Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 Are You Still Magnanimous?

Ji Wanwan chuckled lightly, "Is there anyone else placing orders?"

This statement was like flipping a switch for everyone; they began clamoring all at once.

The first was Zhang Tao. Tall and burly, he had always done as he pleased in school, and now was no exception.

He knocked down the loudest protester with a punch, then walked towards Ji Wanwan under the fearful gazes of the crowd.

"I want a single room for 10 days!"

Ji Wanwan tapped on the keyboard, "78×10=780, scan the code."

Zhang Tao had just pulled out his phone to scan the code when he suddenly stopped and turned to look at the group behind him.

He dared not strike Ji Wanwan, but that didn't mean he wouldn't strike others.

The boy Ji Wanwan had never seen before stepped forward.

Zhang Tao, with satisfaction, curled his lip, "Scan the code."

The boy, with downcast eyes, silently pulled out his phone.

After receiving the money, Ji Wanwan handed over the room card for A205, "Second floor, on the left hand side, upstairs please."

Having gotten the room, Zhang Tao smiled contentedly, took the room card, and went upstairs.

"Brother Tao!" Seeing that Zhang Tao had ignored her from the beginning, Zhu Qian couldn't help but cry out.

Zhang Tao paused in his steps, turned back to see Zhu Qian covered in dirt, and instantly felt a bit disgusted, "What do you want from me? There are still 4 rooms available, hurry up and book one!"

Clearly, he had no intention of helping Zhu Qian.

Her eyes reddening, she suddenly panicked.

In the past, she had been able to lord it over others in school, all thanks to Zhang Tao's reputation. If Zhang Tao didn't look out for her, who would fear her?

The corners of the boy's mouth who had paid for Zhang Tao twitched almost imperceptibly.

Ji Wanwan did not miss that moment of mockery.

She saw hatred for Zhang Tao in the boy's eyes.

If he hated him, why then did he pay for Zhang Tao?

Ji Wanwan became intensely interested in the boy, and smiled slightly, "You paid for him, do you have enough money to book your own room?"

The boy withdrew his gaze and looked up at Ji Wanwan, "I want a single room for 10 days as well."

Eyes meeting, Ji Wanwan couldn't help but frown slightly.

This face, so familiar!

She felt as if she had seen this boy before, yet she couldn't recall any past interactions with him.

"78 yuan per day, 780 for 10 days, just scan the code."

Ji Wanwan handed over the room card for A206 to the boy, "Upstairs please."

The boy took the room card, but didn't immediately go upstairs; instead, he went to the vending machine, spent 20 yuan for a meal and a cup of water, and sat down in a corner.

Ji Wanwan didn't look at him anymore, but turned her attention to the remaining six people, "There are 3 rooms left..."

With fewer rooms available, the six immediately started scrambling for them.

Zhu Qian, who had always been controlling in school, was shouting herself hoarse, but at this moment, no one paid any attention to her.

"Aren't you always generous? Why compete with us? Go away!"

It was the apocalypse, everyone wanted to survive, are they supposed to be scared of a woman?

They couldn't overcome Zhang Tao; now that Zhang Tao himself had left and no longer cared about her, what right did Zhu Qian, a single woman, have to scream at them?

From arguing initially to fighting physically later, Ji Wanwan did nothing but watch quietly from beginning to end, without any intention of intervening.

After all, with the apocalypse here, she lacked entertainment options, and was quite willing to watch the drama unfold for free!

This farce lasted for about ten minutes before the story found its ending.

Aside from Zhu Qian and a rather frail boy, everyone else had managed to secure a room.

They had all unanimously booked for seven days.

Those who had booked rooms mostly returned to their rooms, while Ji Wanwan turned to Zhu Qian, who stood frozen in the lobby, and asked with a smile, "Still feeling generous?"

Zhu Qian trembled all over and dared not speak again.

Ji Wanwan didn't bother with her anymore, but instead began to calculate whether the remaining 340 yuan could complete the task.

After a quick calculation, Ji Wanwan had a number in her mind.

She lifted her head and couldn't help but size up the boy in the corner who was eating.

It was apparent that the boy was very hungry, but he ate with good manners, not wolfing down his food like a wild animal, which hinted he was from a well-mannered family.

Considering the boy could casually fork out a few thousand yuan, it wasn't hard to guess that his family circumstances were probably quite good.

By now, the boy had finished eating and was getting ready to clear his things and go upstairs to rest.

Even in the refuge, he kept a dagger by his side, indicating that from yesterday to today, he indeed had suffered quite a bit.

Not only that, Ji Wanwan also noticed that the boy's face was abnormally flushed, and his clothes around the waist were somewhat wet, obviously injured, and the wound had started to get infected and inflamed.

If such a big wound wasn't caused by a zombie...

Well, it really is intriguing...

Ji Wanwan fixed her gaze on the boy's waist, her lips pursed with ambiguous meaning.

In a swift motion, she slightly bent over, and beneath the front desk where others couldn't see, she took bandages, iodine, and wound medicine from the System Space.

"What's your name?"

A shadow fell before him, and a gentle voice reached Xu Siming's ears. He fluttered his lashes, slowly lifting his eyelids.

He looked warily at the girl in front of him, his unabashed scrutinizing gaze sweeping over her from head to toe.

The girl wore a comfortable and soft white waist-long dress, with simple and clean white shoes on her feet, long slightly-curled hair cascaded over her shoulders, her smile bright and unblemished.

Xu Siming felt that the girl before him was almost dazzlingly clean, his lips moved, "Xu Siming."

"I'm Ji Wanwan, the owner of this hostel..." she smiled lightly, sitting down on the sofa beside Xu Siming, "the owner."

Xu Siming's eyes fell on the medicine and bandages in Ji Wanwan's hands; there was neither surprise nor shock in his voice as he lazily asked, "Does Boss Ji need something from me?"

Ji Wanwan lowered her gaze to Xu Siming's wound, countering his question without answering, "Are you injured? Also, do you have a fever?"

Xu Siming's expression stiffened, his body noticeably tensed.

Without a word, he adjusted his jacket to cover the wound around his waist.

His guardedness did not escape Ji Wanwan's eyes. She chuckled lightly and pushed the medicine and bandages toward Xu Siming, "You're a guest at the hotel, I don't want you to die here."

Xu Siming tightened his lips, not immediately taking the items.

After a long silence, Xu Siming pointed to a vending cabinet against the wall, his voice cold and firm, "I appreciate your kindness, Boss Ji, but I can buy my own medicine. I don't take charity for nothing, you can take these back; rest assured, I'll try not to die."

After a glance at the basic medicine in the cabinet, Ji Wanwan sighed helplessly, "Quite the little Hedgehog, well, have it your way."

Teased slightly, Xu Siming's ears tinged red, his tone softening, "Thank you, Boss Ji."

Ji Wanwan snorted with laughter, taking the medicine back and returning to the front desk, "System, can you monitor Xu Siming's vital signs for me at any time?"

System: "Yes."

Ji Wanwan: "Okay, notify me immediately if he's in danger!"

System: "Understood, Host."

Although Xu Siming was very cautious, Ji Wanwan was quite optimistic about him; she planned to develop him into a long-term client of the refuge.

Gathering capable people for the refuge, and as it gradually grows, they could all become her helpers, assisting her in managing the refuge.
