"We need a show of unity," David replied. "An appearance at the press conference tomorrow. We need to project strength."
Kiara felt a knot tighten in her stomach. A press conference would put them right in the crosshairs of public scrutiny. "You want us to go public?"
"It's the only way to counter Ruddy's claims," David said firmly. "We'll issue a statement about the engagement, the plans for the merger, everything. We need to show we're a united front."
