Chapter 21 - The Devil's Kris

On their way to get to Adanu Raksa, a few of the malevolent spirits penetrate Yodha's body. The big man clutches his head, and starts groaning in pain.

"Yodha!" Hasya calls with a terrified face.

"Go quickly!" Yodha exclaims, holding the pressure in his mind as more evil spirits penetrate his body. "I can't do anything with these veil creatures. Bring Cakara here, and…"

Soon, Yodha can no longer bear the mental pressure on his head. His life force continues to be sucked out by the evil spirits as they penetrate his body, until he finally collapses unconscious.

"Cakara!" Still looking terrified, Hasya can only mumbles without being able to move his trembling knees.

A moment later, just as he is able to stand, a man grabs the back of his clothes from behind. Roughly, that man pulls and throws Hasya away.

"Get the fuck out of here, you coward!"

It's Agra, the man who is never happy with Hasya's presence. There are also three other people, who rush to follow Agra into Cakara's room.

All of them act so ferociously, like lions ready to pounce on their prey. However, just as they see the condition of the room, the three men are stunned near the door, stunned with fear seeing dozens of evil spirits floating and rumbling above Adanu Raksa.

"Yodha!"

One of them is gasped by the sight of Yodha lying on the floor. Without thinking much, he rushes inside to help his fallen comrade.

Two other men follow behind, swinging their swords to keep the evil spirits away. But in the end, these three men suffer the same fate as Yodha.

Meanwhile, Agra is still standing near the door, completely lacking the courage to go deeper after seeing what happened to his friends.

"Why are you just standing there?" Hasya snaps.

But Agra does not respond at all. He looks so confused not knowing what to do. Clearly he is scared, but he doesn't run away either because those malevolent spirits don't care about his present.

It just so happens that an evil spirit passes in front of him after penetrating the wall. Surprised, he simply swings his sword. And of course, the sword only goes through when it hits the evil spirit.

"They are ghosts! There's no way we can hurt them!" He mutters with trembling lips.

There's an urge to run away. But he can't even move his legs. Annoyed, Hasya collects his courage and goes back into the room without bringing any weapons.

"Do something, damn it!"

Suddenly Cakara appears and hugs Hasya from behind, preventing him from going back into the room.

"Cakara! Please do something! Yodha and the others are..."

"Easy!" Cakara soothes Hasya's anxiety by giving him a sweet smile. "They will be okay! As long as you don't get too close to those spirits, they won't hurt you."

Hasya looks a little confused. But his fear and worry immediately disappears as he sees Cakara walking so calmly into his room.

After taking the time to pat the frightened Agra on the shoulder, Cakara draws his weapon, a short Damascus black sword with a unique motive on its sides.

As if to satisfy his curiosity, he tries to slash the sword at several evil spirits floating near him. But like before, the attack just passes through them.

"So it's true! Spirit creatures like them can't be harmed by ordinary physical attacks! Maybe this is a good opportunity to test my ability in using spirit energy!"

He holds his short sword with both hands, and tightens his grips. Soon, after increasing his concentration for a moment, a white plasma-like aura begins to flow from his hands to the sword.

This white plasma-like aura wavers for a moment, and is then slowly solidified shrouding the entire sword. With a face full of confidence, he swings the sword at several spirit creatures that have their mouths attached to Adanu Raksa's left leg.

It's just a light swing, and those evil spirits immediately scream in pain. And soon, their spirit bodies, which have been severed by Cakara's stroke, slowly losing its stability and shape and then disappear into the thin air.

"It's working!"

Agra, who doesn't know anything, naively tries to swing his sword again. Unbeknownst to him, the other evil spirits are now looking so fierce after realizing what Cakara has just done to their friends.

"You lowly human!"

"How dare you ruin our feast?"

"Do you have any idea how long we have been waiting for this chance?!"

Cakara deftly pulls Agra from behind to save him. Unfortunately, some spirits manage to touch his right arm and steal a small portion of his life force.

And soon, that right arm immediately goes limp. Let alone using his spirit energy to fight those evil spirits, Cakara is no longer even able to lift his sword.

"Cakara! Let's leave this place now!" Agra invites.

"What about that kid?" Cakara argues.

"Just ignore him! I don't know where you found that damned kid, but I bet these evil spirits came for him."

A moment later, Cakara's sword slips off his hand. "Shiit! My right arm has gone numb!"

Most of the evil spirits return to swarm Adanu Raksa's left leg. There Cakara realizes that something is wrong with Adanu Raksa.

However, he can't approach Adanu Raksa at all because a few of the evil spirits still seem agitated by his presence.

"Go away!"

"Your stinky soul is nothing compared to what this brat has!"

Even so, they still try to pass through Cakara's body to weaken him. Cornered, Cakara instinctively pulls out a dagger from his waist with his left hand.

It is the king's royal dagger that he took from Bramasti before. Miraculously, even without exerting any kanuragan or his spirit energy, Cakara manages to injure the evil spirits by using this dagger.

Again, they scream in pain and then disappear. The other evil spirits look so shocked with such frightened faces. Their reactions are much more serious than when Cakara used his sword.

"The Devil's Kris!"

"How did he get that damned dagger?"

"He is even able to wield it with ease!"

"Who is this young human?"

"No! This must be the devil's trap! Get away from this place!"

"Forget about the kid! It's not worth it!"

"Leave this place before he makes you an offering to the devil!"
