Chapter 4 - being a baby sucks

Two main things had heppend in the 3 months since Alex had been born, firstly, his talent was tested and he was officaly known as 'the little monster'. He stoped hiding the fact he was no longer crippled soon before he was born as he thought that if he was seen as some heaven sent genus there would be no chance for the advisor to kill him in the crib and it seemed to have worked.

Secondly, the statuses and traits ge had gained during this period. For statuses he had,

[Satiated: a fine meal has filled your stomach. Minor boost to stamina and vitality regeneration.] He gained this from the same source as the next one.

[Fed by mother: a nuriting meal from your mother. Minor boost to basic stat growth, Minor boost to stamina and vitality regeneration. ] ...Don't ask.

[Good medicine: above average quality medicines have been fed to you: small boost to vitality, minor boost to basic stat growth, minor boost to body cultivation speed.] This one was from a medicine bath he was given.

he made all three permanent for 150 points total, luckily his source of points had grown a little since he was handed around to several nurses and other family members, alowing him to give them the [parasite host] status, unlikely he had to modify it to lower the hunger gain, but a few extra points invested in increasing the efficiency helped. He now gained 1 exchange point per 4 houres per person at a 10 percent hunger increace.

After making the traits permenent he had 300 points left over. Speaking of traits.

[Qi guidence(foundation building 3rd tier): a nascent stream of guiding Qi is helping your meridians grow. Cultivation talent minorly increased depending on duration and level of guidance before cultivation is started, Qi capacity increased over time, difficulty of controlling Qi reduced over time.]

This one was thanks to his father, pretty sure he was ment to get this from the advisor if he did his job right, luckily his dear papa gave him the real deal.

[Boiling blood: a rare mixture of herbs and medicines has been given to enhance your blood. Minor increase to body cultivation talent depending on duration, minor increase to vitality, minor increace to vitality regeneration.]

Despite its name it was more like a mild warmth, like a flufy blanket.

[Blessed by the earth: your talent has been noticed by the earth and as such you have been given her blessing: massive increase to all phisical regeneration, major increase to basic stats effectiveness, major increace to body cultivation, slight increase to cultivation talent, slight increase to advanced stats effectiveness, the earth smiles apon you.]

He didn't quite know what that last one meant but he did know that this was the benefit of all his foundation boosting affects, he was very happy with this though, it was even permenent when he got it. Next one wasn't though, it's why he has so few points even after three months with 12 hosts.

[Child of heaven: your talent has been noticed by the hevens, and as such they have graciously gifted you a boon. tribulations are now three times harder, every tribulation passed increases talent dependent on tribulation difficulty, massive boost to all mysical regeneration, cultivation talent comprehension and learning speed are greatly increased, enlightenment is slightly less rare.]

At first he thought this was just a joke, 3 times harder tribulations? Why would he want that? But when he saw the part about increased talent per tribulation, he imidiatly made it permenent despite its stupid cost. The boosts and enlightenment where just a bonus, he still had an enlightenment yet however, which was annoying. if it counted as a status he would do just about anything to make it permanent.

Currently he was laying in his cot bored out of his mind as he let his split minds learn and practise his diffrent techniques. He couldn't do anything else on amount of being a baby. For now, he just had to lay down and let precious resources be used to increase his talent even further while he was bored out of his mind even further.

'Sigh, what do I even do now? I can't body forge untill I'm 8 and I can't cultivate untill I'm 10, I can't even learn other things for another 3 years. why couldn't I have just gotten isekai'd? Sigh' while Alex was lamenting his great fortune, he continued his curent favourite pass time, observing the clouds while waiting for whenever his next meal or medicine bath was.

What he was actually trying to do was create a technique without the use of the system, partly to see if he could, partly to sacrifice it for points, maybe upgrade it if he felt like it was worth it.

'What should I try today. Movement technique maybe? Nah, to cliche. Foundational? Nah, I got enough. Fuck it, how about a purely cosmetic technique? Like one that makes me look better or gives me some kind of noble aura? Why not, sounds fun.'

Focusing back on the clouds he tried to understand ther innocent and merry nature as they flowed across the clear sky. 'Huh. This is, surprisingly easy? All I need to do is just...'

