With Hado Nejire and Togata Mirio around, the difficult decision for the three girls was easily solved... or rather, it was solved by Senior Hado.
"What's the problem? (*^▽^*) Let's try everything out!!"
Hado Nejire, with her lively and cheerful personality, was acting like a kid at the amusement park, ready to try all the rides.
With Hado leading the way, the three girls decided to follow her steps. After all, this trip was meant to cheer up Midoriya Izuku, so they all just decided to have fun together!
Roller coasters, haunted houses, bumper cars... after all these exciting attractions, everyone was exhausted.
While the three girls and Hado Nejire went to buy drinks, Midoriya Izuku and Togata Mirio sat tiredly on a bench... both were physically worn out, but their hearts felt even heavier.
After all the activities, Midoriya didn't feel any happier. In fact, he was even more frustrated... Why had he even come to the amusement park?
Togata Mirio was staring up at the sky in silence. He was wondering why he ever thought it was a good idea to invite Hado Nejire. If he'd known, he would've just followed them secretly, avoiding this exhausting ordeal.
When the girls left, Midoriya Izuku, feeling a bit bored and curious, asked:
"Mirio-senpai... I didn't expect you and Hado-senpai to have this kind of relationship?"
"......"
Togata Mirio, embarrassed and not wanting to answer, regretted not listening to All Might's advice... He had really gotten himself into a mess, and now he couldn't explain himself.
Mirio-senpai's silence made Midoriya Izuku feel awkward, and he quickly turned his head away... He knew he'd asked something he shouldn't have.
The atmosphere became tense and awkward, so Midoriya Izuku couldn't sit still anymore and stood up.
"Well, I'll go get some ice cream…"
He decided it was best to step away for a moment and just wait for Hado-senpai and the others to return. With that thought, Midoriya headed off to buy ice cream.
Midoriya Izuku's departure didn't go unnoticed. Hidden in the shadows, someone was watching, and their actions began in the dark…
Holding an ice cream cone with a few extra in a bag, Midoriya prepared for the hot summer weather, making sure there would be enough for everyone.
As he was returning to the group, he walked down a small alley when he suddenly heard hurried footsteps.
"Pat-pat! Pat-pat!…"
The footsteps were light and soft. Curious, Midoriya stopped and wondered, was someone walking without shoes?
Just as he turned his head toward the alley, a small girl suddenly dashed out and bumped into Midoriya's legs, falling to the ground.
"Are you okay?!"
Midoriya quickly bent down and helped the little girl up, only then noticing the problem.
The little girl in front of him looked about the same age as Kouta, probably around 7 years old. She was wearing just a dress and had no shoes on, and her arms and legs were wrapped in bandages... Was she hurt?
Another thing about her was the horn on her forehead, sticking out like the "demon horns" in Japanese folklore. Midoriya guessed that this was probably a manifestation of her Quirk.
The girl, who had been helped to her feet, kept her mouth tightly closed, but her eyes were full of tears, making Midoriya think she had hurt herself when she fell. He panicked, unsure how to comfort her.
"Sorry... This is the ice cream I just bought. If you don't mind, can you accept it as an apology from your big brother?"
Midoriya handed her the ice cream he hadn't eaten yet, offering a kind smile, hoping it would stop her tears.
The little girl stared at the ice cream. Sweets were always the biggest temptation for kids. She hesitated and asked timidly:
"Umm... can I really eat it?"
"Of course, it's an apology from me!"
Midoriya gave her the ice cream, watching as she carefully licked the cold, creamy treat. Finally, he felt relieved.
Standing next to her, Midoriya glanced at the dark alley she had come from. This little girl must have run out of there, right?
Who is this child? What's with all the bandages on her? And those footsteps earlier... was she running away?
A series of questions filled Midoriya Izuku's mind, and after the little girl finished her ice cream, he kindly asked:
"Umm... My name is Midoriya Izuku. Can you tell me your name?"
"E... Eri..."
After realizing Midoriya was a kind big brother, the little girl, though still a little shy, told him her name.
"Then, Eri-chan, did you get separated from your parents?"
Midoriya innocently asked, but Eri immediately looked down and began crying.
"My dad disappeared... My mom doesn't want me..."
Eri's sobbing reply made Midoriya freeze. He realized he had walked into a difficult situation, but...
Midoriya Izuku wasn't the type to leave a poor little girl crying. If he saw someone in need, he would help them.
With his left hand holding the plastic bag with the ice cream, Midoriya carefully picked up Eri with his right arm. She looked surprised, but he just smiled and said:
"A hero will help you. I'll take you to find a hero."
Since Eri wasn't wearing shoes, walking barefoot on the ground would be painful, so Midoriya carried her and headed toward Togata Mirio and the others.
"Ah! Midoriya-kun, where did you find this cute little sister~~!"
As soon as they arrived, Hado Nejire rushed over, grabbed Eri from Midoriya's hands, spun her around, and then hugged her, happily rubbing her face against the girl's.
"Didn't expect... Midoriya-kun to have this kind of hobby!"
"Midoriya, this is a crime!"
"Midoriya-chan, I'm calling 110~~!"
Takeyama Urei, Ochako, and Hatsume Mei took turns teasing him, and Midoriya could only feel a headache coming on. Couldn't they be a little more serious?
"Midoriya, what happened?"
Togata Mirio asked seriously, sensing that things weren't simple.
"This is what happened..."
Midoriya explained everything that had just occurred, and the others were silent, not sure what to say. It seemed like a real mess.
"Hado, stop playing around!"
Mirio stopped Hado Nejire's overenthusiastic behavior. Eri had been spun around so much that her eyes were filled with circles, and it seemed like she got dizzy from it.
After placing Eri on a bench to sit, Midoriya Izuku carefully handed her his ice cream and gently asked:
"Eri, how did you end up here? Do you have any other family members...?"
"My grandpa is still alive... but..."
At this point, Eri's eyes started to tear up, and she became too scared to speak, causing Midoriya and the others to comfort her and suggest skipping that question.
"So, how did you end up here?"
An amusement park requires a ticket, so how would a little girl with no shoes end up here by herself? Midoriya and the others didn't believe it was possible.
"I don't know... I went through a dark door, and then I ended up here..."
"A dark door?!"
Eri's answer made everyone exchange looks. It was likely the work of that person's "Quirk."
Kurogiri from the "League of Villains," whose Quirk is "Portals"... He had been causing trouble recently as one of the villains, and this seemed like another enemy action.
Midoriya Izuku felt something was wrong...
