Zod was deep in research, pushing the boundaries of known physics. Under extreme pressure, matter behaves in unusual ways, and Zod, with his mastery over gravitational forces, was testing those limits. Gravity, though the weakest of the fundamental forces, can become formidable under certain conditions. With immense gravitational power, Zod compressed matter until its atoms were flattened and restructured in dense, inseparable layers. As he increased the gravitational force further, these atoms morphed into hollow tube-like structures, mimicking the structure of a neutron star.
The neutron star material he created could potentially withstand up to 100 million tons per cubic centimeter—making it one of the universe's strongest materials. However, synthesizing this neutron star material took a heavy toll on Zod's energy. "It's so dense that not even I can move it for now," he muttered, noting the astronomical weight of the creation. While it wouldn't collapse Earth's gravitational field due to his control, the neutron star material was still immensely powerful.
"Boss, you actually synthesized neutron star matter. That's incredible," the Black Queen remarked as she scanned the intense gravitational field surrounding the material.
Zod shrugged. "Back on Krypton, we had neutron star material cannons. Just one shot could destroy an entire planet or even a star." He had simulated Kryptonian technology to create this, but the process was far less efficient.
Suddenly, a familiar yet unexpected voice interrupted his musings. "Zod."
Turning, he found himself face-to-face with the Ancient One. "You startled me," he said, slightly annoyed by her sudden appearance.
"Apologies, though I doubted you'd truly be frightened," she replied with a serene smile.
Zod's expression shifted to guarded curiosity. "Are you here because of Morgan?"
"No," the Ancient One replied, shaking her head. "I actually came to ask for your assistance."
Zod raised an eyebrow. "Can I refuse?"
The Ancient One attempted to entice him. "What if I grant you access to the library of Kamar-Taj?"
Zod shook his head, unfazed. "Magic in this world demands far too high a price. Even white magic has its costs, and I'm not interested in dealing with that burden."
The Ancient One understood Zod's hesitation, especially with the knowledge of what magic could do to its users. For instance, as the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange could only manage three hours of sleep each night. Beyond that, he would succumb to nightmares, soul sickness, and horrifying hallucinations that turned his everyday existence into a waking nightmare. Even his internal organs had mutated from the constant toll of magic.
The Ancient One continued, undeterred. "The library doesn't hold only magic books, Zod. You'd find Kunlun's Qi cultivation techniques there as well."
Zod's interest piqued at the mention of Kunlun. "Kunlun's Iron Fist… So it's Qi cultivation?"
The Ancient One smiled mysteriously. "In a manner of speaking."
"Wait, isn't the Iron Fist's strength enhanced by the power of Shou-Lao, the ancient dragon? And there's already an Iron Fist in this generation," Zod replied, skeptical.
"Indeed, each Iron Fist needs Shou-Lao's power to truly become an Iron Fist," the Ancient One confirmed. "But you, Zod… you are different."
Zod crossed his arms, trying to read her intentions. "Different how? I have the same two eyes, nose, and mouth as anyone else."
"Your talents extend beyond that," the Ancient One said earnestly. Zod had risen to the level of cosmic power faster than anyone she had ever seen, mastering both gravity and electromagnetic force to a nearly unrivaled degree. Although Zod's presence on Earth kept her vigilant, she hesitated to act against him. In countless futures, the Eye of Agamotto could scarcely glimpse Zod's path. Part of her wished he would leave Earth, granting her the peace of knowing he wouldn't cause harm.
Unmoved, Zod responded, "I still don't see how that means I should help you."
The Ancient One took a breath. "I understand your reluctance, but this is something that threatens us all. If you truly seek strength beyond what even Krypton possessed, working with me on this matter could benefit us both."
Zod paused, considering the offer. Despite his reservations, the notion of uncovering new powers had its allure.
