Chapter 8 - Chapter 0008: The Transformation from a Hoodlum to an Actor

Chu Feng saw the two people blocking his way and calmly asked, "What do you two want to do?"

One of them looked at Chu Feng, sneered, and said, "Our Brother wants to have a talk with you. Follow us."

"Okay!"

Chu Feng, now bold and confident in his skills, also wanted to see who was targeting him.

Following the two men, he arrived at a secluded alley and couldn't help but laugh upon seeing the person waiting there—it turned out to be an acquaintance, Tong Hu.

"Brother Hu, you're quite early in inviting death. It's often said the early bird catches the worm, but here we have an early tiger delivering his own demise," Chu Feng mocked as he looked at Brother Hu.

Tong Hu was momentarily stunned when he saw Chu Feng, then a vicious smile crept across his face.

"Indeed, it's a small world when enemies cross paths."

"A small world? Or did you come specifically to block me?" Chu Feng asked, puzzled.

Tong Hu gestured to the two men behind him, who both pulled out daggers they carried.

Tong Hu drew his own dagger and with a sinister laugh said, "Whether or not I came specifically for you doesn't matter now. What matters is, little boy, that you've fallen into my hands. Since someone doesn't want to see you at school, I'll grant their wish."

Understanding Tong Hu's words, Chu Feng seemed to realize who was behind this.

"Was it Wu Di who found you? I didn't expect him to be capable, having you, the mighty Brother Hu, personally block me," Chu Feng said with a contemptuous sneer.

Tong Hu replied, "All of that is unimportant now. What is important is that from tomorrow on, you won't need to show your face at school anymore."

After Tong Hu spoke, with a glance, the two men behind him charged at Chu Feng with their daggers drawn.

Chu Feng watched the two charging at him and a cold smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"Whoosh!"

Rather than retreating, Chu Feng advanced, moving faster than the two men rushing towards him.

The two, seeing Chu Feng charging at them, were startled at first and then their mouths curled into cold smiles. They were Tiger Hu's ace hitters, not some little hoodlums who'd never seen blood.

So when they saw Chu Feng charging at them, the corners of their mouths both revealed fierce grins, as they gripped their daggers even tighter.

"Close enough!"

When the distance between them and Chu Feng fell within their attack range, they simultaneously thrust their daggers.

However, as they stabbed forward, they felt their hands suddenly lighten, and then realized that Chu Feng was nowhere to be seen.

"Up here!"

Chu Feng's voice suddenly came from above their heads, causing the two men to instinctively look up.

The moment they looked up, they saw Chu Feng's large foot coming down on them.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

Chu Feng's power-infused legs showed no mercy as they stomped on the two men's big, flat faces.

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

Two screams followed and then silence.

That was because the two big-faced men were now on the ground, their faces severely distorted.

Teeth and blood smeared their faces, creating a horrific sight.

Chu Feng picked up one of the daggers and walked step by step toward Tong Hu, whose face had turned pale, and legs were trembling.

"Brother Hu, how should I thank you?" Chu Feng said, while turning the finely crafted dagger in his hand into a mangled scrap like twisting a pretzel.

Seeing the dagger in Chu Feng's hands transformed into something like twisted dough, Tong Hu was so frightened that he 'plop' fell to his knees.

"Brother Chu, Grandpa Chu, I was wrong! I truly know my mistake now. I will never dare to oppose you again. Just let me go, please. I have an eighty-year-old mother to care for and a child who waits to be fed," Tong Hu said tearfully and with a runny nose.

Observing the stark contrast in Tong Hu's demeanor from before, Chu Feng was almost impressed; it was a shame for such acting talent to not seek an Oscar instead of being a hoodlum.

"You know, Brother Hu, why don't you stop being a hoodlum and take up extras work outside the film studios? I bet within two years, you could be a star," Chu Feng said jokingly.

To his surprise, Tong Hu actually nodded in agreement and said, "I'll be at the gates of the film studio first thing tomorrow. I've always wanted to be an actor. Please give me the chance to become a star; just let me go."

Chu Feng was utterly convinced that if Tong Hu didn't become famous as an actor, it would be a travesty of justice.

"Get lost! Don't let me catch you bullying anyone again!" Chu Feng said as he tossed the dagger, twisted like a pretzel, into Tong Hu's hands.

"Thank you, Brother Chu! Thank you, Brother Chu!" Tong Hu hurriedly apologized.

"Wait!" Chu Feng suddenly called out to Tong Hu.

