Previously, after discussing with everyone and inviting them to join our new forming club . The club is now renamed to mysterious phenomena club, and it's all on fate if we can complete this dream of ours…
----
After talking to Mei about the mysterious phenomena club, I went back to Kaito and relayed what she told me. His expression shifted from curiosity to amusement, and he chuckled.
"Mysterious phenomenon, huh? That sounds exactly like something Mei would suggest."
"Yeah, it's... well, it's Mei," I replied, shrugging. "You know how she is."
Takashi, who had been leaning on the nearby wall, grinned. "Man, that actually sounds kinda fun. Who knows what weird stuff we could dig into."
Kaito scratched his head. "I don't know… do you think the student council would even approve something like that?"
"I mean, it's unique," I said. "They might find it interesting."
Kaito thought about it for a moment and then nodded. "Alright. Let's go with it. We need a hook to make the club stand out, and that's definitely out of the ordinary."
"Glad you're on board," I said with a laugh. "But the student council president is going to have a lot of questions."
Kaito glanced at his watch. "Speaking of which, I should probably go see him now. You coming along?"
"Sure," I agreed, tagging along with him as we made our way toward the student council room.
---
When we got there, we found the president sitting behind his desk, flipping through some papers. His eyes shifted up when he noticed us enter, and he raised an eyebrow. "Kaito, Izumi. What brings you two here?"
Kaito took a seat, and I followed. The room had a somewhat formal air, and I could already tell this wasn't going to be an easy meeting.
"We're here to discuss forming a club," Kaito began, his tone steady.
The president leaned back in his chair, folding his arms. "Forming a club, huh? Alright, let's get into the specifics." He leaned forward slightly, his fingers interlacing. "Why do you want to form a club, and what exactly is it going to be about?"
"Well," Kaito started, "we want to form a mysterious phenomenon studying club. It would be a place where we investigate strange events, supernatural occurrences, and anything unusual."
The president raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued but skeptical. "A mysterious phenomenon club? Sounds... unique, to say the least. But what do you actually plan to do? How will this club function?"
"We'd research different cases, theories, and even look into local legends or phenomena. It's part research, part hands-on investigation," Kaito explained.
The president nodded thoughtfully, then hit us with another question. "How many members do you have?"
"We've got five confirmed members," Kaito replied confidently. "Enough to meet the requirements."
"Alright, five is the minimum," the president said, tapping his fingers on the desk. "But maintaining a club isn't just about starting one. Are you going to be able to keep it going long-term? You'll need to show consistent activity. How do you plan on doing that?"
Kaito took a deep breath, clearly prepared. "We'll keep track of our investigations and present our findings regularly. Plus, there's a lot of interest in supernatural topics nowadays. I'm confident we can keep people engaged."
The president studied Kaito for a moment before asking, "Who's going to be the club president?"
"I will," Kaito replied without hesitation.
"And how will this club contribute to or benefit the school?" the president asked, his tone turning more serious.
Kaito paused for a moment, choosing his words carefully. "Well, by studying mysterious phenomena, we'll be developing research skills, teamwork, and critical thinking. Plus, we might even uncover things that bring attention to the school—local legends, strange happenings. It could bring a fresh perspective."
The president didn't look fully convinced. "I see… but you're proposing a club that's out of the ordinary. It might take more than just enthusiasm to keep it running."
Kaito leaned forward slightly, determined. "We've already discussed it with our homeroom teacher, and they've given us permission to move forward."
The president raised his eyebrows. "You've already got approval from the teacher?"
"Yep," Kaito nodded. "They were surprisingly supportive of the idea."
The president drummed his fingers on the table, deep in thought. "Alright, last question: What is the main focus of the club? If someone asked what the core goal is, what would you say?"
Kaito didn't miss a beat. "The core goal is to explore the unknown, whether that's strange events, supernatural occurrences, or unexplained phenomena. We're curious about the world around us, and we want to understand it in ways that others might not think of."
The president leaned back, folding his arms again, his face unreadable. "Interesting... You make a good case. But keep in mind that forming a club is only the first step. Keeping it active and showing results will be the real challenge."
Kaito smiled. "We're ready for that."
The president let out a small sigh, though it sounded more approving than dismissive. "Alright. I'll approve your club application. But don't make me regret it, alright?"
Kaito and I exchanged a relieved glance. "Thank you, president. We won't let you down," Kaito said.
