The people around him seem indifferent, just glancing flatly like they don't care about Adanu Raksa's fate.
But not Cakara, who looks so shocked by what Agra is about to do. Without wasting any time, he immediately hits Agra's back with an open palm.
Bam!!!
"Ahack!"
All the people around Agra cover their faces due to the shock. The hit is so strong that blood spurts out of Agra's mouth. The man is flung so hard and so far until he hits the wooden wall and breaks it.
Cakara's men are stunned and confused, while Hasya looks so scared and worried about Agra's fate. At least, that man is still alive, but clearly he is not okay at all.
"Cough, cough! Ptuh!" Agra spits blood from his mouth, still writhing in pain on the floor. "What was that for? You used that much power to hit me from the back. You want to kill me?"
Cakara turns silent for a moment, looking a bit guilty with what he has done. Truth to be told, he was forced to pull out his kanuragan because Agra's sword was so close to hitting Adanu Raksa's head.
"I knew you wouldn't die. And I don't want you to kill the kid," Cakara replies.
"Son of a bitch!" Agra rebukes. "You went that far just to protect that damn kid? Have you gone nuts? Why? Is the kid that important to you? You should know his condition, and what kind of danger he will bring to our group!"
"I'm the boss here! If you don't like it, you can leave," Cakara argues coldly before he walks away. "Hasya! Go prepare warm water and treat the kid's fever!"
"What about Yodha and the others?" Hasya asks by reaching out his right hand toward the four unconscious dudes.
"They will be fine after a night of sleep!" Cakara replies without looking back, and gets out of the room.
Meanwhile Agra, after struggling to get up, vents out his anger by causing more damage to the wooden wall and then walks out through that broken wall.
Hasya goes back to the kitchen to prepare some warm water. He sits there alone thinking about Cakara and Agra.
The two men have been together for quite some time, even before they both initiated the founding of The Band of the Enchanted Dagger.
Hasya, who joined the last, knows well enough about their past. And all of that is now ruined just because of the presence of Adanu Raksa.
This had never happened before. Even when Agra refuses to accept Hasya's existence in the group, Cakara has never defended him that far.
Somehow, Jealousy flares up in his heart again. He has idolized Cakara since the first time the man saved his life. And now he feels that his place is going to be replaced by Adanu Raksa.
To make things worse for him, he has to tend to Adanu Raksa's fever for the whole night. How could it not be? Adanu Raksa doesn't stop delirious while convulsing all night long, with a fever that is not going down.
"No! Don't hurt her!"
"Please, stop!"
"Don't hurt my mom!"
Seeing him begging and suffering like that, sympathy begins to grow in Hasya's heart. He keeps tending him all night, until then…
"Wooohoo! It's such a big catch after so long!"
"With this much loot, we can buy quite a lot of weapons and switch professions to mercenaries!"
The excitement of the bandits outside jolts Hasya from his sleep. She gets up and looks towards the part of the wall that Agra has destroyed. It turns out that it is already noon.
He also finds that Yodha and the three men who fainted last night are no longer there with him. Now he is the only one left with Adanu Raksa who already looks so calm.
Curious, he puts his palm on Adanu Raksa's forehead, and then...
"Ng?"
Adanu Raksa slowly opens his eyes. As his blurry vision is getting clearer, he finds two beautiful eyes with peaceful gaze soothing his heart.
Somehow, he feels so awkward for having such a beauty so close in front of his face. Hence, he immediately pushes himself away with his feet.
"Are you okay?" Hasya asks. "No need to be afraid! My name is Hasya! There's no way I'm going to hurt you after treating your fever the whole night."
"Eh?" Adanu Raksa looks so confused.
He finds the one in front of him having a beautiful face and eyes like a girl. But Hasya's tone of speaking, the clothes, the way Hasya wraps his head with a cloth like a farmer, and also his name, everything leads Adanu Raksa to the conclusion that he is looking at a boy.
"Where am I?" Adanu Raksa asks while trying to avert his attention away from Hasya's beautiful eyes. "Whose house is this? What happened to that wall? Hold on! How did I get here?"
Hasya likes to ease Adanu Raksa's worry. However, he suddenly hears Cakara's voice outside. And it seems like Cakara is angry about something and is currently arguing so hard with Agra.
Curious and worried, he rushes out of the room through the destroyed wall. "Just go back to rest! I'll bring you some food later!"
But it seems like Adanu Raksa has gained some interest in Hasya's unique figure. He is curious whether Hasya is really a boy or not.
So he leaves that bamboo bed, and then peeks secretly. To his surprise, there are so many scary faces out there, such a contrast to the beauty of Hasya's face.
"How many times have I told you? Just take their stuff without killing anyone!" Cakara is currently so mad. But at least, Adanu Raksa still finds him to be a good man with a handsome young face.
In contrast to Cakara, Agra looks so intimidating, having a thick beard and a scar on his left cheek. "Stop acting so sanctimonious! We are mountain bandits! You think they would just sit there while we took their stuff. They'd definitely try to hunt us down. Killing them was the safest option."
"But is there the need to go that far?" Cakara argues desperately. "Killing the women? Even the kids? All this time we could do it safely because the Chakradwipa kingdom never cared about our existence. But you've gone too far! There's no way they'll just keep quiet about this!"
"No need to worry about that," Agra ignores him and walks away. "We've thrown their dead bodies into the woods. No one is going to find them!"
Terrified, Adanu Raksa immediately gets down, hiding behind woven chicken baskets. He looks so scared, gulping with a pale face.
"Mom! Help me! I'm being kidnapped by mountain bandits!"
