Taking another puff from the roll of weed, Kaida spread her legs apart, and groaned, "Those old bastards, who the hell is interested in getting tied down? What mate?" She hissed, "Such a joke."
Spence, a blonde with piercings on half his face, and a burn scar on his neck piped up, "If you could help it, you'd fuck everyone on the planet, wouldn't you?" He teased, earning jeers and cheers from the rest of the either drunken or high people in the diner.
Kaida laughed, "Not everyone, I'd leave the old farts for you guys."
Spence frowned, and inched closer, "Kaida, did you bring it?" He whispered loudly.
She took another puff of the roll, before answering plainly, "You'll have to wait, there's only so much I can swipe from the council. Getting this much out of the raid, is already more than I can handle in one swoop."
"But-" he gritted his teeth and dug his nails into the back of his head, scratching, "This isn't enough!"
She sighed and crushed the butt of her roll against the wall, "I know, but come on, if I could help it I would. This shit is expensive," she traced her gaze to the white pound of powder like material in a clear bag resting on the table. "The council regulates the amount distributed, maybe if I try talking to father again-"
Spence balled his fists, "Kaida! Without it, we can't sleep, we can't eat, we can't even shift sometimes it gets painful. We don't just take this because we want to, we have to. And your damned father knows why!" He hardened his voice, turning the cheerful mood sour.
Hearing about her father weakened her argument.
Spence went on. "I get the man wants to remain in power, I really do. So it made some sense that he had us, 'cleansed' before we were allowed into the alliance." He air quoted the word cleansed while he spoke.
His hazel eyes turned livid as he went on. "But let's be fucking serious, what the hell did he inject us with that caused us to turn out this way!" He raised his tone, raising the anger of the rest of them.
"And the worse part? He took full credit for everything and won't acknowledge what he did to us!" Spence announce filled with rage.
Kaida could sense they would get rowdy and immediately starting cracking her fingers under her chair, ready to restrain them, even if it meant doing it by force.
"Spence, calm down for a sec-" but before she could say another word, the door to the room was kicked open, and in came a taller, blonde haired boy, with a striking resemblance to Spence. However he looked livelier and was dressed more responsibly.
Kain took in his surroundings, and frowned at the white substance on the table. He turned to Kaida, his eyes laced with disappointment.
"Spence! Come on, we're leaving!" He announced, yelling at his little brother.
Spence hissed and reached for the white substance, but Kain grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him to his side. "You're not taking any more of that." He declared.
Spence hissed, "You are not the boss of me! Some of us, aren't willing to lick ass for a bone."
His older brother ignored him and picked up the white substance. The others tried to stop him, but just one glare from Kain shut the rest of them up. They knew just how strong Kain was, and did not plan on messing with him.
"Give that back you piece of shit!" Spence lunged towards his brother, but Kain landed a square punch on his face, knocking him out completely.
Once he was unconscious, he tossed the powder to Kaida, "Take that and return it back to the council. I'll keep this a secret from your father, if you do the right thing."
Kaida laughed, "The right thing?" She muttered to herself in a low tone, "What even is that?" She asked, not expecting an answer.
Kain turned around, lifted his brother off the ground and carried him on his shoulder away from the scene.
"How's mercenary work faring for you, Kain?" Kaida asked as he walked out.
He halted his steps, parted his lips as if to speak, but ultimately said nothing and walked away. Hearing him leave, signalled Kaida it was time for her to get lost too.
"Ty!" She called out to one of them.
Ty raised his head from the powder he was inhaling directly, only to see the main source flying at him.
Kaida reached into her bra for her bike keys. "Share that with the rest of you, no hording and no charging anyone. It's on me." She announced, before taking her leave out of the dinner.
As she approached her motorcycle, she noticed Kain helping his passed out brother into his black truck, and couldn't help but smile at the scene.
"Must be nice," she huffed, strutting towards her motorcycle, "To have family who cares about you." She thought aloud, picking up her grey helmet.
Kaida didn't arrive at the pack estate until midnight. To avoid alerting the watchers of her arrival she parked her bike in the woods and climbed the fence, slipping into the packhouse.
She was used to sneaking in and out of the packhouse ever since she was twelve, and had only ever been caught once.
As she stealthily made her way towards her room, at the end of the hallway, she was intercepted by a flying punch!
"Woah!" She dodged the punch, pretending to have been caught off guard, despite already having sensed the other person's presence for a while.
Emerald held her form, with her fists held out in front of her, and a nasty glare on her face.
Kaida looked over her shoulder and grinned at the brunette in a tank top and sweat pants, looking to pummel her.
Kaida folded her arms and let out an exasperated sigh, "Emy, I thought I made myself clear on this, the only form of violence I'll condone between us is on my bed." She announced her tone breaking from a serious scolding into a flirtatious remark.
Emerald gritted her teeth, "You fucking bitch!" She cursed, despite her reddened ears and flushed cheeks.
