"You're committing a crime, do you know that?"
Luo Meili, tied to a chair, shouted loudly.

A flamboyantly dressed woman charged forward and slapped Luo Meili hard across the face, leaving her mouth bloodied.
This woman was Hu Lili, Wang Dalong's wife, and Wang Xiaolong's stepmother.
Hu Lili was thirty-eight this year, while Wang Dalong was nearly sixty, a typical May–December marriage.
Luo Meili glared at Hu Lili, saying with resentment,
"I came here to do business with you. You could have refused to sell the Wang family assets to me, but what is this supposed to be?"
"Pah!"
Hu Lili, with a fierce look in her eyes, retorted at Luo Meili.
"If it weren't for a vixen, a jinx like you, Old Wang wouldn't have been caught, would I need to flee?"
"Hey, Lili, you can't just say that. If it weren't for this woman, we wouldn't have the chance to be together. She has helped us out."
