"Sea of String!"
Doflamingo pressed his hand against the ground, and the very earth transformed into countless strings, spreading towards Ian like a vast net, intending to ensnare and tear him apart.
Ian remained calm. With a single step, he launched himself into the air, looking down upon Doflamingo.
"Well then, Black-Winged Devil, reveal your true form! Or face certain death!" Doflamingo scowled, his frustration evident. Even at this juncture, Ian still regarded him with an air of superiority. It was infuriating.
"Crocodile, another usurper like yourself, uttered those same words. My answer remains the same: I needn't unleash my full power to kill you."
Crackle! As Ian's words faded, a torrent of lightning erupted, engulfing his entire body. He began to swell in size, bathed in a blinding white and blue aura, a veritable god of thunder descending from the heavens, three large tomoe drums strapped to his back.
The thunder god had returned, wielding two hundred million volts!
Or perhaps, far more. He was no longer the same Ian who had battled Crocodile in Alabasta.
His fusion rate had increased. the further he progressed, the more souls he required, and the greater the increase in power. He couldn't quantify the exact voltage, but estimated it to be around five or six hundred million.
His power had surged again after arriving in the Sabaody Archipelago. His initial plan had been to collaborate with Fujitora to take down Doflamingo, but now, it was unnecessary.
He alone was sufficient. He had left Rayleigh and Shakky at her bar, enjoying their reunion and reminiscing over drinks. With a 50% fusion rate, his power had reached the level of Quasi-Admiral. surpassing the Three Calamities and approaching Admiral level, comparable to Momousagi and Chaton.
He was equivalent to a powerful Soul Reaper captain or one of the lower-ranked Espada. Dealing with Doflamingo wouldn't even require his Resurrección, Murciélago.
His Devil Fruit abilities were more than enough.
On one side, dark clouds churned, lightning flashing and thunder roaring. On the other, white strings surged like monstrous serpents, transforming the battlefield into a scene reminiscent of his clash with Crocodile.
"Judgment of God!" Crackling bolts of white and blue lightning, thick as pillars, descended from the heavens, striking down towards Doflamingo.
The attack was wide-ranging and unavoidable. Trembling before the descending lightning, Doflamingo cried out, "String Shield!"
Facing the apocalyptic onslaught, Doflamingo showed no sign of retreat. He pressed his hand against the string-transformed earth, and millions of white threads rose to form a protective barrier around him.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The raging lightning crashed against the string shield, scattering in all directions. White arcs of electricity crackled across the coastline for dozens of meters.
Each bolt that struck caused the white threads to explode, the shield imbued with explosive properties.
The strings sizzled and burned under the intense electrical assault.
"Fufufufufu! It seems your attack is ineffective. Are you sure you don't want to use your full power?"
Doflamingo emerged from the string shield, his gaze fixed on the towering figure of Ian, a mocking smirk plastered across his face.
"Even if you utilize your abilities effectively, against this level of power... it's meaningless!" Doflamingo gestured with his hands, and millions of strings rose, twisting and intertwining to form massive, python-like whips that lashed out at Ian.
"Devil Fruit Awakening, impressive... Aside from not being able to transform your own body into strings, you're practically indistinguishable from a Logia user." Ian observed, his voice echoing across the battlefield.
"Fufufufufu... Now that you understand the disparity in our power, let me send you to your grave. While you've managed to wield your Mythical Zoan's elemental abilities with surprising proficiency, you refuse to unleash your full power. In the end, you'll be defeated by your own conceit!"
Doflamingo's laughter echoed ominously as he advanced towards Ian, surrounded by a swirling vortex of white strings, like a king surveying his domain.
Ian didn't retreat, seemingly resigned to his fate. But his eyes remained calm, and a faint smile, a hint of knowing confidence, played across his lips. This subtle shift in demeanor sent a shiver down Doflamingo's spine, a sense of unease creeping into his heart.
