Previously ,a new transfer student has join our school but why do I feel this uncanny attachment to her,did I ever met her ?
With that, I averted my attention and got ready for the next class.
Finally, it was lunch break! I had been waiting for this, as I did every single day. But today, I had another reason—to get another look at Mei. The more I looked at her, the more convinced I became that she was the girl from yesterday. Usually, I had my lunch at my own seat, but today I decided to follow Mei. She seemed to be getting a lot of attention from everyone in the class, mostly the guys. A new girl always attracts attention, and they just couldn't help themselves.
I headed to the terrace, only to find Mei surrounded by a group of other girls. They were chatting animatedly, so I decided not to approach her for now. Instead, I sat on a bench on the terrace and started to eat my lunch, my thoughts still swirling around the mysterious new girl.
As I was eating my lunch, someone approached me. I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't notice him until he spoke. "Hello, mind if I sit next to you?"
I snapped back to reality and said, "Oh, sure." I gave him a little space to sit.
"Thanks," he said, sitting down and starting to munch on his lunch.
I felt awkward and too shy to just leave, so I tried to start a conversation. "Mmm, hello."
He looked at me and smiled. "Oh, hello. Wait...you're from my class, right?"
I didn't quite remember people's faces, so I just nodded, hoping he was right.
"I'm Takashi," he said, his golden yellow hair catching the sunlight. He was a handsome guy, and almost every girl in our class seemed to like him.
"Such a lucky guy," I thought to myself.
"I'm Izumi," I replied, finally remembering him.
We finished and wrapped up our lunches, making small talk. As we headed back to class, I glanced at Mei, still curious and uncertain about her. Then, I continued on my way, the questions about her still lingering in my mind
The next day, I tried to approach Mei again, but she didn't leave the classroom, making it impossible for me to talk to her. The day after that, she was absent. On the third day, it was perfect. She was on the terrace, and nobody was around her. I took the opportunity and walked over to her, feeling extremely nervous.
"Hello, Misaki-san," I said.
She looked up and replied, "Oh, hello."
Using the same words Takashi had used with me, I asked, "Mind if I sit next to you?"
"Hmm, sure," she said, sliding a little to the left to give me some space. As I sat down, my nervousness went into overdrive. Intrusive thoughts flooded my mind: what if she was bothered, what if she hated me now, what if she didn't like the way I asked her, what if I broke her meal time...
As my thoughts ran wild, Mei broke the silence. "Mmm, so do you want something from me?"
I quickly calmed myself and said, "Yes...I mean no...well, yes, kind of." She probably noticed my nervousness and asked, "It's fine, you can ask me anything," she said with a smile. Her smile gave me a sense of relief.
"I was just wondering," I began, "do you like it here? I mean, at this school?"
"It's alright," she said, looking thoughtful. "I haven't been here long, but everyone seems nice enough. How about you?"
"I guess it's okay," I replied. "I've been here for a while. Not many friends, though."
"Really?" she said, genuinely surprised. "You seem like a nice person. I'm sure you'll make more friends soon."
"Thanks," I said, feeling a bit more relaxed. "By the way, do you have any hobbies?"
"I love reading," she answered, her eyes lighting up. "Especially manga. How about you?"
"I like reading too," I said, smiling. "Manga and light novels."
Suddenly, Mei stood up from the bench with a serious expression. "Well, I'll catch up with you later," she said, walking away quickly. Just before she was out of sight, she turned and said, "Please don't follow me. I'll fill you in later." She then walked down the stairs.
I sat there, puzzled, as the breeze blew through my hair. "I wonder if I said something wrong," I muttered to myself. There was still a lot of time until the next class, so I decided to wait for her.
After a while, as I was looking into the distance, I noticed some kind of commotion. Banners from a minimart were scattered all over the roads, and there were sounds—probably things being broken. I thought it might have something to do with the mysterious girl from the other day, so I rushed downstairs and sneaked out of the school. I didn't care about the consequences and ran towards the mart, pushing myself as hard as I could.
