pressed the advantage. With every blow he landed, Super Light's confidence eroded further.
"You can't beat me!" Super Light screamed, his voice filled with panic. "You're too slow!-"
Jared grabbed Super Light by the collar, lifting him off the ground. His red eyes bore into his rival's, unrelenting and unforgiving.
"Speed isn't everything," Jared said, his voice cold. "You rely on running, but you've got nowhere left to run."
With a final, devastating punch, Jared sent Super Light flying into the air. Crashing out of the skyscraper, The villain's body arced through the sky before crashing into the ground with a resounding thud.
[The End of Super Light]
Super Light lay motionless in the crater, his once-flawless suit torn and bloodied. He struggled to lift his head, his eyes filled with disbelief.
"How… How did you…" he began, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jared stood over him, his silhouette towering against the moonlight.
"Because I don't run," Jared replied. "Im not a coward like you, douchebag."
Super Light let out a weak laugh, the sound hollow and bitter. "Guess… you're not as weak as I thought...."
"...Fuck you..."
With those final words, Super Light's body went limp, his once-flashy energy fading into nothingness. As his nose bleeds out..
Jared turned away from the fallen villain, his red eyes dimming as he regained control of himself. The battlefield was silent now, the chaos of the chase and the duel finally over.
Kaia's voice was heard nearby, Jared then turns to look at her with a smile.
"Jared, are you okay?" she asked, her tone filled with worry.
"I'm fine," Jared replied, his voice steady. "Super Light's done. He won't be bothering anyone anymore."
Kaia let out a relieved sigh. "Good. Let's go to the gym. You need to rest."
Jared glanced down at Super Light's broken form one last time before walking away.
"This is just the beginning," Jared muttered to himself, his resolve stronger than ever. "If I'm going to reach the top, I can't stop now."
As he disappeared into the night, the city began to stir, the aftermath of the battle leaving an indelible mark on its skyline. And in the shadows, far above, on a building..Grunmalan watched with interest, in his samurai uniform, his samurai blade glinting in the moonlight with blue flames.
"Impressive," the CEO murmured. "But progress.."
