Evelyn found the pills Beth was meant to take to help her with sleeping and pounded one with the bottom of a cup. Beth had to return to how Evelyn liked her as the sweet young woman who made her feel like a good mother and kept Henry's anger off her.
Beth was doing too much talking right now and trying to be controlling.
Evelyn slid the powder into her hands and poured it into a clean cup then added water. She hated that it had to come to this but Beth needed some rest.
Evelyn waited for the water to settle and appear like nothing was added to it to then seek out the maid who would have to go to put away Beth's bags.
"Give this to Beth. She's tired so make sure you clean the room quietly," Evelyn said as she handed the cup to the maid.
