Hearing this, even though Kira wanted to keep himself from smiling, he couldn't control himself as the corner of his lips curved upwards.
"Of course uncle Duy, your technique is one of a kind and I think that it'll be very useful."
Duy too, smiled when he heard Kira's answer and let out a sigh as all of his worries felt like they were expelled along with his sigh.
After a painstaking effort of developing a jutsu for people who couldn't use chakra, for two whole decades, why wouldn't he want to share it with people? He wasn't like most people who liked to keep their techniques to themselves.
If someone was willing to put in the effort to be able to use the eight gates, then that person deserved to be able to use the eight gates.
This was Guy's way of thinking as he began to teach Kira the theory on how to activate the eight gates and the requirements to do so.
After listening to the concept of how the eight gates worked and were activated, Kira headed towards Minato's house. As for the reason why he was going there? It was for the Flying Raijin.
He couldn't find it in the scrolls in Hokage's office, so the only other way was to ask the user himself.
As he ran towards his house, he activated the first and second gates with relative ease before deactivating them. He had tried to open the third gate, but it just didn't work.
A few minutes later, he stood in front of Minato's house and knocked the door politely, only to see Kushina open the door. When she saw him, she smiled.
"It's you, the bug kid."
"Oh you're that beautiful red haired woman." he responded in kind, but Kushina noticed the change in him.
The way he talked was very different from the happy-go-lucky kid she saw a few months ago in the ichiraku ramen shop. In a sense, he looked like an average chunin who had seen death and other things, just smaller in size.
Not knowing what to do, she simply let him in before closing the door behind her.
"So, why are you here?" she asked him as she guided him to the living room.
Kira scratched his cheek and said, "I wanted to ask big brother Minato to teach me his flying raijin... if I'm as fast as him, then I should be able to save the people I cherish, right?"
Kushina nodded, remembering the time when Minato said something similar to her.
'Save the people you cherish....'
"Minato! Someone is here to see you!" she announced as she brought Kira to their living room.
Kira looked around and then focused his attention on Kushina, "Big sister, you're the one who has the nine tails sealed inside you right?"
Kushina raised one of her eyebrows when she heard the question.
'Is that the reason why he's not as cheerful as before? Is he scared of me?' she thought as she felt a little sad.
But that was her fate and she was done accepting life as it was.
She nodded her head in response to his question, "Yes, are you afraid of me now?"
To her surprise, the kid in front of her shook his head without hesitation.
"Nope, I'm not afraid of the nine tails. And I also heard that you have the nine tails under your control so why should I be afraid of it? You're a ninja like everyone else I've seen and the only difference is that you have a tailed beast sealed inside you.
Instead of being scared, I think the villagers should be proud to have someone as strong as you on their side. They're all pathetic, simple minded idiots." Kira cursed them, frowning as he did so.
Kushina smiled slightly before repeating her question, "Are you afraid of me? I'm not talking about the nine tails."
Kira opened his mouth and closed it without saying anything. He stared at her for a few seconds.
Was he actually scared of her? Absolutely not. But why waste an opportunity when it was placed on his lap? Sakumo's death helped him act more mature, but at the end of the day, he was still a child no matter what.
"Yeah, I'm a little scared. After all.... the people say that you're a fiery red demon who'll eat raw human meat if someone angers you."
Hearing Kira's words, Kushina's lips twitched.
"Those are just rumours. You shouldn't believe them. Tell, do I look scary right now? Like the fiery red demon who'll eat raw human meat or whatever."
Kira silently stared at her for a while before shaking his head, "No sister, you're very beautiful. You're right, I shouldn't have believed those rumours."
Hearing this, Kushina felt better, but this also made her more confused.
'He says that he's not scared of me or the nine tails, but that doesn't explain the drastic change in his behaviour. Should I just ask him?'
As she was lost in her own thoughts, Kira spoke, "Where big bro Minato by the way?"
"He's taking a bath. He'll be here soon, don't worry."
"Okay."
The entire room was silent after that and a few minutes later, Kushina couldn't handle the awkward atmosphere in the room and she also couldn't keep her curiosity under control.
"Kira right?" she asked as she looked at him.
Kira nodded and didn't say anything else, which made her ask the question she was the most curious about.
"You... why did you become so silent? Back when I saw you at the ramen shop, you were so... joyful and happy. Did something happen?"
Kira stared at her for a few seconds before asking, "Big sister, do you never get angry that the villagers give you weird looks and try to keep their distance away?"
Kushina frowned, misunderstanding his question as she responded, "Are the villagers shunning you? All you do is play with bugs, what's so wrong with that?"
