Li Xuan walked through the crowded city streets. This modern world felt foreign to him. Everything seemed so fast, and he had no idea where to go.
Suddenly, a voice called his name from afar.
"Li Xuan! Hey, Li Xuan!" someone shouted.
Li Xuan stopped and turned around. A man was running toward him with a wide smile on his face. It was Chen Yu, the friend of Li Xuan's original body before his reincarnation.
Chen Yu grinned, clearly happy to see Li Xuan. "Where have you been? It's been so long since we last saw you," he said, catching his breath. Li Xuan just stared at him for a moment without saying anything.
Chen Yu frowned, confused by the cold response. "You didn't tell anyone where you went. We were all worried," he added, trying to prompt a reaction.
Li Xuan didn't offer an explanation. He simply said, "I had some business."
Chen Yu scratched his head, still looking puzzled. "Whatever, at least you're back. Come on, let's head to campus. You haven't been there in forever," he suggested.
Li Xuan looked at Chen Yu blankly. Going to campus might give him more information about his new life. "Alright," he replied briefly.
Chen Yu smiled in relief. "Great, let's walk together," he said, starting to walk.
They headed toward the campus, with Chen Yu chatting about small things he found interesting. However, Li Xuan only half-listened, his focus remaining on how to restore his powers.
After a few minutes, they arrived in front of Tianhai University of the Arts. The campus buildings looked grand, and students were hurrying around.
"This is our campus, Li Xuan," Chen Yu said, smiling widely. Li Xuan simply stared at the buildings, expressionless. The campus meant nothing to him.
As they entered the main building, they ran into a woman with long hair standing in front of the classroom door. It was Zhao Ling, a classmate of Li Xuan. She glanced at Li Xuan with a surprised look.
"You finally showed up again," Zhao Ling said coldly. "Where have you been? Busy?"
Li Xuan didn't answer. He just walked past her and entered the classroom, ignoring the question.
Chen Yu tried to ease the tension by chuckling softly. "Hey, Zhao, don't be like that. The important thing is that he's back," he said.
Zhao Ling continued to eye Li Xuan suspiciously but didn't say anything more, letting Li Xuan sit at his desk.
Chen Yu sat next to Li Xuan and patted him on the shoulder. "Seriously, you've changed a lot," he said, sounding a bit worried.
Li Xuan just stared straight ahead. Campus lessons weren't important to him. His mind was focused on one thing: restoring his powers.
Class proceeded quietly, but Li Xuan wasn't paying attention. When the bell rang, signaling the end of class, the students started standing up and leaving. Chen Yu patted Li Xuan's shoulder again.
"Let's have lunch together. It's been a while since we talked," he suggested.
But before Li Xuan could respond, laughter came from the doorway. "Haha, look who finally showed up," the voice belonged to Zhou Wei, the new boyfriend of Li Xuan's ex-girlfriend, Yang Mei.
Li Xuan turned and looked at Zhou Wei with a blank expression. Zhou Wei smiled mockingly, with Yang Mei standing beside him, smirking.
"You finally came back after being gone for so long?" Yang Mei sneered.
Zhou Wei stepped closer to Li Xuan, his smile widening. "I thought you dropped out because you ran out of money," he said, chuckling.
Li Xuan said nothing. To him, they were insignificant.
Zhou Wei moved closer, his tone full of contempt. "You don't belong here, Li Xuan," he said arrogantly.
Yang Mei smiled slightly, looking at Li Xuan with disdain. "Still poor, aren't you?" she added.
Chen Yu glanced at Li Xuan, confused by his friend's calm demeanor. "Bro, aren't you mad?" he asked quietly.
Li Xuan stood up and looked at Zhou Wei and Yang Mei without emotion. "I have more important things to deal with than you two," he said simply, then turned and walked out of the classroom without looking back.
