The latter didn't respond but merely glanced at Ireya and Li Yu.
His gaze lingered on the girl for less than half a second, while it stayed slightly longer on Li Yu, for about a second or two, before he closed his eyes again.
Miss Rabbit sneered, "There's no need to feign deafness and dumbness; I know you can understand what I'm saying."
The man in the cell remained silent, acting as if he hadn't heard the girl's question.
"I've asked the herbalists who treated you, and they all said your injuries were severe. With such wounds, an ordinary person would have died long ago, only someone with a very strong will to live could have held on. So... I guess you don't want to die, do you?"
