Chapter 4 - Echoes of the One-Eyed Beast

Adinim sebag

He was playing with Lilly in the game room, as he had promised the previous day. It was hard to say no to Lilly; her innocent-looking eyes and Adinim remembered what it was like to have a sister. How fun it used to be playing with them. Playing with Lily for Adinim helped him partake in a part of his life he had always missed. Lilly brought back those memories of those traders who sold him out, but before, they were traders when they were a family.

Huia interjects, playfully asking Lilly if she is sure she doesn't want to dress Adinim like her princess doll. Lilly replies to Huia's denim and says no, princess. She rolls her head to the side with her lips sulking, still hoping she would still get her way. Adinim's brows furrowed at Huia; he was perceptibly angry at Huia's remarks. What the hell is wrong with you? He grabbed one of the toys and threw it at Huia in retribution for his mockery of a suggestion. Oh, Huia said when the toys hit him in the head. Lilly laughs at the ordeal between the two, laughing much noisily while rolling on the floor. Her laughter travels across, getting the attention of a certain someone.

Maadhela Akhaqia

Hearing all the commotion, he went to his sister's small game room. Making his way through the hallways, Akhaqia was in the doorway. Upon seeing him, his sister ran towards him. Lilly screamed at the top of her lungs, excited to see him as if he wanted in the room next door the whole time. Akhaqia retorted the same energy toward his little sister, Lilly, he said with his arm out. Then she ran into his arm full force, and relieving herself of any control, she was swept up and held above Akhaqia's head by him, where her head nearly touched the ceiling. After a while of spinning her around right, he said he was panting and having difficulty catching his breath. We'll pick this back up tomorrow. Denim, Huia, and I, Akhaqia, said Akhaqia to Lily, trying not to her guardedness to his sister to what he could be up to. He doesn't want to worry her. We need to do something. Lilly surprisingly understood their dilemma. She said it in a pleasing, cheerful tone; it was probably because Denim kept his promise.

While Lilly's words sounded sweet and very innocent, the three were well acquainted with what was coming up. Akhaqia saying he would pick this up tomorrow served as a cue. After all, they had discussed it beforehand and even pledged, some more happy with the plan while others didn't like it; one was glad to cause some chaos, saying, Tomorrow, well, today was that day; it's more like today now. After hearing her words, the atmosphere shifted, and all three—Huia, Adinim, and Akhaqia—left. Their impressionable smiles while playing with Lilly switched as soon as they turned their backs to her to more severe expressions that matched their current circumstances and the challenges they were getting ready to undertake. After all, playing time was over, and with that, they made their way out of the room to handle serious matters.

Before leaving, Akhaqia turned to Lilly and said, "Remember, today, you stay in your room and don't come out at all, okay?"

Lilly looked a bit nervous at Akhaqia's strange request. The huge smile on her face faded, replaced by concern. She asked, "Okay, you guys will be here, right?" Her head hung low as she awaited the answer.

Akhaqia responded, "Yeah," then added, "Remember how we used to play hide and seek? Tonight, I need you to hide in here because there's going to be a giant monster with one eye. Every step it takes sends a thud that can be heard, sending noise through the town, searching for any and every disobedient soul to claim. It's a walking terror. Its face is deformed, and you can hear it coming from a mile away, heavy breathing with its mouth gaped open. Its footsteps echo for miles, and it's inescapable once it marks you as disobedient. Nothing can stop it from collecting you and taking you up the mountain where it keeps the rest of its victims. Some say it eats its victims; some say at night they hear the beast gnawing at its victims as the bone-crushing sound echoes through the night, while others have different theories saying that it steals its victims's faces, leaving the victim out of a face. Hearing this, Lilly was having a roller-coaster of emotions. Her sweet little face expresses fear after hearing all the things the beast can do. Today, an amazing wandering soul told me it's coming to town. As a great brother who loves his dear sister, I am telling you this: You need to behave... or else."

"Rahhhh!" Akhaqia suddenly jumped at Lilly and made a scary face, which made her scream in surprise.

Scared and curious, Lilly asked, with a saddened look, "Eats children, you say?"

She said it questioningly, looking with her eyes squinted toward Akhaqia.

Akhaqia continued, "But open hearing that Lily paid closer attention, listening to Akhaqia's every word, upon seeing that Akhaqia said slowly as if he was giving a secret to Lilly, he didn't want anyone else to hear. If you hide, it won't eat you. Akhaqia continued with a shallow voice, informing Lily while Lilly continued paying close attention to Akhaqia's words. You need to stay in here and hide so it doesn't get you."

"Okay," Lilly said as she waved them off. She closed her room with Akhaqia's last whispering words of warning playing back in her head. She closed the door tightly so the monster wouldn't find her.

As Lilly closed the door to her room to hide from whatever monstrosity from the Akhaqia story, the front opened for the group to face a different kind of monster.

Adinim sebag

Adinim was listening to the conversation between Akhaqia and his sister; he knew precisely when they were done when it got to that point in the conversation. When the conversation was over, he opened the door. He couldn't wait. He was eager for what came next. Huia made his way out of the house; he was taking his time coming, and last but not least, it was akhaqia, and now the group was ready to act on the plan. They were walking to where the Alfeheim supply transportation would have to go through in the hope of successfully pulling off a heist.
