Shiro's POV
After revealing my abilities to everyone, I pulled All Might and Recovery Girl aside. The tension in the room hadn't fully lifted, and I could see Recovery Girl's eyes glancing between us as if wondering if all of this was truly real. "Let's head to your office," I told her, signaling that it was time to start the healing process. She gave a curt nod, still in disbelief at what I claimed to be able to do. All Might just followed, his face showing a mix of hope and hesitation.
Once we arrived, I gestured to one of the beds. "All Might, you'll need to remove your shirt and lie down," I instructed.
He hesitated for a moment, as if reluctant to expose the extent of his injuries. But eventually, he complied, his scarred body a silent testament to the long, brutal fight he'd been enduring since his battle with All For One.
After a quick scan of his body, I saw the extensive damage. His respiratory system and stomach were in worse condition than I thought. I nodded to myself. "This will take time," I warned him, "but I can fix it."
All Might smiled faintly. "I've been fighting so long with this injury, I almost forgot what it's like to be whole."
I began by giving him anesthesia to numb the pain during the procedure. The advanced medical and surgical knowledge I acquired from the gacha kicked in, and suddenly everything felt effortless. Almost too easy. I could see the clear steps in my mind—cut, remove, replace, heal.
I used a fine tool created with my Herrscher powers to make a precise incision. As I carefully worked on the damaged tissues, I couldn't help but marvel at how fast and efficiently I could recreate his muscles, tendons, and nerves. Piece by piece, I replaced the old, battered parts of his body with new and healthy ones. The process was fluid and calculated, each step meticulously executed.
An hour passed, and we were nearing the most critical stage of the operation: his damaged stomach and respiratory system. This part required more caution, and I decided to do it differently. I began removing the damaged parts while simultaneously reconstructing them in real-time. I had to maintain a delicate balance, keeping the environment sterile, isolating us from the air in the room by forming a protective barrier, and filtering out any potential contaminants.
Recovery Girl, who was observing from the side, muttered, "I've never seen anything like this before…"
I grinned. "Me neither."
All Might's body responded well. Every minute felt like progress, and slowly but surely, his organs were restored to their original state. The hardest part was keeping the air clean. I couldn't let a single microorganism or virus slip in, not while his body was vulnerable.
After two hours, I was done. Mentally exhausted from using thought acceleration but relieved. All Might's body was whole again.
I wiped my brow and glanced down at the man. "How do you feel?" I asked.
All Might's eyes fluttered open slowly, and he let out a soft breath, almost in disbelief. "I... I can breathe easily," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "I haven't felt this strong in years."
"You'll need rest, of course," I said, standing up and gathering my things. "Recovery Girl will make sure you recover properly."
He stared up at the ceiling for a moment before turning his head toward me. "Thank you, Shiro. You've given me something I thought I lost forever."
I offered him a small nod before leaving. The weight of what I had just done settled in my mind as I made my way to the rooftop. The early morning breeze was refreshing, but my mind was restless.
I stood there, gazing out at the city below. What to do next? I had plenty of options, but nothing that required immediate attention.
There was always the option to jump to another world and help my friends. Naruto had just returned to Konoha, according to Hinata, so no world-ending threats there yet. In Tatsumaki's world, the S-class had formed about a year and a half ago, and I still had about a year before canon events would really start. Megumi was training his newly acquired holy powers, and he had yet to meet Yuji. I knew I had more than five months before anything major happened in his world. Bruce was facing the usual Gotham chaos, no sign of Darkseid or Steppenwolf yet. Peter had mentioned something about fighting Captain America, meaning it was before the whole Mad Titan saga started. And Rose... well, she still had around ten days before the Triwizard Tournament really kicked off.
I sighed. I had about two and a half months of free time before the training camp and the inevitable battle with All For One. Free time—what a concept.
But there was something else that had been on my mind lately: Eri. I'd heard rumors about quirk-suppressing bullets circulating through the underground. The intel had been scarce, but Overhaul had been too secretive for anyone to pin him down—until now. Recently, bits of information had started to trickle through. I had enough to follow up on, and I wasn't about to let a child suffer if I could help it.
I clenched my fist.
The door to the rooftop creaked open.
Turning around, I saw Aizawa step through, his usual tired expression in place. "I figured I'd find you here."
"Needed some air," I replied.
Aizawa leaned against the railing beside me, his eyes scanning the skyline. "You really healed him, didn't you?"
"Yeah," I nodded. "He'll need some time, but All Might's basically back to his prime."
Aizawa stayed silent for a moment before speaking. "You keep surprising us, Shiro."
I chuckled. "That seems to be my thing."
He glanced over at me, his eyes more serious. "Why were you holding back?"
I tensed but didn't say anything.
"You have all this power, but you've been careful not to show us everything. I get it—you have your reasons. But if you're going to face what's coming, you need to know you can rely on us."
"I know," I replied quietly. "I'm was not hiding anything that'll put you all at risk. I just... there were things about me I couldn't explain."
Aizawa nodded, accepting my half-answer. "Just know that you can always rely on us."
I smiled. "I know."
With that, Aizawa turned to leave. "You're meeting Nezu later, right? Don't be late."
I waved him off. "Yeah, yeah."
As he left, my mind shifted back to Eri. It was time to focus on saving her. Overhaul wouldn't stay in the shadows much longer, and I needed to be ready to act before it was too late.
The question was: how far will he be willing to go to stop me?. Because once I start investigating he will know I am after him from his connections.
As I stood on the rooftop, staring at the horizon, I knew that no matter what, I wouldn't let any child suffer under the weight of a cruel world. Not if I could help it.
It was time to make my move.
