Ye Wenhai didn't know how long it had been when he put down the third red-headed document, the telephone in the study began to ring.
Upon hearing the ringtone, Ye Wenhai extinguished his cigarette and picked up the phone, "Hello."
"Dad, it's me." Ye Long's voice came through the handset.
"What made you think to call home?"
Ye Wenhai was slightly startled, as due to the special nature of Ye Long's work, not to mention his rare visits home throughout the seasons, the chances for even a phone call were few.
"Dad, I might not be able to return for Old Master Ye's birthday."
On the other end of the call, Ye Long quickly said as he dodged the members of Yanhuang Organization's Punishment Hall who were monitoring his call.
"Work is important, I believe your grandfather will understand," Ye Wenhai said after a moment of contemplation, then added, "However, if you can come back, try your best to do so."
"I understand."
