XX City Fire Rescue Brigade

20XX, Xth month, Xth day

...

Two men in long robes floated in the air, followed by several souls bound by white light around their waists.

"Are we all here? We're overdue."

"Not yet, let's wait a bit longer. The time given from above is off again."

"Then wait for me for fifteen minutes, I'll go pick up the next one. It's not right to just let him drift at the crossroads."

"Sure, go ahead."

In an instant, the first man disappeared. The second man looked down at the hospital below.

"Ah, in recent years, the timing Lord Zhou from the City God Temple gives us has been getting more and more unreliable. Back in our day, we didn't have such good fortune with so many doctors in the human world."

After a while, the second man pointed his right hand at the hospital, flipped his palm after locating the target, and commanded, "Arise." A streak of white light flashed below, and another soul bound by white light joined the group.

...

"I'm back, we can go now."

"Good, is the next assignment ready?"

"It's been assigned. You take the new guy; I have to head over to Mang Mountain to help out. It'll probably take a few months; consider it a vacation."

"Alright, let's go. Let's get this done quickly."

...

City God Temple Scenic Area, City God Temple.

"Done with the report, done with the report. 2 Good Deeds for 10 Points. Hurry up and register."

The second man approached the cleric and asked in a quiet voice, "Did Lord Zhou go down again today? How long will he be gone?"

The clerk glanced at the doorway and responded, "Probably 3 days. His honor doesn't quite like the new gadget from above. He always says that reincarnation is the proper way, and traveling through other worlds is deviating from the six cycles of reincarnation, vanishing like smoke. There he goes again early in the morning, probably banging his head against a wall to argue with Judge Zhong."

"Well, if he doesn't like it, the Underworld is already overcrowded. With the imbalance of life and death in the human realm, so many people are queuing for reincarnation. What's wrong with sending them to traverse to other worlds? It could at least reduce the queue."

The second man spread his hands and drew a stick of incense from the clerk.

"Speaking of which, since he's not around, can you fill out a form for me? I'll send these two over, so they don't have to wait in line anymore."

"Okay, I'll adjust the record for you. 2 Good Deeds crossed out. Just take them straight through; that door is never closed."

...

Walking to the underground shrine next door, a large gate stood in the middle of the area. The intricately carved double doors were already open, with a number marked on the left pillar, "Transfer Gate Underworld Station 6". A thick fog filled the area around the gate, churning without ever exceeding its boundary.

"For those who perform ten good deeds, they will receive good fortune. I wish you both a smooth new life filled with happiness, joy, and perpetual peace."

The second man bowed to the gate, lit the incense, and gently pushed the two souls into the thick fog. A flash of golden light, and they disappeared without a trace. The second man leaned against the pillar, gazing at the slowly dispersing smoke, lost in thought.
