"Sir, your meeting notes," Lilith said, her professional smile in place as she handed him the neatly printed documents. She studied his face, searching for any hint of acknowledgment.
He nodded, his expression remaining impassive as he took the papers from her hands. Their fingers grazed briefly, and for a fleeting moment, she thought she saw something in his eyes—perhaps surprise or curiosity—but it was quickly covered by his usual cold expression.
Lilith kept her own face neutral, careful not to give away her thoughts.

After office hours, Lilith found herself walking back home, the streets quiet and dimly lit. Boredom settled in as she replayed the day's events in her mind. Despite her earlier excitement, the thrill of starting a new job had faded, replaced by a sense of monotony.
As she walked, a chill crept into the air, making her shiver slightly. She wrapped her arms around herself, feeling an unusual sensation. Was this what humans called cold? she wondered. It was a strange feeling, something she had never fully experienced in her previous life.
Her thoughts wandered to the peculiarities of the human world—their emotions, their sensations, and how they seemed to be intertwined. She thought about Sebastian.
The way he had brushed against her hand lingered in her mind, leaving her with an inexplicable feeling.
With her heart racing slightly, she picked up her pace, eager to return to the warmth of her home.
She was affected by a normal human doll; it was weird to think about him.
However, her thoughts were abruptly interrupted when she suddenly heard a muffled cry coming from the alley.
"Leave me alone, please!" The voice was trembling, filled with fear.
Lilith's expression darkened as she quickened her pace toward the sound. The scene that unfolded before her was heart-wrenching. A group of creepy men surrounded a little girl, their silhouettes menacing against the dim light.
The girl's big black eyes were filled with tears, reflecting her pure terror. Her dress was torn and dirty, clinging to her small frame as if it was the only thing holding her together. It was a pitiful sight that ignited a fire within Lilith, stirring emotions she had long buried.
Without a second thought, Lilith stepped into the alley, her heart racing. I won't let them hurt her. The familiar strength began to swell inside her, pushing her forward.
Her powers.
"Hey! Leave her alone!" she shouted, her voice dangerous and fierce.
The men turned at the sound, surprise flickering across their faces.
"She is hot, Boss!" one of the men jeered, his eyes greedily roving over Lilith's figure, especially fixating on her chest.
Lilith's eyes flashed with coldness, her expression shifting from fierce to dangerously playful. "Of course, I am... but you won't think that when I burn you alive," she smirked, her voice dripping with confidence.
The men exchanged glances, uncertainty flickering in their expressions for just a moment.
Then, one of them burst into laughter, and soon the others joined in. "Hahaha!" they guffawed, the sound echoing off the walls of the alley.
"Look at her! She thinks she's tough!" one of them scoffed, shaking his head as he wiped a tear from his eye.
Lilith stood her ground, unfazed by their mockery. Let them laugh.
"Trust me, you won't find it so funny when the flames start licking at your heels," she warned, a confident smile playing at her lips.
The laughter died down as the mens paused hearing her.
"What's a little girl like you gonna do?" another man sneered, trying to regain control of the situation.
Lilith stepped closer, her expression is mysterious. "I'm not just any girl," she replied, her voice low. "I'm someone you don't want to mess with."
The little girl watched wide-eyed, a flicker of hope igniting in her eyes.
"Now, are you going to let her go, or do I need to show you what I'm really capable of?" she challenged, a dangerous edge in her voice.
The men hesitated, glancing at each other, but suddenly they started laughing even louder, their raucous cackles echoing off the alley walls.
Impatient with their mockery, Lilith kicked one of them sharply in the shin. The man yelped, doubling over in pain. In a flash, she moved like lightning, sweeping through the group with a fierce grace. Before they could react, she had thrown two of them to the ground, their bodies thudding heavily against the cold pavement.
The little girl stared up at her with wide eyes, her mouth agape in shock.
"Close your mouth, or a mosquito will fly inside," Lilith said, chuckling as she turned to the girl. The lightness in her voice belied the fierce energy radiating from her body.
The mens gaped, their laughter fading as confusion and fear replaced their mind. Lilith stood tall, hands on her hips.
"Now, how about you let the girl go and scurry off before I decide to really have some fun?" she challenged, her expression fierce and playful.
One of the men, still on the ground, scrambled backward, glancing nervously at his comrades. "We were just... just joking around," he stammered, his bravado crumbling.
Lilith stepped forward, her gaze unwavering. "Funny how jokes can turn into a painful reality." She leaned down closer to the fallen men, her voice low and dangerous. "Now, unless you want to test my patience, I suggest you make yourselves scarce."
The men exchanged frantic looks, and one by one, they began to retreat, scrambling away from Lilith and the girl. As they fled, the alley fell silent, the echoes of their laughter replaced by the soft sounds of the city.
Lilith straightened up and turned to the little girl, who was still staring at her in disbelief. "Are you okay?" she asked gently, her fierce expression melting into one of warmth.
The girl nodded, her eyes shining with a mix of admiration and relief. "You... you were amazing!"
