The last is the Gale Arrow, the only magic artifact arrow, of which each reconnaissance rider has only one. Once activated, this arrow can fly five hundred yards, and its power at that distance equals an armor-piercing heavy arrow.

Ordinary Northern Liao cavalrymen only have enough mana to activate the Gale Arrow once, which is why they come with mana sealed within them, to be released upon firing. Although by the standards of Taichu Palace, the Gale Arrows are crudely made single-use magic artifacts, with them, every Liao knight has the equivalent of one strike from a magic artifact.
