Chapter 56 - The Unfathomable Threat

The echoes of the battle had long faded, leaving a strained calm over the camp. Soldiers busied themselves with repairs and reorganizing, their minds a whirlwind of thoughts from the recent engagement. Asur's revelation about his soldiers' true identities had provided some clarity, but now another layer of mystery was about to unfold.

The ground, once trembling from the aftershocks of the fierce battle, had now stabilized. Engineers and tech specialists had successfully contained the fissure, and the soldiers were slowly returning to their routines. General Arjun, ever vigilant, couldn't shake off the feeling that the calm was but a precursor to another storm.Late into the night, as most of the camp settled into an uneasy rest, a soft glow emanated from the fissure's edge. It was barely noticeable at first, but soon it grew in intensity, illuminating the surroundings with an unearthly light. One of the soldiers on night patrol, intrigued and alarmed, hurried to inform General Arjun and Asur of this new development. Arjun and Asur, both in the midst of a tense conversation regarding the battle's aftermath, were interrupted by the soldier's urgent plea. "Sir, you need to see this. The fissure... it's glowing! "Exchanging a glance filled with apprehension, the two leaders swiftly made their way towards the source of the disturbance. As they approached, the glow intensified, forcing them to shield their eyes. The light was so bright, it was almost impossible to see the missile that was now pulsating with energy. "What is happening?" Arjun exclaimed, his voice barely audible over the low hum that had begun to emanate from the fissure.Asur's expression was one of grave concern. "This is unlike anything we've encountered. We need to be cautious. "The light continued to grow, becoming blindingly bright. Soldiers and engineers gathered around, their faces masked with fear and curiosity. Suddenly, the light reached a crescendo, becoming too bright to look at directly. Everyone turned away, shielding their eyes from the unbearable brightness. Minutes passed, though they felt like hours, and finally, the light began to fade. Slowly, hesitantly, the onlookers turned back to see the fissure and the missile now .

When the light dimmed enough to be bearable, they turned back to the missile. A holographic message had appeared above it, the words slowly coming into focus:"Save your planet by giving all of your advanced weapons to us. We are from the K-856 galaxy, located approximately 3.25 lakh light years away from your planet".

Otherwise, we will destroy your planet from this universe."

The message sent a shockwave through the crowd. The K-856 galaxy? A distance of 3.25 lakh light-years? It was a mind-boggling concept, a reminder of the vastness of the universe and the insignificance of their little planet.

Asur, his face pale, was the first to speak. "This is impossible," he muttered, his voice barely a whisper. "No one could have traveled such a distance."

Arjun, however, was not so easily convinced. "There are things we don't understand," he said, his voice firm. "This could be a test, a way to gauge our response."

The two men argued for hours, their voices echoing in the night air. Asur insisted that the message was a hoax, a trick played by some unknown entity. Arjun, on the other hand, believed that it was a genuine threat, a warning from a technologically advanced civilization.

In the end, they agreed on one thing: they had to act quickly. The fate of their planet depended on it.

The following days were a blur of activity. The government mobilized its forces, preparing for a potential invasion. Scientists scrambled to decipher the message, trying to understand the intentions of the K-856 civilization.

The people, meanwhile, were gripped by fear. The threat of annihilation loomed large, casting a shadow over their daily lives. Some people fled their homes, seeking refuge in the countryside. Others banded together, forming communities for mutual support.

As the days turned into weeks, the tension grew. The K-856 civilization had not responded to their message. Their silence was deafening, a constant reminder of the impending doom.

Then, one day, a message appeared on the missile. It was short and to the point: "We are coming."

Panic erupted across the planet. The people knew that their time was up. There was no hope of escape, no chance of survival.

As the K-856 fleet approached, the people of Earth watched in horror. Their world was about to be destroyed, and there was nothing they could do to stop it.

Just as the K-856 ships were about to fire their weapons, a blinding light erupted from the missile. The light grew brighter and brighter, until it engulfed the entire planet.

Then, silence.

When the light faded, the K-856 ships were gone. The missile, too, had vanished. The planet was unharmed.

The people of Earth were stunned. They had been saved, but they did not know how.