[Congratulations host for creating the technique [sky like bearing and cloud like appearance: when used creates a noble but detached aura while giving the host a cloud like appearance, permanently gives white hair and blue eyes as well as a doll like skin complexion.] You have been awarded the title: [young daoist saint: a title given to the host for creating his own technique before even starting cultivation. Great increace in ease of learning, modifying, evolving and evolving techniques, great increase in cultivation talent, enlightenment is slightly less rare].]

'Huh, well would you look at that? Gonna sacrifice the technique anyway, but I'll keep the knowlage of how it was made.'

[Knowlage of the usage of technique [sky like bearing and cloud like appearance] has been exchanged. Damaged exchange system has caused point gain to become 1. Total points: 301.]

'The fuck? Are you kidding me? One? I get 1 point every 23 minutes for free and you give me 1 point for a custom made technique? Sigh, not like I can do anything about it, might as well try to make a better one.'

After five more techniques and 5 more points, Alex managed to create [form of the cloud immortal: this technique develops a cloud imortal like aperance and aura over time.]

This one he had kept, he was quite happy with it and planed to modify it as time went on, kind of like a passion project. For now though, it was time to address the elephant in the room, or rather, the snake. 'System, bind the snake in place.'

[6 exchange points have been spent to bind snake in place.]

'Good, now. Create a growth type beast taming technique that creates a separate space to rase pets, increace growth speed of pets, nurture pets, and gives a downgraded effect of my positive statuses and traits to pets. Use all curent points.'

[Spending all curent points to create custom technique. Desired outcome does not fit in to technique or spell category, creating sub category [system skills], sub category successful, creating skill, successful, exchange unefected.]

[Beast taming: grants host acsess to a sub-world designed to nurture tamed beast's, beast's are granted increased growth and nurturing as well as downgraded versions of hosts curent positive statuses and traits. Also grants the host the ability to tame beats. Effects and world can be upgraded with points. Curent skill status: beats slots: 1

Growth speed: 150% curent world base

Nurturing effects: talent increas, bloodline purification, cultivation assistance.

Status and trait effect: 10%]

Sparing a moment to admire the new and powerful addition to his roster, Alex aimed the skill at the snake as it coiled up to strike him. 'Gotcha'

[Beats captured. Curent master disconnected.

Beast status:

Name: none

Bloodline: lesser emerald scaled serpent

Cultivation: bloodline refining tier 2

Strength: 14

Speed: 20

Dexterity: 20

Constatution: 8

Vitality: 14

Spirit: 1

Resistance: 8

Traits: [poison fangs]

Statuses: [being nurtured by sub world(conditional)]

Bloodline Abilities: none]

'Damn those are some stats. And disconnected from the previous owner Huh? I'll bet 50 points it's that damn advisor. Not like I can do anything though because I'm still a damn baby, look on the bright side, I have plenty of time to build up some power.'

Relaxing into his cot, Alex went back to creating various techniques, this time he based them off the surrounding nature. 'Wait, what if I make a technique that speeds up my growth? I could just use my stored biomass and my [fetus] trait to speed up my development. Then I wouldn't have to wait as long! Yes!'

Emboldened by the idea of not having to lay in a cot all day, he got to creating.

[Bark like skin] 'nope.' [Tree like growth] 'closer, but needs me to be buried. Next' [mushroom like growth] 'how'd it get worse?' [Accelerated plant growth] 'so close, but I'm not a plant, I'll keep that one though.'

Finnaly, after about a day of just making new techniques, he got what he wanted.[chrysalis: this technique has two parts, the passive [development boost] and active [cocoon]. When in passive mode, a set amount of biomass is used over time to speed up hosts phisical development untill they reach their chosen phisical state. When [cocoon] is used, all biomass is used to form a cocoon around the host, this cocoon will over time heal all injuries, illnesses, curses, poisons, and other negative status affects. It will also integrate all available beneficial substances into the hosts phisiology while they are being recreated in the cocoon. Host will exit cocoon in their chosen phisical state. Cocoon can only be used with 3 months worth of biomass stored at curent biomass collection rates at a minimum amount. Curent available cocoon usages stored: 1.]

Now this, this was nice. Alex realised that just looking at trees and such could hive him some decent growth boosts, but they either would need to be used constantly, or would shoot him right past a child like body strait into being an old man. But then he realised that insects already do what he was looking for, all he needed to do was recreate that in a way he could use. Throw in some extra bonuses like [cocoon] and some balancing such as a minimum amount of biomass needed and he was done. He set one fifth of his biomass collection speed up his growth so as to not rase to much suspicion, and then went to sleep.