The streets were in chaos. People were running in every direction, shouting and pointing towards the minimart. My heart pounded as I got closer, and I could hear the sounds of destruction more clearly—glass shattering, metal bending, and that same monstrous roar from before.
When I finally reached the mart, I saw it. Another monster, similar to the one from before but even more terrifying. It had six legs this time and was rampaging through the store, its eyes glowing with a menacing red light.
I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. My body was already aching from the sprint, but I couldn't just stand there and do nothing. I had to find the mysterious girl. If she was involved in this somehow, I needed to know.
I circled around the mart, trying to avoid the monster's sight. My heart raced as I ducked behind a car, my eyes scanning the area for any sign of her. The noise was deafening, and the ground shook with every step the monster took.
Then, amidst the chaos, I saw someone standing on a rooftop nearby. It was Mei. She was holding a small, ornate object in her hand that seemed to glow faintly with a bright bluish hue. As she focused, the glow intensified, enveloping her hands in a radiant blue aura. The energy pulsed and flickered, casting an otherworldly light around her.
"Mei!" I shouted, trying to get her attention. She glanced in my direction, her eyes widening in surprise.
"Izumi! What are you doing here?" she called back.
"I came to find you! What's going on?" I replied, struggling to make my voice heard over the noise.
"There's no time to explain! Just stay back and stay safe!" she shouted, her voice firm and commanding.
Before I could respond, the monster roared and charged towards the building Mei was on. She jumped down, landing gracefully despite the height, and faced the creature head-on. The ornate object in her hand began to glow brighter, the bluish aura engulfing her hands and extending up her arms. She looked like an ethereal warrior, radiating power.
The monster swung a massive fist at her, but Mei dodged effortlessly, moving with supernatural speed. She struck back, the blue aura around her hands flaring as she landed a powerful blow on the monster's torso. It roared in pain, stumbling backward.
The monster roared in frustration and lunged at Mei, its six legs pounding the ground with each step. Mei met its charge head-on, her movements swift and precise. She ducked under a sweeping arm and countered with a punch to the monster's abdomen, the blue aura around her hand exploding on impact. The monster recoiled, but quickly recovered and swung again.
Mei blocked the blow with her forearm, the aura shielding her from the worst of the impact, and retaliated with a kick to the monster's knee, causing it to stagger. She followed up with a rapid series of punches, each one infused with the blue energy, striking the creature's chest and head.
The monster lashed out wildly, its massive fists crashing into the ground and walls, but Mei was always a step ahead, dodging and weaving through its attacks. She leaped onto its back, driving an elbow into the base of its skull. The monster roared and twisted, throwing her off, but she landed on her feet, ready to continue the fight.
Suddenly, the monster landed a solid punch, sending Mei flying through the mart's wall. I gasped as she crashed through the debris. The monster followed, smashing through the entrance. Thankfully, the store was empty. I wanted to see their fight and help Mei if possible, so I slipped inside.
As I entered, I saw Mei standing up from the fall, now looking angry. The blue aura around her hands started to shift, turning into a fiery red. Her hair changed too, growing longer and turning a vivid red, with light emanating from the ends before settling into its new length. It hit me then—the mysterious girl from the other day was Mei.
After her transformation, Mei seemed more powerful. The red aura now engulfed her entire arms, crackling with energy. She charged at the monster, moving even faster than before. Her punches and kicks were a blur of red light, each hit echoing with a thunderous impact.
The monster swung wildly, trying to land a hit on Mei, but she was relentless. She dodged and countered with such ferocity that the creature was visibly weakening. At one point, it managed to land a heavy blow, sending Mei crashing into the roof and cracking it. But she recovered quickly, launching herself back at the monster with a fierce determination.
The battle inside the mart raged on. Mei, now with her fiery red aura, exchanged fierce blows with the monster. Each strike echoed with the force of her power, but the monster was relentless. With a mighty punch, the creature sent Mei crashing into a wall. She tried to stand but fell to the ground, weakened.