A Devil smiling? Something monumental was about to happen.
"I didn't want to use this technique, as it consumes a great deal of stamina... no, spiritual pressure. But since you've unveiled your Devil Fruit Awakening, it would be rude not to reciprocate."
"After all, only fools hide their true strength on the Grand Line. Besides, I doubt anyone will dare interrupt us after witnessing this battle."
Ian's expression became serene, as if the very wind had stilled around him. A strange power began to surge.
He raised his right hand, lightning crackling and converging within his palm.
"Lightning Return!"
A voice, devoid of emotion, resonated from the depths of his soul, causing Doflamingo to freeze, a tremor running through his body, a premonition of impending doom.
Within Ian's raised hand, the lightning intensified, forming a massive sphere of white and blue energy, dozens of meters in diameter. The dark clouds above transformed into a sea of lightning, radiating raw, untamed power. He resembled Luffy wielding King Kong Gun.
As he brought his hand down, the torrential lightning followed, like a Sacred strike, threatening to crush everything in its path.
"This is impossible!!"
Disbelief etched itself across Doflamingo's face. His Observation Haki screamed warnings of impending doom, an endless torrent of power that threatened to obliterate him. Could it be… that the Black-Winged Devil's had also awakened?
It wasn't impossible. How else could a Mythical Zoan user wield elemental powers with such mastery, rivaling a Logia user? Doflamingo struggled to comprehend the situation.
He refused to believe it. With a grit of his teeth, he raised his hand and gestured towards Ian.
Over a dozen string pillars erupted from the ground, lashing out at Ian. Buzz!
Behind Ian, the vast sea of lightning surged forward, meeting the string pillars head-on.
The colliding forces intertwined, creating a breathtaking spectacle, a scene of unimaginable beauty and destructive power. The onlookers, having retreated to the edge of the island, watched in awe and terror.
Even at a safe distance, they felt the oppressive weight of the clashing forces, as if the very heavens were about to collapse.
They watched as the torrent of lightning clashed with the serpentine strings, their minds buzzing, their thoughts blanked, rendered speechless by the sheer scale of the confrontation.
Were all battles between New World powerhouses this terrifying? If they knew that a clash of swords between Whitebeard and Shanks could tear the sky asunder, their jaws would likely drop to the floor.
This was their introduction to the New World, a brutal display of power meant to shatter their confidence. Yet, some among them, fueled by ambition and a thirst for power, felt a surge of excitement, believing themselves capable of reaching such heights.
Such conceit in the New World, however, was a death sentence. Ace was a prime example.
Having consumed the Flame-Flame Fruit, coupled with his lineage, he had believed himself Strong. He had challenged Whitebeard shortly after entering the New World.
Ace, however, had a different perspective. He recognized that the lightning was merely a byproduct of Ian's true power. By demonstrating these techniques, the Sacred form, the Judgment of God, and Lightning Return.
He watched with rapt attention.
The battle raged on.
Even Ian was no longer unscathed. The constant barrage of strings had chipped away at his lightning armor, his body shrinking, and wounds appearing across his form. While his High-Speed Regeneration rapidly healed the injuries, his expression remained unchanged, a mask of unwavering determination and a hint of madness, as if he sought to annihilate everything in his path.
Doflamingo was in even worse shape. His clothes were torn to shreds, his body covered in wounds. He constantly used his strings to stitch himself back together, leaving no visible scars, as if his body was regenerating.
Before awakening his Devil Fruit, his strings could withstand Ian's sword attacks. But now, against Ian's awakened power, they offered little resistance.
If not for his superior Busoshoku Haki, he would have already been defeated.
Ian hovered in the air, amidst the churning sea of lightning. His thunder god form had dissipated, returning to his normal appearance. He felt the drain on his spiritual pressure, his eyes flickering momentarily. This was enough to deal with Doflamingo.
