Among these seven prawns were three species, the first called Long-haired Shrimp, which is locally known as prawn. Well... it seems like all big sea prawns are nicknamed prawn. Besides "prawn," this shrimp is also called White Shrimp, Red-tailed Shrimp, Red Shrimp, and Great Ming Shrimp. The Food and Agriculture Organization officially refers to it as the Red-tailed Shrimp.
This Red-tailed Shrimp is also quite abundant domestically, mainly found in the Indian Ocean and the West Pacific. The fishing season is from October to January. Currently, they are clearly not fully grown yet, and many of them are farmed.
Another species, the Short-groove Shrimp, is also called Black Ring Shrimp, Flower Shrimp, Song Shrimp, Flower-claw Shrimp, Bamboo Shrimp, Bear Shrimp, and it shares quite a few of these nicknames with the Banded Shrimp.