Tong Hu shivered with fear at Chu Feng's words and stammered, "Does Brother Chu have any other orders?"

Chu Feng glanced at the two people lying on the ground and said, "Take those two away as well. Don't let them be an eyesore here, and save the janitors some trouble."

"Yes! Yes! I'll have someone take them away right now," Tong Hu quickly nodded in agreement.

Watching Tong Hu like this, Chu Feng really wanted to lose his temper but had nowhere to vent it.

After watching Tong Hu leave, Chu Feng, with his backpack on, entered the school.

Today was the day of the monthly exam, but Chu Feng had reviewed all of the high school knowledge the night before, so he was not at all worried about today's test. He was even brimming with confidence about having his class teacher climb a tree.

Teacher Liu, the class teacher, looked at Chu Feng with a hint of disdain in his eyes.

The entire day was filled with exams, and Chu Feng completed each subject at the fastest speed, then handed in his papers just as quickly. Naturally, this once again invited Teacher Liu's scorn.

"If you could guess your way to good scores, you might as well go buy lottery tickets instead of attending school."

"If you can climb a tree, then I suppose it's not impossible for pigs to climb trees either?" Chu Feng replied with the same tone and then, slinging his backpack, left the school.

He had to figure out a way to make money, so there was no need to waste time here. It was more important to go and discuss the jade gambling matter with Cui Jingyan first.

Chu Feng arrived at Golden Cauldron just past six, and everyone still held great respect for this newly appointed young security captain, warmly greeting him upon seeing him.

Some bold female staff even took the initiative to flirt with this young and able security captain, causing Chu Feng to be somewhat embarrassed as he quickly headed to Cui Jingyan's office.

"Your face is so red, you must have been seduced by the girls downstairs," Cui Jingyan teased as she saw Chu Feng enter and walked out from behind her desk.

When Chu Feng saw Cui Jingyan, his face wasn't the only thing that turned red, but also a certain other area.

Today Cui Jingyan wasn't wearing a short skirt but a cheongsam instead. However, the slits in that cheongsam were perhaps a bit too high — Chu Feng thought that if they were any higher, they would reach her chest.

Moreover, what Cui Jingyan was wearing wasn't the traditional cheongsam, but a strapless one. The cheongsam couldn't contain her ample 36E bust, which could be described as ready to burst forth.

Today Cui Jingyan wore a jade pendant on her neck, but one could hardly see the quality of the pigeon egg-sized jade nestled deep in her cleavage.

"What are you looking at? You little pervert!" Cui Jingyan's face flushed slightly as she noticed Chu Feng's continuous gaze on her cleavage.

But she really misunderstood the situation, as Chu Feng felt that the jade on Cui Jingyan's chest was very spiritual.

"Sister Yan, I want to take a look at your chest..."

"Pervert! Out!" Before Chu Feng could finish speaking, Cui Jingyan spat out in a flushed fury.

Chu Feng, helplessly said, "Sister Yan, you've misunderstood, I meant I wanted to look at the jade on your chest."

Cui Jingyan's face turned even redder upon realizing her mistake.

Awkwardly taking off the jade pendant from her neck, Cui Jingyan handed it over to Chu Feng and said, "Here, take a look!"

As soon as Chu Feng held the jade, he instantly felt a cool stream of spiritual energy enter his body, and his cultivation made another slight advance, his strength also became a bit stronger.

"Good jade!"

"You understand jade?" Cui Jingyan asked, seeing Chu Feng's contented appearance.

Chu Feng knew Cui Jingyan misunderstood, but couldn't explain, so he said, "I just feel the quality is rather good, that's all."

Cui Jingyan looked at Chu Feng skeptically and suggested, "Since you're so interested in jade, why don't you accompany me to a jade appraisal event tonight?"

Chu Feng had been about to bring up the subject himself, and to his surprise, Cui Jingyan beat him to it. "Great! Shall we go now?" he asked.

Cui Jingyan circled Chu Feng and said, "We certainly can't go now; I need to take you to change into something appropriate, or else they might think I've brought my own son along."

Chu Feng grimaced and said, "Sister Yan, who would believe you have a son as big as me?"

Cui Jingyan replied, "You never know, after all, fortune tellers say I have a shapely behind, good for childbearing. If I had gotten pregnant early, having a son your age wouldn't be too far-fetched."

Chu Feng was utterly defeated and fell silent.

Seeing Chu Feng looking deflated, Cui Jingyan giggled, then grabbed his hand and said, "Come with me; we have three hours, which should be enough time to pick out clothes for you."
