Chapter 1 - Chapter One: The God

In the East of the lands there was a God who was born, he roamed the lands lost and confused with no idea of how he came to be or who he was. He would walk through dry, wet, and cold lands never stopping, for the God thought if he walked far enough he could find an answer to his confusion. One day as he kept walking something wet dripped on his cheeks, he paid it no mind thinking it was just another rain. But the land his feet touched was dry, confused he looked up and saw clear skies and white clouds. Then he felt it again, another wet drop, the confused God then touched his face, then his eyes, and realized that the wet drops were coming from him.

He then panics, trying to figure out what it is, for the first time since the God came to be he stopped walking. He stopped.

The God crouched onto the ground, holding and pounding his heart, it hurts. His heart really hurt, the God looked up and begged for help. But who could help him, what could someone do to help a God, someone powerful, and immortal?

As the God lay down on the ground with his tears, the sky began to also cry with him. The wet rain drenched him, and he let it. He thought to himself how good it would be to just become one of the droplets of rain. Feeling no pain nor confusion, but to just drop freely with no significance. How good would it be, he thought to himself as he closed his eyes.

The God felt a shake, "wake up" the voice said loudly. The more he tried to ignore the voice the stronger they shook him, "WAKE UP". This time he listened. As he opened his eyes he saw a skinny boy.

"Finally you're up"

The God stared at him, he saw a tan boy with dark dusty red hair, orange eyes, and a scar going from the bottom of his eyes to the neck. But what stood out to him the most was the way he looked at him with a bright smile, showing his crooked and yellow teeth.

"You're him right", he leaned closely to him "You're the God that brought rain to us, you're the God who's going to save us."

The God stared at him, the boy stared back curiously. After a while, he got up to start walking again.

"Wait stop, where are you going"

The boy chased after him and grabbed his hand.

"Please stop, you can't leave, please. You're our God, you brought us rain and saved us from the drought. Our food is growing now, we have water, we have people who will live now. Please don't leave, don't leave us please." As the boy cried out, the God stared in amazement, that a tiny boy could let out such a big cry.

The boy looked up, the God flinched, for what he saw in his eyes was life. It was then that the God felt his heart pound. The pounding of his heart and the boys's cry were in rhythm. It was as if his heart was telling him to listen to the boy, to help him.

"W-w-wait, w-w-what if I s-show you" As he stuttered, she took a moment to control his breathing. After breathing in and out, he looked up with reddened eyes and stared at the God-determined.

"Come with me please, let me show you" he reaches towards the God with a tiny hand "I will show you."

The God stood there in silence for a very long time, yet the hands that reached out to him never wavered. He who saw this decided to trust the tiny girl. So he took his hand.

As he dragged the God through the soft grass, he felt the winds blowing around, peace was what he felt. Then he heard sounds that were similar to the boy, as they got closer the sounds of the winds were dominated by the voices.

"I BROUGHT HIM" As the boy yelled the voices went silent. Then they looked at the God, some in awed, and some in fear.

"Is it you, the one who brought the rain?" an old woman asked.

The God stared at him in silence, then nodded. They all gasped and bowed to him, he heard multiple voices thanking him, and some started crying. The boy still holding his hands looked up at him with a smile.

"You saved us, please keep saving us. We don't have much to give you but please you're our hope. We will give you our life." The people all looked at him and agreed with the boy.

"My name is Fern, and my husband died four days ago from starvation. He gave up all his food to me and our unborn baby", a woman with a large belly stepped out, "If you hadn't shown up and given us rain, I'm afraid we would have followed after him soon. I don't have anything to give but my heart and life to you, and so will the child I carry when they are born", she said so strongly that the God felt his heart pound again.

The God stepped towards the woman and touched her stomach. He felt his hands tingle as he heard laughter, a small innocent laugh. He felt his body float to the sound, and for the first time the God smiled. The people looked at him in bewilderment, upon seeing his smile they felt their body being rid of all their worries.

"It's a girl."

His voice was soft and quiet, but they heard. The woman reached to hold his hand but stopped upon seeing her hands calloused and dirty, but the God seeing it, grabbed her hands and held them tightly.

"It's a girl", he said again. The woman smiled and let out a cry filled with happiness, the God then heard more cries. His eyes meet the boy who brought him here, the God smiles at him. Without speaking the boy understood what the God wanted to say.

 He was gonna stay.
