Chapter 7 - Chapter 007

Xize had his own dormitory at Silver Fox. According to Jane Anning, it would be best for him to stay at her place. She was a workaholic, and her home was equipped with all the resources and equipment an artist might need, making it much more convenient.

Xize asked her, "Don't you ever take a break?"

Jane Anning shrugged, "You don't understand. It's perfectly normal for artists to live with their agents. Many agents turn their homes into studios just like mine. Don't worry, I don't enjoy vacations; I love working."

Xize pretended to pack his things in the dormitory, but he knew he had very little. Apart from a few clothes and daily necessities, his previous life could be described as "utterly destitute."

After packing, he only filled half a small bag. When Jane Anning took him home, she shook her head in disbelief, "What kind of life have you been living? A person in the entertainment industry with only a few sets of clothes?"

Xize threw his bag in the back and sat in the front passenger seat, gazing at the planet designed specifically for the entertainment industry. He said calmly, "It's not about the number of clothes; it's all about the face."

Jane Anning glanced at Xize, "How can you be so relaxed? Aren't you anxious? Everyone in this industry is in a hurry. If you don't become famous, someone else will. If you don't make money, it goes into someone else's pocket. Everyone wants to be a galactic superstar like Arnold, owning their artificial islands, choosing their projects, and enjoying the adoration of the entire galaxy."

Xize had often heard Jane Anning mention "Arnold," and he had overheard discussions about him in the Silver Fox Building. It seemed Arnold was the pinnacle figure of the entertainment industry, sitting at an unattainable height.

In truth, Xize envied him too, but he was an award-winning actor from six thousand years ago. After so many years in the industry, he had learned to be more composed. No matter how the world had changed, he understood that success couldn't be rushed. Besides, with all his talents and skills, what did he have to fear? At the very least, he still had his acting prowess.

The planet where the Silver Fox Building was located was dedicated to the entertainment industry. Nearly everyone living there worked in the industry. Most artists had properties there, and apart from artists, the residents were agents and other related staff.

Jane Anning's home was not far from Silver Fox, a three-story villa with two large courtyards at the front and back. The community was fully enclosed with property management.

Xize realized Jane Anning was indeed a workaholic after moving into her home. The entire building was transformed into a small studio, equipped with makeup rooms, fitness rooms, dance studios, recording rooms, and more. There was nothing she didn't have.

The work area occupied a significant portion, while the residential area was confined to a few small south-facing rooms. Though Xize's room wasn't large, it was much more spacious than the dormitory provided by Silver Fox.

The convenience of the future world was remarkable. Tasks that once required hiring a housekeeper could now be done by household robots, ensuring better privacy.

Jane Anning's life was entirely managed by robots, including meals prepared by cooking robots. Though Xize found the food unappetizing, various flavored nutrient solutions were available to meet all nutritional needs.

After a busy day, Xize and Jane Anning hurriedly ate dinner and retreated to their rooms to rest. Xize, who hadn't rested well for days, fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

The next day, Jane Anning couldn't wait any longer. She had turned her home into a mini studio for the artists' work. When she had renovated it, she thought it might be a waste, but now she realized it was all for this moment, for Xize!

A week later, the industry exchange meeting was scheduled. She received a communication from Xia Li, confirming that Xia Li would bring Xize to the exchange meeting, using his resources to elevate him to a new height.

Jane Anning was thrilled upon receiving the notification, but Xize remained calm. Having someone with resources to help was undoubtedly good, but the path in the entertainment industry was never easy. Success depended on one's abilities.

The exchange meeting required artists' promotional videos. To prevent large companies from excluding smaller ones and to avoid malicious competition among big companies, the organizers had devised a method long ago—

Promotional videos were not allowed to use 3D graphics, only ordinary photos on light screens; no exaggerated promotional phrases were allowed, only ordinary background music; videos with plots were prohibited, as were promotional photos for films or TV dramas, and severe photo editing was banned, as was excessive technology that altered appearances!

