Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Hatred and Attitude

After exchanging a few playful words with Wu Xuelan, Yang Fan saw the branch road leading to the village by the national highway.

Normally, this stretch of road would take at least forty minutes to walk, but today he hadn't even realized it, and here he was, already at the village.

Time flew by, just like the blink of an eye.

Yang Fan's three-wheeler turned right, heading onto the paved road towards the village.

Continuing along this road toward the mountains for another twenty minutes, the large locust tree at the entrance to Shicheng Village could be seen from afar, standing like a guard with its crown touching the clouds.

It being the breezy month of March, the locust tree was sprouting tender leaves.

At a glance, the vibrant green was pleasing to the eye.

Shicheng Village, also known as Shicheng Post Village, was an ancient postal station, reportedly in use for nearly six hundred years. To this day, remnants of ancient city walls could still be found around the village.

Approaching the village entrance, Wu Xuelan gently patted Yang Fan's arm and said, "Fanzi, just drop me off here. It wouldn't be good if people saw us entering the village together. I can walk the rest of the way back."

"What's the harm? It's just a coincidence that I'm giving you a lift—no one can make anything of it," Yang Fan replied.

Wu Xuelan laughed playfully, "But I feel guilty, like a thief."

"Even if you feel guilty as a thief, sister-in-law, you wouldn't reveal your true thoughts, would you? Who could know about our affair?" Yang Fan said with a smile.

"What if it shows on my face and people notice? You're aware of how poisonous the gossips in the village can be. Just because a young girl has a stomach ache and sees a doctor, they accuse her of being loose," Wu Xuelan shook her head.

Although some women in the village really had sharp tongues, Yang Fan thought Wu Xuelan was being a bit too cautious.

However, since she was insistent, it wasn't good for Yang Fan to say much else. He simply went along with her wishes.

After Wu Xuelan moved her pert buttocks, twisting her voluptuous waist to get off the vehicle, Yang Fan, after some thought, couldn't help but ask, "Sister-in-law, when can I come to see you next time?"

"That depends on how you behave," Wu Xuelan said with a sly twinkle in her eye, winking at Yang Fan.

Indeed, Yang Fan had made her feel good today.

The long-neglected field had received a thorough plowing, thoroughly stirring Wu Xuelan's desires.

But she was worried that Yang Fan might think her an easy woman, particularly since the place where Yang Fan had encountered her was in Zhou Weixiong's bed. So, she deliberately played hard to get.

Yang Fan was somewhat puzzled, "Or maybe, sister-in-law, you could give me a hint?"

He genuinely couldn't figure out what kind of attitude Wu Xuelan was looking for.

"You blockhead, just think about it yourself," Wu Xuelan said with mock displeasure, laughing softly as she glanced sideways at Yang Fan before turning to walk away.

Her perky, round buttocks undulated with her steps, swaying with a rhythmic bounce and full of elasticity.

Yang Fan's Adam's apple moved slightly as he twisted the throttle to catch up with Wu Xuelan and surreptitiously pinched her voluptuous buttocks. The shockingly resilient feel made his heart skip a beat.

Wu Xuelan moaned softly, turning her head and pretending to glare at Yang Fan in annoyance, "Stop it, what if someone sees? Go home quickly."

"But I really can't figure it out, sister-in-law," Yang Fan said with a smile.

"Well, you can't blame me then, darling. If you want meat, you've got to work hard for it!" Wu Xuelan giggled coquettishly, her ample bust heaving up and down provocatively.

Yang Fan was utterly confused, like a monk who had lost his scriptures, and since Wu Xuelan flatly refused to explain, he had no way of dealing with this woman.

However, it was clear there would be a next time; it all depended on what kind of attitude Wu Xuelan demanded.

It surely wouldn't come down to serving tea and waiting on her, would it?

With this in mind, Yang Fan too headed home.

No sooner had he set foot inside the doorway than he heard the thunderous cursing of his stepmother Zhou Wenhu.

Yang Fan couldn't help but silently lament; his stepmother was great in every aspect, except her sharp tongue was a bit too much to handle.

Today, he had no idea who had provoked her.

After parking his three-wheeler in the shed to one side of the courtyard, Yang Fan crept towards the doorway sneakily.

He planned to survey the situation first, lest he get splattered with blood.

Yet, just as he rounded the corner, he saw his Little Mother Zhou Wenhu and his sister-in-law Ye Tong sitting outside the warehouse sorting through medicinal herbs.

Now, there were not many medicinal herbs left in his warehouse, just some pricier ones.

He was planning to wait for the right moment to sell when the market was more favorable.

At this moment, however, the entire warehouse looked as though it had been robbed, with its contents haphazardly scattered all over the floor.

Making his way over in a few quick strides, Yang Fan asked anxiously, "Little Mother, sister-in-law, what happened here?"

"That godforsaken beast Shen Lin did this!" Zhou Wenhu fumed. "And that old bastard came by today to make threats, saying he'd ruin our family!"

Ye Tong simply gave him a tender smile without saying anything.

Yang Fan nodded, ignoring Zhou Wenhu's continual cursing as he walked straight into the warehouse.

Seeing the scattered herbs all over the floor, his anger rose instantly, and he felt a surge of fury.

He was going to kill that bastard Old Wang!
