"I've had a thousand thoughts in one night about you. That which I haven't had in a hundred years."
.
"Ah-choo!"
Belladonna sniffed, sitting up from the makeshift bed, a thin mattress laid directly on the cold floor. She wrapped some blankets tighter around her freezing body, grateful for Ethan's generosity in sharing them.
The young boy laid beside her, his arms splayed out in abandon, seemingly impervious to the chill.
As she gazed around the dimly lit garden shed, her eyes adjusted to the faint light seeping through the wooden slats. Crates of cabbages and lettuce stalks lined the walls, casting shadows as burning lamps dim lights were as well placed on.
Snow dust covered some parts of the floor, having slipped in through the gaps in the wooden planks. The shed's rustic construction allowed frequently, cold breeze to pass through, making Belladonna shiver.
