Liam stood behind Veronica, letting her walk ahead to test how far was good enough for her. He decided to be positive that this was fine. She didn't like going on boats in the open water so walking like this should be fine.
"It's cold," Veronica muttered, regretting not testing the water instead of just walking right in. "But it's not bad. I am going further."
Veronica looked back to see that Liam was still behind her. His pants were soaked which he didn't seem to mind. He was focused on her while she was focused on the water.
Veronica went further to where the water reached her knees. It was straying from being fun to a bit scary with how the small waves pushed against her body and she swayed when caught off guard by the waves coming in.
Panic was setting in as she thought of her dreams of drowning. There was something on the tip of her tongue for why she didn't want to be in water but she couldn't remember it.
