Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Weak Twins

The sky, once bright with the afternoon sun, now seemed heavy with the ash that filled the air. Luci stood amid the destruction, his chains clinking lightly as they hung from his wrists. The two Heaven's Enemies, Brianna and Daniel, lay unconscious to the side, their bodies barely stirring beneath the scorching heat that still lingered in the forest. On the other side, Martina chuckled, her voice cold and devoid of any true humanity.

"These are Heaven's Enemies, demons sent to destroy you. You might be wondering why I helped them track down some knights huh aren't you." Martina's voice dripped with venom, but Luci barely reacted. He had heard these stories before—people selling their souls for power they couldn't truly comprehend. "It's because our tribe no longer believes in the gods the knights pray to or the ones the Vikings pray to," she continued, pacing in front of the broken trees. "For years, we prayed for rain, for salvation from the drought that ravaged our lands, but the gods remained silent. But the demons..." She smiled wickedly and tugged at her sleeve, revealing the fiery red mark scorched into her skin. "The demons listened. In exchange for helping them trap humans and conquer this realm, they gave us power. They stopped the drought. Now, our tribe will rule alongside them, while you—knights, humans, all of you—burn."

Luci's eyes flicked to the mark on her arm. **Typical**, he thought. Humans were always so quick to abandon their faith when things became difficult. **Weak.**

"I don't care about your reasons," he said coldly, his voice cutting through the air like a blade. His disinterest sent a shiver down Martina's spine.

"What?" Martina's sneer faltered, confusion spreading across her face.

"You think I care about humans, demons, or gods? They're all weak." Luci turned away from her, his gaze landing on the two Heaven's Enemies. "Now, I'll deal with these weaklings."

In an instant, his chains snapped to life, slicing through the air toward the two demons. "Weak twins," he muttered under his breath as the chains wrapped around them with deadly precision.

"Wait a minute... the only one who calls us weak twins is—"

"The youngest... Luci... the de—" the white-clad demon's voice choked off as Luci appeared in front of them with terrifying speed. He swung his chains, and the impact shattered the demon's face into a grotesque mosaic of blood and bone. The sickening crunch echoed through the forest as the demon in white crashed into his brother, the force so powerful it sent them both sprawling.

The black-clad demon gasped, clutching his stomach, which had been caved in by the second blow from Luci's chain. The shockwave that followed blew out the last remnants of the fire, bending every tree in the vicinity as though bowing before the sheer force of his power.

Martina, who had been standing confidently moments before, was thrown backward, colliding with a nearby tree, and Brianna and Daniel, still unconscious, were swept into the chaos as well.

With a flick of his wrist, Luci caught their bodies mid-air, tossing them unceremoniously into the nearby lake. **Not because I care**, he thought as they splashed into the water, the cool liquid extinguishing the smoke rising from the scorched earth. **But if the knights suspect me, it'll be an annoyance.**

The twins, regenerating slowly from the brutal assault, clutched at their disfigured bodies. "Exploders, attack!" one of them shouted through broken teeth.

From the shadows of the forest, several small demons rushed forward, their bodies swelling as they prepared to explode on impact. Luci sighed, barely interested. **This again?** He kicked one of the demons high into the sky, watching it soar before detonating harmlessly above. More followed, and with each kick, each swing of his chain, the demons were sent flying like ragdolls. One after the other, they ascended, exploding in mid-air.

Luci's chain coiled around another, sending it spinning toward the sky where it burst into a brilliant flash of light. He barely flinched as the shockwave rippled through the clouds. "Let the sky go *ka-boom*," he muttered to himself as the remaining demons erupted in unison, the force of the explosion darkening the sky, even though it was still afternoon.

As he fell back to the ground, his eyes locked onto the two demons below, still struggling to regain their footing. Their faces contorted in agony as they continued to regenerate.

The white demon was the first to speak, holding up his barely healed face. "Y-You..."

Luci landed on top of him, crushing his spine with a sickening crunch. The demon in black, still trying to stand, stared at Luci with wide, terrified eyes.

"Oh, hi," Luci said, almost cheerfully, before casually kicking the black demon into a nearby tree. The force was so immense that the tree splintered, sending the demon crashing through two more trees before his body finally came to rest on the ground, limp and unmoving.

The white demon, desperate, threw a punch at Luci's chest, but the sound of bones breaking filled the air as his hand shattered on impact.

"My turn," Luci said simply. He drove his fist into the demon's chest, sending him flying through the air as though he weighed nothing.

The two demons, now standing together once more, exchanged a glance before the one in black raised his hand. "Pull!"

A tree on the right side of the clearing shifted, its roots tearing free from the earth as it was dragged toward Luci. The white demon raised his hand as well, and with a flick of his wrist, another tree hurtled toward Luci from the left.

But Luci was faster. His chains wrapped around the trunk of the first tree, spinning it effortlessly as though it were weightless. The other trees still moved, swirling like a vortex of nature's fury. With one final spin, Luci hurled the trees toward the twins, sending them crashing into the sky.

The demons managed to steady themselves mid-air, their feet hovering just above the ground. The one in white clenched his fist, glaring down at Luci. "Let's finish this, brother."

The black demon nodded. "Yeah."

Together, they raised their hands toward the forest. "All pull!" they shouted in unison. Every tree in the vicinity trembled, uprooting from the ground as though drawn by an invisible magnet. The forest was alive with the sound of roots snapping, trees groaning as they were ripped from the earth and pulled toward Luci.

The white demon raised his hand once more, dropping it with finality. "All push!"

The sky itself seemed to bear down on the earth as the force of the spell hit. Trees flew into the air, swirling into the sky like a hurricane, and the ground beneath them cracked open, transforming the forest into a barren wasteland. The vegetation that had once thrived there was gone, reduced to nothingness.

The two demons landed gently on the ground, surveying the massive crater they had created. The black demon let out a low chuckle. "It's done. He's dead now."

The white demon peered into the hole, his eyes narrowing. "Is he—"

A voice rang out from behind them, cold and mocking. "Hey, weak twins."

The twins spun around, their faces paling as they saw Luci, unharmed, standing in the midst of the devastation. Dirt clung to his clothes, and a few leaves stuck in his hair, but otherwise, he was completely untouched.

"You... how...?" the black demon stammered.

Luci smiled, though there was no warmth in it. "You think this world is enough to stop me? I haven't even used my full power. And I'm still in chains."

Before they could react, Luci grabbed them both by the wrists, his grip crushing their bones with ease. The demons howled in pain, but Luci's expression remained cold. "Go back to Hell."

With a flick of his arms, he threw them with such force that the very earth shifted beneath his feet. The demons were sent spiraling into the sky, their bodies disappearing into the distance with a final, echoing boom.

### **The Kingdoms React**

Back in the knight's kingdom, the ground trembled violently. Brian, one of the legendary knights, turned to his comrades, his face pale. "What's happening?"

"Sir! Something massive... It shook the entire forest!" a knight gasped, breathless as he delivered the news.

Brian clenched his fists, his mind racing. "I hope Brianna, Daniel, and... Luci are alright," he muttered.

In the Mage Kingdom, the walls shook as the earth trembled beneath them. A mage rushed to the council, his robes fluttering as he ran. "The young demon... Could this be his doing?"

Another mage, older and wiser, frowned deeply. "If it is, we must act soon. That power... it cannot be ignored."

Even in the far North, where the Viking Kingdom stood, warriors clad in fur and iron felt the tremors. A Viking chief, his helmet glinting in the sun, turned to his men. "What was that?"

One of the warriors shrugged
