Chapter 2 - First kill and skill

"And headshot, haha."

"Fuck, that was loud. I should've wished for a silencer too."

"Well, to be fair, I highly doubted it would even work. It feels so weird to use a gun in a fantasy world."

Even though I landed a headshot, the wolf surprisingly stood up again and lunged at my left hand, catching me off guard and sinking its teeth into my flesh.

"Ahhh, fuck, fuck, fuckkk, it hurts like hell."

My hand was bleeding heavily, and it was becoming more dangerous the longer this lasted. I needed to act quickly.

Even though I didn't want to resort to this, I had no choice.

Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang

"Huff, huff."

"Finally dead, huh."

This world is too dangerous; even a wolf nearly killed me despite having a gun. I have to take this seriously. If I want to return home, if I want to survive, I'll have to do whatever it takes to get stronger.

"Ahhh, my hand is bleeding too much. I'll have to use a wish again, but this time, I need something to help me recover more reliably."

I pulled up the system panel, gritting my teeth as the pain in my hand worsened.

"System, I need a healing ability that gets better the more I'm hurt."

Please state your wish.

"My wish is that my regeneration speed starts at a base value of 1. Whenever I'm injured, this value should increase by 1 in a linear fashion—+1, +1, +1—until I'm fully healed."

Granted.

Regeneration Ability: "Everlasting Renewal" acquired.

A warm sensation spread through my body, as though the system was rewiring me from the inside out. The pain dulled, and I could already feel the bleeding slowing down as the wound on my hand started to close—faster and faster.

"Okay, this is more like it," I muttered, watching in amazement as my flesh knitted itself back together. My regeneration was slow at first, but the more time passed, the faster it became. This could be a game-changer; if I don't die immediately, I will always survive.

The immediate danger had passed, but this world was clearly filled with threats. I couldn't let my guard down. If I wanted to survive long enough to figure out a way back home, I'd have to stay sharp, keep using the system, and get stronger.

But for now, I needed to find a safe place to rest, recover fully, and plan my next move. The journey had only just begun.

This place looks like the Amazon forest but twice as dense and with trees five times taller.

"I will survive for some time in this forest and after three to four wishes, I will escape this forest and go to a city."

"System, show me the cooldown."

Everlasting Renewal:-

Description: This ability grants continuous regeneration with an initial base rate of 1. Whenever the user is injured, the regeneration rate increases linearly—+1, +1, +1—until the injury is fully healed. Additionally, the user is ageless and immune to the effects of aging, maintaining their current physical state indefinitely. ]

I stared at the system panel, the glowing text reaffirming my new ability. Agelessness, huh? It took a moment for the realization to sink in. I wasn't just healing faster; I'd never age. No more worrying about growing old while stuck in this crazy world. It was both reassuring and a little surreal.

I glanced down at my hand, now completely healed. The pain had vanished, replaced by a curious sense of invincibility. If I was stuck in this world for a long haul, at least I wouldn't have to worry about my body failing me due to age.

"This is definitely a game-changer," I said out loud, trying to wrap my head around the idea. "But it doesn't mean I can let my guard down. This place is a death trap, and I've got to stay alert."

I took a deep breath and began to assess my surroundings again. The forest was dense and ominously quiet now, save for the occasional rustle of leaves. The towering trees seemed even more imposing up close. I had a plan to survive and eventually escape this forest, but I needed to make the most of my situation.

"Okay," I muttered to myself, "I'll stick around for a while, gather resources, and use my wishes wisely. After a few more, I can start thinking about making my way to a city. This forest is a nightmare, but if I can survive it, I'll be ready for whatever comes next."

I spent the next few hours searching for supplies and setting up a makeshift camp. I found a small clearing where the trees were less dense and began to gather wood and leaves to make a shelter. Every now and then, I checked the system panel to remind myself of my progress and ensure that everything was in order.

As night fell, I huddled in my shelter, with desert eagle on my chest , staring out at the darkened forest. The canopy above blocked most of the starlight, creating a suffocating darkness. The occasional snap of a twig or distant growl reminded me that this place was still as dangerous as ever.

"I've survived one day," I thought, lying down on my makeshift bed. "I can do this. One day at a time."

With that resolve, I drifted off to sleep, my thoughts focused on the challenges ahead and the promise of a future escape. The journey was far from over, and every day would bring new obstacles. But with "system " on my side, I was ready to face whatever came next.
