Once they were back in the safety of the office, David's expression was grim. "That went better than I expected, but Claire's presence could be a problem. She has a nose for scandal."
"I know her," Kiara said, running a hand through her hair. "She used to cover stories on my family. If anyone can dig up dirt, it's her."
Mike turned to Kiara, concern etched on his face. "What does she know? Is there something in your past we need to worry about?"
Kiara hesitated, her mind racing. She knew about the skeletons in her family's closet but had always managed to keep them hidden. "I'm not sure what she knows. But I'll talk to Cyndi. She may have heard something."
"Let's keep this under wraps for now," David advised. "If Ruddy gets wind of this, he'll exploit it. We need to protect our image."
"Agreed," Mike said, his tone serious. "But we can't ignore Ruddy. He's not going to stop until he finds a way to bring us down."
