Chapter 6 - Finally got a rare item on the 4th morning with Rina (2)

After this, I apologized to Rina for being rough, but she said it felt the best so far.

Rina seems to like both doing and having things done to her forcefully.

After Rina left, I laid out the gacha items in my room.

Slightly Good Leather Armor, a High-quality Knife, and the bastard sword "Sword of Exorcism"

The leather armor fits me perfectly. The knife is an ordinary knife but seems sharp. The bastard sword is a one-handed sword but with a long grip so it can be used two-handed as well. Come to think of it, Japanese katanas are like that too.

I tried swinging it around in the room, but I have zero sword skills so I don't know what I'm doing. I might need to at least learn proper stance from someone.

So, I've done the gacha four times now, and I'm trying to see if there's any pattern...

The differences in the fourth time when I got the rare item are:

*Clothed sex, but that's probably not relevant.

*Standing doggy style, but that's probably not related either. If you could get better results by changing positions, there'd be no point to the gacha.

*The pleasure of sex might be related, but I'm trying to feel good every time, so that doesn't help much.

*What about the girl's side? Rina did say the fourth time felt the best.

In the end, I need to increase the sample size to really understand.

Now, since I don't have any luggage, I decided to check out. Let's go to the Adventurers' Guild first. I've got armor and a rare weapon now, so my adventure is finally starting.

So, off to the Adventurers' Guild.

As expected, I applied for registration with the receptionist (who's much younger than me), and she gave me an adventurer's card for one gold coin. It says G-rank. Pretty standard stuff.

By the way, there was no magic power measurement, no job registration, and no skill appraisal. Seems this isn't a game with job classes. Well, I don't even know if this world is inside a game or not.

There was also no cliché of weirdos picking on newbies, so I decided to look at the request board. The jobs available for G-rank are things like cleaning sewers and helping with moving. Feels kind of like part-time work.

Among them, there was a typical herb-gathering job, so I decided to take it.

I went back to the reception to hear the details and got a sample pressed herb. Apparently, the demand is always there because the components disappear after two days.

I was told the general location and that they grow in the shade of trees. By the way, I was warned to be careful of goblins. For G-rank, it's better to run away from goblins, but if I manage to defeat one, they'll buy the magic stone. Pretty standard stuff.

I bought food at the market and headed towards the mountain where the herbs are supposed to be.

About two hours of walking.

At first, I couldn't find the herbs at all, but once I figured it out, I found quite a few. Just to be sure, I put them in my item slot and it displayed [Herb], so it must be the real thing.

After gathering herbs for a while, I decided to have lunch. When I took out the grilled meat I bought at the market, it was still warm. Looks like time doesn't pass in the item slot. This could be really convenient.

Goddess, I'm sorry I said it was standard equipment. It really is a cheat ability.

"Grrrr"

While looking for herbs, I encountered a green humanoid. About one meter tall. Holding a club. I see, so this is a goblin. It's alone, so maybe I should try fighting it.

"Status Open!"

As I was fumbling around trying to select the Sword of Exorcism from my items... the goblin attacked.

For now, I dodge the goblin's attack and run away. It's chasing me, but goblins aren't that fast, and I feel like I'm getting less tired than when I was in Japan. Maybe thanks to the increased vitality.

I look back to check the distance with the goblin, and calmly take out the Sword of Exorcism.

It's heavy. I grip it with my right hand and support it with my left hand underneath. Is this right? I try swinging it but I have no idea. Oh well.

As the goblin charges at me, I thrust the sword tip with all my might, and the long-reach sword pierces the goblin's head.

The sword passes through the goblin without any impact, and the goblin falls and disappears in black smoke.

This isn't because I'm amazing, it's purely the power of the weapon. Rare weapons are incredible.

Where the goblin disappeared, there's one glittering stone. Is this a magic stone? Probably.

I decided to head back to town at this point.

At the Adventurers' Guild buyback counter.

"Five herbs, and good quality too. And a magic stone from a goblin, defeated by a G-rank? Well done."

"Well, it was just luck."

"Those guys attack in groups, you know. A lot of people die, so be careful."

That's a bit scary.

"The herbs are fresh, so five stalks for two and a half silver coins, and half a silver coin for the magic stone. Three silver coins in total."

I see, it's hard to earn money as an adventurer. By the way, I still have five more herb stalks left. They won't go bad in the item slot, so that's good. But still.

"Magic stones are cheap, huh?"

"There are people who bring in large quantities of magic stones. Fresh herbs are expensive because they don't last long."

I see. It's a supply and demand issue. Oh, right!

"Is there someone here who can teach me how to use a sword?"

"There is, what kind of sword?"

"A bastard sword."

"Was there someone like that... wait a moment."

After searching, they found an old man adventurer who could use a bastard sword. I decided to learn the basics from him, negotiating for one gold coin for three days.

I'm not sure if it's expensive or cheap. If I think of it as one night at the brothel, it might be cheap.

I seem to have developed a habit of normalizing prices based on sex.
