Chapter 42 - Ch.42 There Are No Death Row Inmates on Titan

"Hey, reindeer head, the lead actor of The Shock just got taken away. What are you going to do about it?"

Infinity War Tony couldn't help but shout sarcastically at Loki.

Among the crowd, Loki looked around and noticed that everyone's gaze had landed on his crown. Only then did he realize what was happening.

"Reindeer? Me?"

He touched the antlers of his crown, his expression turning dark.

"Stupid mortals! You're courting death!"

He cursed loudly, raising his scepter as he charged toward Infinite Tony.

"Die!"

Bang!

Old Steve instinctively stepped in front of Tony, throwing his shield, but it passed right through Loki's figure, hitting another Steve.

"Ah, damn it!"

The other Steve quickly raised his shield, narrowly avoiding being struck.

Bang~

The shield boomeranged back into Old Steve's hand, and he awkwardly walked over to his parallel version, offering a series of apologies.

Meanwhile, Charlie saw Loki's figure vanish in a green glow and couldn't help but laugh.

"So, he snuck away long ago."

Infinite Tony nodded. "Seems sneakier than the Loki I remember."

Peggy Carter looked regretful. "This guy, Loki, has the ability to create duplicates. He could've been really helpful for completing our mission, but too bad he won't cooperate."

"He's just a coward," Lizard Parker tried to smile softly. "Can I team up with you?" He looked at Carter.

She was one of the few who didn't look at him with disdain.

"Of course."

Carter extended her hand, smiling. "I'm Peggy Carter, nice to meet you, Peter Parker."

"I-I am too." Lizard Parker extended his claw, but quickly retracted it, feeling embarrassed about his appearance.

This made him lower his head in shame.

Seeing this, Carter offered a few comforting words.

"You were human before, right?"

"Yes, I wasn't always a monster. You seem to know those guys holding shields. They're called Steve, right? I'm not wrong?"

Following Lizard Parker's gesture, Carter glanced at the various Steves, shaking her head slightly as a trace of sadness flickered in her eyes.

"I wish I didn't know him."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to bring it up."

"It's fine."

Carter then turned to Charlie.

"So, Spider-kid, want to join us?" she asked with a smile.

Charlie thought for a moment, then nodded.

"Sure."

This resurrection match was different, and even with multiple retries, it would be difficult to complete the mission alone.

"I'll join you too," Infinite Tony said, stepping forward.

He looked at Carter's face and introduced himself.

"I'm Tony Stark. I've heard of you, Agent Carter."

"Stark?"

Carter raised an eyebrow. "What's your relationship with Howard?"

"He's my father."

"Then I guess I'm technically your elder."

"That's… not wrong," Infinity War Tony awkwardly scratched his temple.

So, the old popsicle liked strong women, huh?

Looking around, he noticed that some of the other participants had disappeared. Tony shrugged.

"Looks like they've already found their target, and it's not us."

"Same here,"

Old Steve approached Tony, a bit disappointed.

"Too bad they don't plan to join us," he said, referring to the other Steves.

"They're Captains too, they should be easy to talk to," Tony mused.

Old Steve shook his head.

"I've got a bad feeling about them. It's like… I don't know, I just can't put it into words." He gave up trying to explain.

"They're waiting for Agent Carter to invite them," Charlie pointed out.

Carter immediately rejected the idea.

"I feel the same way. Something's off about them. Let's just leave it."

Charlie had no objections.

"The mission says we need to take part in an exile journey. We should figure out what that means first."

"I can handle that," Infinity War Tony said, tapping his helmet as he connected to the Titan network.

"Sir, the exile journey is the most severe punishment on Titan. Since there is no death penalty here, exile is the harshest sentence."

Hearing this, Charlie understood.

"Thanos is infamous for his brutality, so he must've committed a horrifying crime to be exiled. If we want to participate in the exile journey, we'll need to become notorious criminals."

Old Steve nodded.

"Yeah, it'll be hard for us to become ruthless criminals."

He glanced at Lizard Parker.

"You seem like you could get exiled without even committing a crime."

Lizard Parker grinned.

"I'm actually a good person."

"Doesn't look like it."

"Stop judging by appearances, or I'll tear you apart."

"See? He's getting mad."

"Damn it!"

Lizard Parker was getting frustrated.

Meanwhile, Infinite Tony glanced at Charlie with a curious look.

"Everyone knows? Does that mean your world has Thanos too?"

Charlie nodded.

"Of course, Thanos wiped out his own father. It's an act of fatherly love, truly heartwarming."

"I don't get your sense of humor."

Infinite Tony glanced at the ID bracelet on his wrist, then made a suggestion.

"I haven't had BBQ in a while. How about we try some Titan specialties? We'll need to eat before the fight; otherwise, we won't have the energy."

"Do we even have money?" Old Steve asked.

Charlie spread his hands.

"Anyone who's been friends with Spider-Man knows Spider-Man is broke. Plus, I don't have any pockets."

"The Peter I know is poor too,"

Tony added, raising his hand as his nanometal morphed into an electromagnetic pulse gun.

"I'm thinking of selling this thing. It should get us some cash."

Charlie's eyes lit up, giving a thumbs-up.

"Good idea!"

Old Steve proudly raised his shield.

"But I think my shield's worth more."

"Oh, old man, you're smart. Vibranium is rare in the universe. It could make us filthy rich on Titan."

"I thought so too."

"And I've got strength. I could do some labor and earn more," Lizard Parker chimed in, accidentally joining the group's money-making scheme.

Charlie waved him off.

"No, I think you should go perform at the zoo. You'd make good money there."

"No way! You should be out cleaning windows on some skyscraper, you bum!"

Behind them, Carter watched as the group casually wandered toward a restaurant, her face full of exasperation.

If she had known these guys were so unreliable, she never would've teamed up with them.

But now…

She glanced around at the other contestants, long gone.

It was too late to turn back. She'd have to see it through.

Soon, the group arrived at a forest-themed restaurant filled with the atmosphere of nature.

Their human appearance didn't draw much attention from passersby.

After all, on Titan, there were not only the native Titan species but also many aliens from across the universe.

Humans were considered the aliens here, and their harmless appearance was actually quite welcomed by the Titan species.

But soon, the city's news broadcast changed everything. As footage of humans appeared on the screen, the once-innocent-looking group quickly became seen as demons by the Titans.

"Breaking news: A group of despicable alien creatures has been spotted near the Star Castle. They have brutally killed local residents. The Titan guards are on their way to the scene."

Upon hearing this news, Charlie and the others' expressions changed.

"They acted quickly. Was it Loki who killed them?"

"No, it was the Avengers!"
