Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Three Insurances and One Housing Fund

Inadvertently, when Tang Ming's gaze shifted downward, his whole body immediately turned feverish!

Li Xiaoli was half a head shorter than him, and with her loose spaghetti strap top, it was naturally easy to see her charms from above!

What a sight to behold!

"Tang Ming, why are you having a nosebleed?"

Liu Mengting was taken aback and shouted in surprise.

"It's nothing, the weather is too dry."

Tang Ming wiped the nosebleed with his hand, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Woof woof..."

At that moment, a series of barks came from outside the house. Dingdang Dog rushed in from outside, its chubby body giving it an imposing presence as it ran.

As soon as Dingdang Dog came in, it ran to Li Xiaoli's feet, wagging its tail to get her attention. "Dingdang Dog, did you miss your sister?"

"Woof woof."

Dingdang Dog responded with a flattering bark.

Seeing the dog, Li Xiaoli thought for a moment, "And one more thing, no bullying Dingdang Dog from now on, okay?"

Perhaps understanding Li Xiaoli's words, Dingdang Dog barked twice at Tang Ming, showing off a bit!

Tang Ming just laughed and glared at Dingdang Dog!

Frightened, the dog retreated behind Li Xiaoli, clearly knowing Tang Ming's prowess and not daring to challenge him.

Seeing that the situation was handled, Liu Mengting called Li Xiaoli to the third floor.

Dingdang Dog wanted to follow, but it stopped at the second floor. It evidently knew the female owner's strict rule: no male animals were allowed on the third floor, and that included Dingdang Dog!

Tang Ming returned to his room on the second floor. He had no time to play with the dog; let alone a Shar Pei, he wouldn't even be afraid of facing ten Tibetan Mastiffs!

While on missions in the Primitive Forest, he had eliminated wolf packs that were more ferocious than dogs.

The guest room was spacious, and Tang Ming was quite satisfied with the environment!

An individual bathroom, a sixty-inch LCD TV in the room, and the most pleasing sight—a brand-new, unopened Apple iMac in the corner, its pure white color being a delight to the eyes.

He came to Songlan City to break off the engagement, but now he had to be his fiancée's bodyguard. How did this happen?

Unfortunately, since things had come to this, Tang Ming had no choice. The contract was already signed; there was no way he could just slip away, right?

Though Tang Ming was fearless, both in his mercenary days and now as a bodyguard, he always maintained integrity. Whatever he agreed to, he would strive to accomplish!

Tang X had taught him from a young age that a promise is a promise, which is fundamental to being a person!

"I have a copy of the contract too. I didn't pay much attention at the time. Now I need to review it carefully."

Having thought of this, Tang Ming started looking around the room. He had signed the contract with Uncle Quan here earlier.

Soon, Tang Ming found a few A4 papers on the nightstand and quickly walked over to read them.

"Damn, I have to work for six months to avoid paying a penalty; otherwise, I have to pay at least one million! I've really been screwed this time."

Tang Ming lay on the bed, feeling annoyed for a while. Then he got up, deciding to accept things as they were. He took off his clothes and went straight to the bathroom for a shower, waiting for mealtime to arrive.

In the third-floor bedroom, Liu Mengting changed into pajamas, and Li Xiaoli, knowing her friend's slight obsession with cleanliness, also had a set of clean loungewear she frequently left in the room.

After changing, the two sat on the large round bed. Liu Mengting sighed and said, "Xiaoli, do you think bringing Tang Ming to our school will embarrass us?"

"What?"

Li Xiaoli was startled, looking up at Liu Mengting:

"Meng Meng, you're really planning to take Tang Ming to our school? With his country bumpkin look, he'd probably be laughed at before even entering the gate. How embarrassing!"

"I have no choice. My dad said for my safety, Tang Ming has to accompany me to school."

Liu Mengting sighed helplessly, "Actually, Tang Ming isn't completely useless..."

"What's he good for? He looks like he couldn't even swat a fly."

Li Xiaoli pursed her lips in disbelief, doing a split on the bed as she practiced yoga.

"Yeah, let's have Tang Ming deal with the flies. That way, I won't be bothered."

Liu Mengting got an idea, nodding with sudden inspiration.

"I doubt it! There are plenty of flies with minions at school. With Tang Ming's skinny frame, he'd probably get beaten up so badly on the first day that he couldn't take care of himself."

Li Xiaoli scoffed, suggesting:

"Meng Meng, if you're really going to take him to school, you better buy some insurance first. That way, if he croaks, your family won't lose money."

"You're so right. I need to handle this ASAP."

Liu Mengting immediately picked up her phone to instruct Uncle Quan.

After listening, Uncle Quan was puzzled, "Isn't the young man the master brought back a skilled fighter? Does a skilled fighter need insurance?"

Though curious, since it was Miss's order, Uncle Quan didn't ask further and directly contacted the insurance company to come over.

Getting insurance was simple: just sign, swipe the card, and hand over a copy of the ID card; that's it.

After the insurance people left, Tang Ming rubbed his stomach, asking shyly: "Uncle Quan, when can we eat?"

He didn't care about the insurance. He had long heard that proper jobs come with three types of insurance and a housing fund; maybe this was the three insurances? Tang Ming saw three items on the policy; the housing fund should be the salary!

"Oh, I almost forgot, sir specifically mentioned that you have a big appetite. I've already told the chefs to prepare extra for one more person. This should be enough for you."

Uncle Quan patted Tang Ming on the shoulder, showing concern.

"Uncle Quan, could you ask the kitchen to make enough for at least three more people?"

Tang Ming rubbed his stomach, smiling sheepishly. He had a big appetite.

Uncle Quan was speechless. Was the master's search for a bodyguard or a bottomless pit?

At half-past six in the evening, dinner was finally served in the villa, and Tang Ming welcomed his first meal there.

Entering the dining room, Tang Ming saw six tempting dishes and a soup on the table. Next to them was an oversized wooden rice barrel, filled with fragrant, steaming white rice.

Why aren't they here yet? Tang Ming rubbed his stomach, anxiously waiting for Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli to come downstairs.

After a few minutes, just as Tang Ming was about to drool, the two young women finally came down, chatting as they walked, seemingly in no rush to eat.

"Uncle Quan, why are there only three sets of tableware? Aren't you eating?"

Tang Ming asked curiously, looking at the tableware, and then at Uncle Quan nearby.

"We're the household staff and usually don't eat with Miss. We've already eaten in the kitchen."

Uncle Quan explained with a smile.

"Uncle Quan, I'm just a bodyguard. How about I join you in the kitchen to eat?"

Tang Ming didn't really want to eat with Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli, as those two would likely come up with some weird rules again.

"No way, sir specifically instructed that you'll always eat with Miss from now on!"

Seeing Liu Mengting coming downstairs, Uncle Quan quickly said: "Miss, the food is ready, enjoy your meal."

With that, Uncle Quan turned and left.

Tang Ming stood awkwardly to one side, and only after the two girls sat down did he slowly take his seat.

"Wow, Meng Meng, since when did your family start using such a big barrel for rice?"

Li Xiaoli pointed excitedly at the large barrel of white rice on the table, as if discovering a new continent.
