It couldn't be described as thoroughly satisfying; towards the end, Chi Yue distinctly felt that he was putting in more effort than the last time.
Taking advantage of him going to the bathroom, she asked, "Mr. Fu?"
Fu Rongyin: "Practice makes perfect."
In an instant, Chi Yue felt her heart turn to ashes.
She watched the tightly shut bathroom door and picked up her clothes to put them on.
After leaving the neighborhood, Chi Yue hailed a cab back to her apartment, took a bath, and prepared to rest, when the hospital called again.
"Miss Chi, your mother has been taken to the emergency room, please come quickly."
Chi Yue hurriedly changed her clothes, grabbed her keys, and left the house.
It was difficult to hail a taxi at that time, and the occasional one that passed by was not empty.
Chi Yue tried to hail a ride on her phone, but no drivers accepted the booking.
That's how life is sometimes; when you have a leaky roof, it inevitably rains. When a car passed by, it just happened to drive into a water puddle next to her, splashing her skirt with muddy water.
Chi Yue expressionlessly gazed at herself, looking as if she'd just crawled out of a mud pit. She wiped her face once, and when she looked up again, a sports car had stopped in front of her.
The man who got out of the driver's seat was Chu Shuo, the man she had met at Fu Rao's wedding.
"Miss Chi? What happened to you...?"
Chi Yue: "Just crawled out from a mud pit."
Chu Shuo tugged at the corner of his mouth, "Where do you need to go? I'll take you."
Chi Yue looked up, her captivating apricot eyes clear and bright, "Could you hail a cab for me? I'm worried about dirtying your car."
Chu Shuo didn't expect her to say that and laughed, "I was just about to get my car washed."
Chi Yue hesitated for a moment before saying, "Thank you, could you please take me to the hospital?"
After getting into the car, Chu Shuo offered her tissue paper and asked only after starting the car, "Are you not feeling well?"
"Not me."
Chu Shuo: "A family member of yours?"
"Yes."
Seeing Chi Yue was not in the mood to talk, Chu Shuo didn't ask any further.
The car stopped at the entrance of the hospital. Chi Yue thanked him again, then walked away without looking back.
The area outside the emergency room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.
Chi Yue stood at the door, looking at the closed door, lost in thought.
Soon, footsteps echoed down the hallway, followed by an anxious voice, "Yueyue, are you all right?"
The newcomer was Nan Bingyu, Chi Yue's best friend and someone whom Chi Qingqing had failed to win over despite her great efforts and energy.
Seeing Chi Yue covered in dirt, Nan Bingyu quickly pressed the bag she was holding into her hands, "Hurry and change, I'll wait here for your aunt."
Chi Yue, too, was afraid that Bai Qing would see her like this, so she quickly changed her clothes and washed her face in the restroom.
When she returned to the entrance of the emergency room, the light was still on.
The clothes Nan Bingyu bought for her were chosen according to her own taste—showing off what should be shown. She glanced at Chi Yue's figure, her waist and the curves of her chest clearly defined, when her eyes suddenly fixated on her collarbone.
"Yueyue, who did this to you?!"
If she remembered correctly, Chi Yue had always been chaste. Even when Fu Rao broke up with her, it was because Chi Yue refused to sleep with him. How could she... so soon after their breakup?
Back then, Chi Yue had been even more conservative about such matters than her own parents.
Chi Yue followed her gaze and said nonchalantly, "I slept with Fu Rongyin."
"Fu... Fu Rongyin?"
Nan Bingyu gasped in shock. Although it was an inappropriate moment, she still gave Chi Yue a thumbs up.
If you don't sing, nobody notices; but when you do, it's a revelation—she had actually snagged that man!
