Chapter 4 - Caught

Rayce forgot for a second that he was supposed to be the naive, innocent and kind type of guy.

If he said out his speculations out loud, she would suspect him to be not Rayce, or worse, believe that he was just putting up and act to get into her pants or something.

It wasn't like he fell for her at first sight or anything, it was just him trying to save his skin.

It was just the better decision.

Getting called possessed was nothing short of a death sentence than being labelled a a pervert and a rapist.

That's what he had learned from the memories of Rayce and chose to act upon.

"I-I just remember... we both talking when you took a drink... and then the room... the-"

"S-stop! N-no need to m-mention i-it!"

Zarael interrupted him once again as her face turned beet red from embarrassment.

Of course, if it could get any redder in the first place.

Pinning the blame on her doesn't feel good, but...

Being the only way to convince her that it wasn't his fault, he had to say it, even if it was the truth.

The problem was the lack of memories from taking that drink to arriving in the room as they were missing from his head.

And he guessed it was the same for her.

In the worst case, I will know which fuckrr plotted it.

It was a win-win situation despite it being a wild gamble.

Luckily, it worked as she too didn't have memories of that duration, confirming his words and understanding their situation.

After all, it didn't matter who put them into it, what mattered was what to do next?

"Uhm, Zael..." Rayce called her out, seeing that she turned completely silent.

"Hm?" She responded, coming out of her thoughts after barely composing herself.

"I-I will take r-responsibility!" Rayce declared, cringing inwardly.

Opposite him, Zael's mind was blown, her barely regained composure broke down as she stuttered, "A-ah w-what?!"

Her ears turned red at the thought of being with him all her life but she shook her head after a few seconds of delusions.

"N-no that's n-not right," she retorted and only she knew how much her heart hurt when saying those words.

"N-no! It's my d-duty! My mom t-taught me to take r-responsibility!" Rayce countered, making Zael helpless.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, she nodded her head slightly, choosong to follow her heart.

At the moment, nothing else mattered to her, it was fine even if the world ended.

"W-hat are y-you doing?"

However, she was shocked out of her witd when she felt him approach her.

Hearing her bewildered tone, he explained, "Taking responsibility."

Not giving the vulnerable girl any chance, he pulled her close and sealed the deal with a kiss.

Soft...

Her lips felt surprisingly soft despite it being just a few minutes since she woke up.

Unable to let go, he pulled her closer despite her initial reluctance.

At least he bed sheet between them seperated their bodies.

Or else, she'd be too embarassed to even stay awake snd would faint on the spot.

As the kiss slowly blended into a deep kiss, she slowly reciprocated despite it feeling not thst good.

Obviously, it was their first kiss, if one excluded the last night.

And first kisses never felt good, it was always about the person who was extremely special, in most cases.

That's why people began calling first kisses sweet when that wasn't the reality.

Rayce's delusions of heavenly first kisses also waned away by the vivid kiss, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.

Only when they were out of breath did they stop and looked intk each other's eyes, full of love, or eather lust.

However, it wasn't meant to be.

*Bam!*

The door exploded all of a sudden, surprising them as their lips touched right in that second.

Thankfully both were a bit far from the door and wearing the thick bedsheet or who knew what would've happened to them.

"President, I am sure I saw Ms. Zarael with him at the party last night!" A boy with a pointed nose said to a handsome man with a buff build and slight purple hair.

His amethyst eyes were similar yet distinct from Zarael as he uttered coldly, "You know what will happen if your accusation is false."

The man gulped nervously but felt confident after recalling the plan.

Alas, he ended up colliding into the purple-haired man who stopped all of a sudden.

"What-"

Bis words stuck in his throat as he froze at the sight of Zarael and Rayce covering themselves with the sheet and huddling together.

"B-brother? W-what are you...?" Zarael asked, in a tone of disbelief.

But in that moment, she felt a sense of calmness wash over her due to the firm hand holding her slender hand under the sheets.

Unlike what most people believed, her brother knew Zael's feelings for Rayce and seeing them in bed together confused him.

He was questioning his beliefs and wondering when did his sister get together with him.

Contrary to him, the boy next to him failed to understand the scene, "Hah! Didn't I say, sbe she was with him? See, I was right!'

*Boom!*

All he got was a punch to his face, shutting him app and causing him to fall unconscious before being dragged away by Zael's brother.

"Zarael and Rayce, get dressed and meet me in the student council room."

Those were his parting words as he conjured a door from somewhere and fixed it while walking away.

Not once did he look back or even have the slightest hint of animosity or desire in his eyes.

Rather, he just showed curiosity and interest in the current situation.

"Haa..." Rayce let out his held breath, not realising his palms were sweaty by now.

He really feared what would happen, knowing the student council president only from the rumours.

"You were right, your brother is really different from the rumours," he mumbled in a low tone before turning to the pale-faced Zael.

What's up with her? Are we still not safe?
