Nyx stood at the head of the grand table, his eyes scanning the room as he waited for everyone to settle. The room was dimly lit, with only a few candles flickering, casting long shadows on the walls. The air was thick with anticipation, and the silence was almost palpable.
Angel, Solar, and Aria entered the room together, their footsteps echoing softly on the marble floor. Aria's hand slipped into Angel's, and he felt a warmth spread through him. He glanced at her, his cheeks flushing as memories of their recent date flooded his mind. Aria met his gaze, her own cheeks tinged with pink, and they both smiled, lost in the moment.
Nyx cleared his throat, bringing them back to the present. "Thank you all for coming," he began, his voice steady and commanding. "We have much to discuss."
Angel and Aria reluctantly let go of each other's hands and took their seats, their eyes still lingering on one another. Solar, ever the stoic, sat down with a nod, his expression unreadable.
Nyx took a deep breath and continued. "I have called you here to discuss a new facility that Reina is working on. It is currently under construction, but once completed, it will be a significant threat to us and to everyone we care about."
He paused, letting the gravity of his words sink in. "Reina herself will be overseeing the construction, and we have a limited window of opportunity to stop her before the facility is operational."
Angel leaned forward; his brow furrowed. "What kind of facility is it?"
Nyx's eyes darkened. "It is a place designed to harness and amplify the powers of individuals like us. In my timeline, before I became a time traveler, people with powers were common. Reina is attempting to recreate that, but with a sinister twist. She wants to control and weaponize these powers for her own gain."
Solar's eyes narrowed. "And you believe we have these powers?"
Nyx nodded. "I have sensed a spark of power in each of you. It is dormant now, but with the right guidance, I believe we can unlock it. And we must, if we are to stand a chance against Reina."
Aria's eyes widened. "How do we unlock these powers?"
Nyx smiled, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "I will help you. We will train together, and I will teach you everything I know. But we must act quickly. The facility will be completed in two years, and we need to be ready to confront Reina before then."
Angel's heart pounded in his chest. The thought of having powers, of being able to protect those he loved, filled him with a sense of purpose. He glanced at Aria, who gave him a reassuring smile.
Nyx's expression grew serious. "Angel, you will be in charge when you get your powers. We will make sure Reina never harms anyone else when this is all said and done."
Angel nodded, determination in his eyes. "I won't let you down."
