It was a quiet night, except for the rustling of the wind against the towering manor house. I lay on the massive bed, staring at the ornate ceiling above me, with the swirl of confusion and fear inside my head. With each time I closed my eyes, it was again Avalor's words I could hear.
War. You're the missing piece.
I hid under the weight of the blanket, seeking comfort amidst the alien luxury that surrounded me. However, no matter how soft the bed was, no matter how great the room was, it still felt like a cage.
I remembered the way Avalor looked at me when he spoke about destiny and power within. What did he mean by, "You are more than just human"? And why was I the one holding this key to his future?
And so I sat up straight, an urgent feeling that there was more of this stuff than I could see. There were too many questions left unanswered, too many pieces of this puzzle not yet understood. But I was no longer going to wait around passively.
