In the wooden cabin alight with fire, everything had returned to calm.
Reiger, who had extended his finger toward the shattered window, witnessed the ghoul's demise and slowly lowered his arm.
Turning around, Reiger looked at the unsightly pot and sighed after a while.
"I suppose this counts as avenging you, rest in peace."
After uttering those words, Reiger walked out of the cabin while swinging his hand, casting a gust of wind that blew the fire from the pot onto the wooden floor, walls, and ceiling.
By the time Reiger had walked a distance from the cabin with his back turned, flames soared behind him, engulfing the entire cabin and setting it ablaze against the darkness of the night, dispelling the darkness of the mountains.
Only then did the sounds of birds, beasts, and insects gradually begin to emerge.
Reiger did not look back, following the mountain path that led down from the cabin and left the mountain.
...
The day gradually brightened.
