Chapter 10 - Chapter 8: Selling Ginseng

Zhang Shan naturally didn't believe Li Xiaobao's words. Among other things, he was working in the fields every day and had only seen Li Xiaobao come a few times, always with Zhou Cuihua busy around.

"Ah, Uncle Zhang, just believe me once," Li Xiaobao pleaded, patting his chest as Zhang Shan still didn't believe him.

"Uncle Zhang, just trust Xiaobao once, all our crops in the field are his doing, that's why they've grown so well." Watching Li Xiaobao's anxious look, Zhou Cuihua from a distance believed even more that the state of the crops was related to the day Li Xiaobao had fainted.

"Yes, Dad, just believe him once," Zhang Ling said to Zhang Shan, although he wasn't very optimistic about Li Xiaobao.

"Alright, I will believe you this time; I don't mind half a day's time anyway." Zhang Shan mainly trusted Zhou Cuihua's words, as she had been busy in the fields from the start.

Just as Zhang Shan hesitated, Li Xiaobao had already secretly started to channel his Wood Element Spiritual Energy into the Zhang family's rice field.

"Eh? Dad, why do I suddenly feel a cool breeze?" Standing in the middle of the field, Zhang Ling suddenly felt a coolness around her, and the temperature had dropped several degrees.

"Uncle Zhang, just you wait and see." Li Xiaobao looked at Zhang Ling and Zhang Shan, chuckled, said a word to Zhou Cuihua, and then headed home, feeling a bit dizzy from just having channeled the Wood Element Spiritual Energy into the Zhang family's rice field.

Li Detian saw Li Xiaobao coming back home before noon and immediately became infuriated, but before he could start nagging, Li Xiaobao went straight into his own room and fell into a deep sleep.

"Ah!" Watching Li Xiaobao's behavior, Li Detian helplessly shook his head.

By evening, when it was almost dark, Li Xiaobao felt hungry, got up, and just happened to see Zhou Cuihua come home and had already prepared the food; he gobbled down his meal.

"Slow down, don't choke," Zhou Cuihua said with a smile as she watched Li Xiaobao eat.

Xiaobao, where are those seeds you brought in? I can't seem to find them," Luo Guiying said as she helped serve Li Xiaobao during the meal.

"Uh... Mom, you don't need to worry about that, I'll take care of it," Li Xiaobao responded hesitantly upon Luo Guiying's inquiry.

"This child!" Watching Li Xiaobao finish eating and then going into his room, Luo Guiying shook her head helplessly.

Li Xiaobao went into his room, collapsed onto his bed, and entered the Five Elemental Space, eager to see how his medicinal herbs had turned out.

As soon as he entered the Five Elemental Space, Li Xiaobao was startled to see the patch of ginseng he had planted earlier; the ginseng had grown wildly and was obviously ready to be harvested.

"Goodness, this is miraculous." Even though Li Xiaobao had been prepared, he was taken aback, crouched down, and dug out a ginseng, which startled him even more.

Li Xiaobao had seen ginseng before and had specifically checked online because he thought ginseng was easy to grow, which had led him to buy extra ginseng seeds.

Easy to grow it was, but Li Xiaobao didn't expect it to be this easy to grow.

"No way, I'll harvest them all." Li Xiaobao saw the ginseng covering the ground and immediately his face lit up with joy.

After working all night, Li Xiaobao felt a sore back and aching waist, but after cleaning up, he left the Five Elemental Space and fell into deep sleep again.

The next day, before dawn, Li Xiaobao began to hurriedly load the ginseng onto his old tricycle, but he soon realized a serious problem - his broken tricycle simply couldn't hold that much.

Having no other choice, Li Xiaobao decided to sell one load first, as the ginseng wouldn't spoil in his Five Elemental Space.

"Xiaobao, what are you doing?" Just as Li Xiaobao was loading the cart, Zhou Cuihua, Li Detian, and Luo Guiying had gotten up, and they were stunned when they came out and saw it.

"Xia...Xiaobao, where did this ginseng come from? What are you doing?" Zhou Cuihua stared at the cart full of ginseng, frozen in place.

"Didn't I buy seeds the other day? They've grown, and I'm planning to sell them in the city," Li Xiaobao said nonchalantly to them.

"Wait!" Li Detian became anxious when he heard this; he had been planting for decades and had never encountered such a scenario.

"Ah, Dad, please step aside, I'll talk to you when I get back tonight." Li Xiaobao ignored Li Detian and rode the tricycle toward the city.

By the time he reached the city, it was almost noon, and without even having time for lunch, he went straight to the traditional Chinese medicine shop where he had bought the seeds last time.

As soon as he entered, Li Xiaobao was recognized by Wu Xiaoli, the shop owner's daughter, who came up with a mocking smile, "What kind of seeds are you planning to buy this time?"

"Let's put off the matter of buying seeds. I've got some ginseng; see if you want it," Li Xiaobao's words made Wu Fengqing, who was sitting at the counter, startled.

Watching Li Xiaobao's demeanor, Wu Fengqing said, "Young man, our shop might not be big, but we only deal in genuine goods, we do not accept substandard products."

Substandard? Li Xiaobao was stunned by the owner's words; he had never sold medicinal herbs before, but he felt his ginseng, being so large, couldn't possibly be substandard even if not premium.

Seeing Li Xiaobao's reaction, Wu Fengqing was even more convinced that what Li Xiaobao had brought was substandard.

"How about this, follow me and see for yourself; it's right at the door. If it's substandard, then forget it," upon hearing this, Wu Fengqing and his daughter glanced at each other, nodded, as it would not take much time since it was just at the entrance.

However, they were both stunned as soon as they stepped outside the store. The cart full of ginseng was brown, the surface looking aged and glossy. It had dense, deep spiral ridges and a thick, exotic fragrance was gathered in front of the store.

"Young...young man, did you grow this ginseng?" Seeing the cart full of ginseng, Wu Fengqing's legs were rooted to the spot; he had dealt in ginseng for many years and had never seen such high-quality ginseng.

"Of course. So, what do you think? Boss, do you want my ginseng after all?" Seeing the boss's expression, Li Xiaobao knew his goods couldn't be bad.

"Yes, all of it, however much you have, and at a high price," Wu Fengqing said excitedly to Li Xiaobao, "Come on, young man, let's talk inside."
