"Beth, you should be careful about what you say. I am not taking any money from your uncle. If you are talking about the money I set aside if we don't use it when we shop then you're mistaking that money. I use it for something else but if I did pocket it, I can," said Evelyn.
"I don't see why you're getting so defensive. You're free to pocket little money you don't spend but a woman like you who doesn't want to go back to working won't be keeping little money. Then again, that little money adds up over the years,' Beth concluded.
Given how many years Evelyn was married to her uncle, saving a few thousand a week would mean good savings right now.
