Veronica tried to focus on the television but her mind was elsewhere. Liam had already informed her that she wouldn't be able to meet her father but she was still curious about him and now wanted to know more about where her mother was.
What was the plan for Evelyn? Was Evelyn ever going to be seen again?
Veronica didn't feel bad for her mother. Evelyn had to learn her lesson at some point and the right person had returned to do it.
"Year after year of hearing how poor my father was," said Veronica.
Evelyn had not only played Veronica but she had played Henry by making him think the support sent for Veronica was little. Thanks to Evelyn leaving out how much money was sent, Veronica had to listen to Henry grumbling about spending money on a child that wasn't his.
