It didn't look like his father was close to the stranger so Benjamin calmed down a bit, no longer worried that this was all a big test from his father.
'He should have spoken to me first,' Benjamin thought. Then he could have shared that his father didn't like newcomers. No one would be let into his space easily without showing how much they had or doing something else to impress Vance.