As we stood up to leave, the president added, "I'll be keeping an eye on your progress. Make sure you make it worth everyone's time."
"Will do," I said, as we were about to leave the room.
The president stopped us " Hey two of you wait a moment, take an escort to your new club room" .
The president leaned back in his chair and looked to one of the student council members sitting nearby. "Sakura, can you show them an unallocated room for their club?"
I didn't even notice her before she was called out .She was apparently browsering through some files on the shelves in the room. She totally his her presence!
Sakura, a petite girl with sleek black hair and sharp eyes, walked towards the president. "Sure thing, President." She stood up, turning toward us with a polite smile. "Follow me."
Kaito and I exchanged glances, excitement brewing between us. This was it, the first step to building our new club.
We followed Sakura down the hallways of the school, navigating through different sections that we didn't usually frequent. She led us to an older part of the school building, and as we walked, she explained, "This room hasn't been in use for a while, but it's in decent condition. It's smaller than a regular classroom, but it should be enough for a club like yours."
When we arrived, Sakura opened the door and motioned us inside. Kaito and I stepped in and immediately started looking around.
"This... is perfect," Kaito said with a grin, his eyes lighting up. "It's half the size of a classroom, but it's exactly what we need."
I nodded in agreement, looking at the space. It had a simple layout—a few desks piled to one side, a chalkboard at the front, and a couple of dusty shelves near the back. The windows on the far side let in enough sunlight to make the room feel cozy, and the walls were plain but sturdy.
Kaito wasted no time and immediately started imagining where everything should go. "Alright, first things first. We'll need to clear out those desks and move them against the walls. This area over here—" he pointed to the back of the room—"is going to be our research and document storage area. We can put some filing cabinets and shelves there."
I could already see his mind racing with ideas. "Yeah, good call," I agreed. "We'll probably need some extra furniture too, like a big table in the middle for meetings."
Kaito nodded vigorously. "Exactly. We'll need a round table, something where we can all sit and discuss. Also, we'll need a section for equipment, you know, for any investigations we do. Maybe some whiteboards to brainstorm ideas."
I glanced around, trying to envision it all. "Yeah, and we should definitely bring in a couch or something comfortable for people to sit on while we work."
Kaito clapped his hands together, his excitement contagious. "Yes! A couch in that corner, with maybe a coffee table in front of it. We could even set up a mini fridge for drinks and snacks."
I chuckled. "You're really going all out, huh?"
"Of course! If we're going to have a mysterious phenomenon club, it needs to feel mysterious but also comfortable," Kaito said, already pacing around the room, pointing at where things should go.
I joined him in planning. "We could put some posters on the walls, maybe of famous unsolved mysteries or legends. That would set the atmosphere."
"Great idea," Kaito nodded. "We'll need the lighting to be just right, too. Maybe some dim lamps for late-night research sessions."
I leaned against the wall, nodding along. "And don't forget a projector. We might need it to present our findings or theories."
Kaito paused, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "This room is going to be perfect. We can really turn it into something special."
Sakura, who had been quietly observing, smiled and handed Kaito a set of papers. "You'll need to sign these documents to finalize the room allocation," she explained. Kaito quickly scribbled his signature, clearly eager to get started.
"Thanks for cooperating, and have fun with your new club," Sakura said with a small bow, before turning to leave.
As she walked out, Kaito and I looked at each other, the weight of what we were building finally sinking in. "Well," I said, grinning, "we've got the room. Now we just need to get it ready."
Kaito smirked, looking around. "This place is going to be awesome. We'll have everything we need. It's just a matter of time."
I chuckled. "Yeah, but we're definitely going to need some help moving all this stuff in and getting things set up."
Kaito nodded. "I'll round up Takashi and Yumi. Between the five of us, we can handle it."
I leaned back against the wall, feeling a strange sense of accomplishment already. "So, where do we start? Clearing out the desks?"
Kaito glanced at the pile of desks and chairs near the window. "Yeah. Let's get those moved to the back first. Once we finish these let's go and call the others
I replied with "mhmm"
Back in the classroom, Mei, Yumi, and Takashi were gathered, chatting with each other by the windows. The sunlight filtered through, casting a warm glow over their conversation. Takashi was laughing, probably at something Yumi had said, and Mei had her usual composed smile, though I could tell she was listening closely.
Kaito and I exchanged a glance, grinning. We approached them, and I couldn't hold back the excitement any longer.