As she fell, I noticed a strange symbol on one of her cheeks—a four-petaled flower, but it was missing two petals. Mei managed to keep her balance and sit on the ground, but she was clearly exhausted. The monster began to recover, rising slowly and menacingly.
Seeing Mei in such a vulnerable state, I knew I had to do something. I grabbed a metal rod lying nearby and charged at the monster. I swung the rod with all my might, hoping to knock the creature away. But this monster was different—it was much stronger. My hit didn't even faze it.
The monster turned its attention to me and charged. Just as it was about to strike, Mei shot a beam of energy at it, distracting the creature. I took the opportunity to run back to her.
"Mei, what is going on?" I asked, my voice trembling with fear and confusion.
"I told you not to follow me," she replied, blood starting to flow from her mouth. "Mei, are you okay?" I asked, panic rising in my chest.
"I think you should run away," she said weakly.
"No way, I'm not leaving you here," I insisted. "Is there any way I can help?"
After a moment of hesitation and a little disagreement, she finally said, "Alright, if you become an underling of mine."
I nodded, knowing that this was the only way I could stay and help her. "I agree," I said firmly.
Mei gave a faint smile, her red aura flickering. "Alright, then. Help me stand."
I helped her to her feet, supporting her weight as best I could. The monster was regaining its composure, preparing for another attack. Mei began to chant in a low, melodic voice, words I couldn't quite understand resonating with power.
"By the ancient bonds and the power that flows through the aether, I call upon the pact of old. Bind our fates, entwine our destinies. As master and servant, our strengths unite and our hearts as one. Do you, Izumi, accept me as your master?"
I felt a strange energy enveloping us, pulsing with every syllable she spoke. As the chant reached its climax, she looked into my eyes, her gaze intense and unwavering.
"Yes," I replied, feeling the weight of the words settle over me. "From now on, I am your servant."
A brilliant light surrounded us for a moment, sealing the pact. Mei's aura intensified, and I felt a surge of strength and determination. The monster roared, readying itself for its next assault.
With our pact forged, Mei's energy flowed into me, and I felt a newfound power coursing through my veins. "What do we do?" I asked, now more confident.
"We need to hit it together," Mei said, her voice firm. "I'll channel my energy into you. Just aim for its head."
I nodded, feeling the energy from her aura begin to flow into me. It was intense, almost overwhelming, but I held on. I felt as if my body became lighter
With the new pact formed, I felt a surge of power course through my body. I now charged at the monster, feeling as if my body was lighter than usual. My movements were swift and precise, and I fired a flurry of punches at high speed. There wasn't an aura like Mei's, but I definitely felt a lot stronger.
Each punch landed with a satisfying thud, pushing the monster back step by step. I kept raining punches on it, my fists moving almost of their own accord, guided by the energy flowing from Mei. The monster roared in frustration, trying to counter, but my newfound speed and strength made it difficult for it to land a hit.
Finally, I gathered all the energy I could muster into one last punch. As my fist connected with the monster, I noticed a faint smoke emanating from it. The blow sent the monster flying backward, crashing into the ground with a resounding thud. It lay there, defeated, no longer moving.
Breathing heavily, I looked down at my hands, still tingling with the remnants of the power Mei had shared with me. I turned to Mei, who was now standing more steadily, a faint smile on her lips.
"We did it," I said, barely believing it myself.
"Yes, we did," Mei replied, her voice filled with relief and pride. "Thank you, Izumi. You were incredible."
With the monster defeated, the once chaotic mart now lay in eerie silence, save for the occasional crackle of debris settling. I approached Mei, who was still recovering from the intense battle. My legs were trembling, and the surge of power that had fueled me moments ago was now ebbing away, leaving me completely drained.
"Are you alright?" I asked, concern lacing my voice.
Mei nodded, wiping a trace of blood from the corner of her mouth. "I'll be fine. The pact has given me a bit of your strength as well."
