Cardinal City was a human settlement dedicated to trade. Located at the eastern end of the central continent within the kingdom of Longer, it boasted five large walls as its line of defense, which also served to separate its districts. From the outermost to the innermost, these districts were: tourist, commercial, industrial, educational, and governmental.
Before its founding, this city was nothing more than an oasis in the middle of the desert—a place merchants used as a rest point and navigation marker on their journey to the port of the kingdom of Longer, to the east. Over time, these same merchants turned the oasis into a hub of exchange and finally founded a small settlement.