In short, the promotional videos could only be simple photo compilations made specifically for the exchange meeting, with minimal technological modifications, primarily to showcase the artists' images.

Everyone had to take photos, and Xize was no exception. Jane Anning didn't need to go through the application process at the company or squeeze into a photo studio with others. She had all the necessary equipment at home, so why let Xize suffer?

With a quick communication, stylists, makeup artists, photographers, and post-production staff arrived, their flying vehicles lined up in the courtyard. Xize watched from the second-floor balcony, amazed. Such a high-level agent would have been a treasure six thousand years ago.

As they came upstairs, they greeted Jane Anning warmly, "Sister Anning." Xize could tell these were her trusted confidants, likely top professionals in the industry.

Standing by the window in casual home attire, Xize held a mobile light screen with a habitual gentle smile. Initially, no one noticed him due to his weak presence, overshadowed by Jane Anning's striking blue dress.

But when their gazes fell on him by the window, they were stunned. Who was that? Was he Jane Anning's new boy toy? Where did she find such a handsome, Asian-faced boy toy? Tell me, I want one too!

Xize usually kept a low profile, a habit from his days as a rugged-looking actor. His strong presence could be intimidating, so he had learned to tone it down, appearing ordinary and gentle.

But now, with his delicate and beautiful face, bright black eyes, and a nonchalant demeanor, he looked like an adorable little rabbit!

Fair, tender, and well-behaved with black, shiny eyes and a beautiful face—an irresistible little rabbit!

The future generation was much more expressive. Thinking of licking, their faces showed it. Some even started drooling, making Jane Anning feel utterly embarrassed!

She coughed loudly and kicked a few of them, "What are you here for? Look at me! Look at me!"

Photographer Jack turned and said, "Sister, such a beautiful and obedient little rabbit, can I borrow him for a few days?"

Jane Anning splashed her coffee in his face, "Wake up! What little rabbit? He's my new artist, Xize! Get a grip!"

After her scolding, the four finally snapped out of it, though their eyes kept drifting back to Xize.

Dressed in white home clothes, with freshly washed hair softly falling, fair skin, and a slender build, Xize stood there smiling, looking like a well-behaved big boy. If not a little rabbit, what was he?

Among the four, there were both men and women. After mentally fawning over the little rabbit, a short-haired woman finally spoke, "When I got the call from Sister Anning, I had just finished doing Selena's makeup. That little diva gave me attitude, asking where I was rushing off to."

Selena was the little diva Jane Anning had previously managed before she defected to a competitor. Xize had heard about her and knew she was now on Jane Anning's blacklist.

Jane Anning sneered, and Jack asked, "And then? Didn't you throw powder in her face?"

The short-haired woman laughed, "No, I politely said, 'Sorry, Selena, but Ivy asked me to come over.'"

Ivy was Selena's arch-rival, also a little diva. Both had similar career paths and often competed against each other. One could only imagine Selena's reaction, likely furious.

Among the four, the photographer was named Jack, the makeup artist was Mary, the stylist was Anan, and the post-production guy was a big fellow called Michael. They were all top-notch in the industry. Mary, for instance, usually did makeup for top-tier artists, and ordinary artists couldn't easily hire her.

These were Jane Anning's trusted allies, whom she had helped rise to their current positions. Their relationship was exceptionally close. When Jane Anning had trouble, they gathered a lot of inside information and helped her significantly.

Without wasting words, Jane Anning explained why she had called them, "I want the best final images."

The four turned to Xize, worried that the little rabbit might not photograph well due to his weak presence. But to their surprise, the little rabbit by the window had vanished.

Xize's eyes now held a sharpness, his gaze deepened, and his aura expanded slightly. Holding a light screen, he walked over with a serious, no-nonsense expression.

He sat next to Jane Anning, opened the light screen, and displayed a 3D model. "These are a few styles I recommend. While you were talking, I thought about it. Let's set the theme of the promotional photos as 'Chinese Style.'"