I tried to smile but could barely stand. My legs gave way, and I collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily. Mei quickly knelt beside me, her eyes filled with worry.
"You're exhausted," she said softly, helping me sit up.
"I used everything I had," I admitted, my voice weak. "I can barely move."
Mei looked around the damaged store. "We need to get out of here before anyone comes."
I nodded weakly, trying to muster the strength to stand. Mei slipped her arm around my shoulder, supporting me as best she could. Each step was a struggle, but with her help, we made our way out of the mart, leaving the wreckage behind.
The journey back to the school was arduous. My legs felt like lead, and every step was an effort. Mei, despite her own injuries, never let go of me, her presence a steadying force.
"We're almost there," she encouraged, her voice calm and soothing.
I nodded, focusing on putting one foot in front of the other. The school building came into view, and with it, a sense of relief. But I knew we couldn't just walk back in, not after what had happened.
"How are we going to explain this?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
Mei glanced at me, her expression thoughtful. "We'll think of something. Right now, you need to rest."
We reached the edge of the school grounds, finding a secluded spot where we could sit. I collapsed onto the grass, my body completely spent. Mei sat beside me, her presence comforting.
"Thank you," I said after a while, looking up at the sky. "For everything."
Mei smiled faintly, the red aura around her beginning to fade. "We're in this together now. You did great, Izumi."
I closed my eyes, letting her words sink in. Despite the exhaustion, I felt a sense of accomplishment. The pact we had formed was more than just a bond of power—it was a promise to stand by each other, no matter what.
As I drifted into an uneasy sleep.Mei admitted me to the school infirmary. She supported me as we made our way through the quiet corridors, her steps steady despite her own injuries. The school nurse, a kind-faced woman in her forties, greeted us with a look of concern as soon as we entered.
"What happened?" she asked, her eyes widening at the sight of our disheveled appearances.
Mei quickly fabricated a story. "He fell during gym class. I think he overexerted himself."
The nurse nodded, ushering me to a bed. "Let's get him settled. You too, dear—you look like you could use some rest."
I lay down on the crisp white sheets, feeling the cool fabric against my skin. While the nurse checked my wounds. Mei sat in a chair beside the bed, watching over me with a worried expression.
As I rested, the events of the day played back in my mind. The battle with the monster, the formation of the pact, the surge of power—it all felt like a surreal dream. But the aches in my body and the exhaustion in my limbs were very real.
"You're lucky to have someone like her," the nurse said softly as she finished tending to me. "She brought you here just in time,I was about to leave."
I glanced at Mei, who gave me a reassuring smile. "Thank you," I murmured to both of them.
The nurse patted my shoulder. "Get some rest. I'll be back to check on you later."
As the nurse left the room, Mei leaned closer, her expression serious. "We need to be more careful. The pact gives us power, but it also links our fates."
I nodded, understanding the weight of her words. "I'll be more careful."
Mei's face softened. "Good. Now, rest."
I drifted in and out of sleep, the sterile scent of the infirmary mingling with the faint aroma of antiseptic. Each time I woke, Mei was there, her presence a comforting constant. The pain in my body gradually subsided, replaced by a lingering fatigue.
By the time the nurse returned, I felt a bit more like myself. "How are you feeling?" she asked, checking my vitals again.
"Better," I replied, my voice stronger than before.
"Good," she said with a smile. "But take it easy for the rest of the day. No more overexertion."
I nodded, grateful for her care. As the nurse left, Mei turned to me, her eyes reflecting a mix of relief and determination.
"We'll get through this," she said quietly. "Together."
I reached out, squeezing her hand. "Yes, we will."
With that promise hanging in the air, I closed my eyes again, letting the comforting presence of my newfound ally lull me into a peaceful sleep.
In the end she told me that she would explain me about everything wierd that is being going around and also what that pact actually does but only after I get a sweet sleep,oh such a kind girl…