"This form…"
Doflamingo, his body battered and bleeding, glared at Ian with a mixture of fear and hatred. Since losing his status as a Celestial Dragon and forming the Donquixote Family with Diamante and the others, he had never been so thoroughly outmatched, except when facing a Yonko or an Admiral.
Doflamingo's gaze hardened with murderous intent. This man had to be eliminated.
The lightning hadn't vanished; it had been compressed and contained within Ian's body, swirling around him like a tempest. It was as if the power meant to strike a hundred men had been focused into a single, devastating blow.
It was akin to the Zoan transformations: animal form, hybrid form, and human form.
Crackle!
The lightning intensified, swirling around Ian, forming a crackling aura that resembled flames, engulfing him in a blazing cloak of pure energy.
His black-sleeved Vice Admiral coat billowed in the wind, his hair standing on end like needles.
He knew Doflamingo had more tricks up his sleeve. Another Lightning Return, amplified further, might break through his defenses, but it wouldn't be enough to finish him.
This new form granted him enhanced speed, power, and defense. Even if Doflamingo attempted to flee, he would be caught instantly. It was only slightly weaker than his Resurrección.
Aokiji, Kizaru, and Akainu, all capable of wielding immense power, had never resorted to such transformations. They could likely achieve a similar state, but their attacks were already capable of reshaping the very landscape. They didn't need such enhancements.
They preferred raw, unadulterated power.
With a roar, Ian brought his right arm across his chest, gathering the surging lightning into a single point. A terrifying aura, capable of tearing the heavens asunder, began to emanate from his fingertips.
He extended four fingers, focusing the lightning into a sharp, piercing point, its penetrative power amplified further by the cutting force of the Supa Supa no Mi. It was as if he could pierce through anything.
This was the ultimate spear, the four-fingered spear of piercing death. Whoosh!
Sonido and an explosive burst of speed propelled him forward. In an instant, Ian transformed into a blur of lightning, hurtling towards Doflamingo with blinding speed.
"16 Holy Bullets: God Thread!"
Doflamingo reacted instantly, raising his hands and channeling his awakened power. Countless strings converged, forming sixteen massive, string-formed projectiles.
The tips of the strings glowed with a black, hardened aura of Busoshoku Haki, aimed directly at the oncoming Ian. A clash of piercing forces was inevitable.
Even Doflamingo's keen eyesight struggled to keep up with Ian's speed. However, his Observation Haki, honed through years of battle, allowed him to track Ian's movements with ease, even if he were twice as fast.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion rocked the island. Ian's Hell Stab pierced through several of the God Thread projectiles, the concentrated lightning scattering the strings and sending them flying in all directions. The air crackled with electricity.
The ground beneath them buckled and cracked, spreading outwards like a spiderweb.
Crack! Ian's Hell Stab, with its concentrated lightning, emitted a sound like shattering steel as it tore through the remaining God Thread projectiles, scattering the white strings like falling cherry blossoms.
An earth-shattering roar erupted from the point of impact, sending shockwaves rippling across the island, kicking up a cloud of dust and debris.
Crash!
The shockwaves reached the ocean, sending waves crashing against the shore. The chaos continued for what felt like an eternity before finally subsiding.
As the dust settled, the onlookers, their nerves frayed, cautiously approached the epicenter of the battle, now reduced to a flattened wasteland. Was the battle over?
They exchanged nervous glances, and seeing no further movement, they slowly advanced, their curiosity outweighing their fear.
Gripping their weapons tightly, they navigated the debris-strewn battlefield. The clash between these titans had reshaped the landscape, two mangrove trees cleaved in two, all buildings reduced to rubble.
Not a single structure remained intact, their surfaces scorched and scarred by the intense heat and the razor-sharp strings. The first few to reach the center of the devastation stopped dead in their tracks.
Clatter! One of them, his grip loosened by shock, dropped his flintlock pistol, the sound echoing across the scarred earth.
In the midst of the destruction, one figure stood tall, while another lay defeated…