"Everyone! We've finally gotten ourselves a club of our own!" I announced, throwing my arms out like a triumphant hero.
They turned toward us. Takashi's eyes widened in surprise, while Yumi gave a small gasp of delight. Mei simply raised an eyebrow, as if she was expecting the news.
"No way, you did it?" Takashi blurted out, standing up so quickly his chair scraped against the floor. "You actually formed the club?"
"Yup," Kaito chimed in, stepping forward. "The president approved it, and we even got a room! A real club room!"
Yumi clapped her hands together. "That's amazing! I didn't think it'd happen so quickly."
Mei smiled softly, her arms crossed. "So, we're official now? A proper club?"
Kaito nodded, puffing out his chest a little. "Absolutely. And we even have a room where we can plan all our mysterious phenomenon investigations."
"Wait, mysterious phenomena?" Takashi raised an eyebrow, looking between us. "What kind of club did you guys form exactly?"
I rubbed the back of my neck sheepishly. "Well... you see, Mei kind of wanted a 'Mysterious Phenomenon Studying Club.' So that's what we went with."
Takashi blinked, and then a grin split across his face. "Oh man, I like that. We're gonna be ghost hunters or something? That sounds like fun!"
Yumi chuckled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Ghost hunters, huh? Well, count me in. I've always wanted to figure out if the school library is actually haunted."
Mei shrugged. "It's more about solving strange occurrences. Not necessarily ghosts. But, sure, if there's a haunted library, we'll investigate."
Takashi slapped a hand on my shoulder. "Izumi, this is gold. We're going to be the coolest club in school."
I tried not to laugh at his enthusiasm. "I hope so, Takashi. Though... we'll probably just be the weirdest."
"That works for me," he replied, grinning.
Mei looked at me, a glint in her eyes. "So, when do we start?"
"We can start as soon as we set up the room," Kaito said, pulling out his phone. "I've already got ideas for how we can arrange everything."
Yumi leaned in. "What kind of setup are we talking about? Spooky candles? A big round table like a séance?"
Kaito chuckled. "Not quite. I'm thinking a cozy place for brainstorming, researching, and planning our investigations. Maybe a corner for our equipment, shelves for files, that sort of thing."
Takashi jumped in, clearly enjoying the thought. "And we definitely need some cool posters, maybe a corkboard for clues."
"Oh, like one of those detective boards where we can connect clues with string!" Yumi added excitedly.
I nodded, feeling the excitement build in the group. "Exactly. It'll be our headquarters for all the strange and unexplained stuff that comes our way."
Mei crossed her arms, looking thoughtful. "We should probably start with small cases. Get a feel for how we work together before diving into anything too crazy."
"Good idea," I agreed. "It'll give us a chance to test the waters. See how we handle investigating weird stuff."
Takashi leaned back, stretching. "I can't wait. This is gonna be awesome."
Yumi smiled warmly. "It'll definitely be fun. We're all in this together, right?"
"Absolutely," Kaito said, his grin widening. "This club's going to be something special."
Mei gave a small nod of approval, her usual quiet confidence returning. "We'll make it work. Together."
The energy in the room felt lighter, buzzing with excitement and anticipation. This club wasn't just an idea anymore—it was happening. And as I looked around at my friends, I knew we were all ready to dive headfirst into whatever mysterious phenomena we'd come across.
As we all basked in the excitement, the door suddenly creaked open. The room went silent, and a tall figure stepped in—our history teacher, Mr. Igarashi. His stern eyes scanned the room before locking onto Kaito, who still had his phone out.
"So... you've all decided to form a club?" Mr. Igarashi's voice was deep, almost too serious for the moment.
"Yes, sir," Kaito replied nervously. "The Mysterious Phenomenon Studying Club."
Mr. Igarashi's expression shifted slightly, a flicker of amusement crossing his face. "Interesting choice. I suppose I should warn you... this school has more mysteries than you'd think."
Takashi leaned forward, intrigued. "Like what, sir?"
Mr. Igarashi gave a cryptic smile. "Let's just say, if you dig deep enough, you might uncover something you're not ready for."
The room went quiet, a chill running through us. Just as quickly as he arrived, Mr. Igarashi turn
ed and walked out, leaving the atmosphere heavy with curiosity.
"Did... did that just happen?" Yumi whispered.
Kaito grinned, eyes gleaming. "Looks like we've already got our first mystery."
