The thunderous crack in Naxon's colossal punch shattered the barrier into fragments of light that shimmered through the air. Luca sprang into action, erecting another barrier around the bunker from where he stood amidst the wreckage of the broken shield. Much stronger than the previous one, though smaller, it held its ground against insistent battering.
Before he could even catch his breath, the Naxon was right in front of him, its huge hand clenching around Luca's throat, lifting him off the ground easily. Its voice rumbled, threateningly sneering, "Weak human."
Meanwhile, his mind was racing. Hanging from Naxon's grasp, he saw his chance. He channeled the ambient noise present with his sound manipulation into a slender, sharp spear. In one fast, desperate motion, he plunged it deep into the eye of Naxon. And the Naxon roared in its pain, causing the earth to shudder beneath them.
Seizing the moment, Luca created a huge sword using all the sound waves around him. He then let out a strong swing and pierced the Colossal Naxon. Brief was the victory. The sword shattered into a thousand pieces as the Naxon's regeneration was more than expected, the body healed up and reformed in an alarming rate.
Then, the gigantic Naxon reached out an arm, and hundreds of smaller ones swarmed to Luca. Luca did not squander one second. Throwing himself into action, his movements were now a blur of calculated strikes and defensive maneuvers.
He first created a stream of swords and spears that materialized out of the air by using his finger-snapping trick. He used material arts blocking and caunter attacking naxons weak spots crushing they're skulls with his sound manupilation. He snapped his fingers and materialized weapons. He used these weapons to slice through the advancing Naxons. Every swipe was precise, and his sound-powered blades cut clean through the Naxon ranks. He created barriers to fend off the attacks, crunching through the adversaries in a sweet blend of brute force and positioning.
As the fight wore on, Luca started to tire. He couldn't keep up with the increasing number of Naxons. His strikes became sluggish, his movement slow.
"Enough!" Luca bellowed, the word tumbling out in desperation and defiance. Then a surge of power exploded through him, fashioning a colossal, unseen barrier that expanded in all directions, smashing anything Naxon in its path. The shock of the strike took the breath from Luca's body; it shook and quivered with exhaustion.
Standing amidst the ruins, only one opponent was left-the Colossal Naxon. Now, it narrowed down its attention to Luca alone, stretching out an arm for him and making a spear out of its body.
The two faced each other; Luca was with his sword, the Naxon holding that dangerous spear. Suddenly, the Naxon jabbed its spear at Luca. In a flash, Luca was able to deflect the attack with his sword as the clashing of the two weapons rung through the ruins.
Dripping with sweat, Luca managed to land a few blows, slicing his sword through the Naxon's defenses. But it would not stop. For every time he hit the creature, there was an answering shake of the ground beneath him in brutal, blunt force by the Naxon. The fight then became a vicious circle of relentless attacks and defenses.
It was the Colossal Naxon's spear that found its mark, tearing through the defenses of Luca and creating a large wound in his chest. Throwing Luca to the ground opened a fissure in the earth on impact. The Naxon was roaring in triumph, preparing for the finishing move.
As the Naxon leaped into the air, ready to deliver the final blow, Luca lay on the ground, feeling the life slipping away. His vision blurred and a deep despair welded over him. Then, from far, far away, he heard the comforting voice of his mother from his childhood, soft and reassuring.
"Remember, you are not just human. You are my child, a Symbiote."
And then, in an instant, dark light enveloped Luca. His body suddenly began regenerating at a very rapid pace. A black cloak and dark shoulder armor appeared on him, his sword turning into a dark purple hue. His hands morphed to claws as his eyes shone with deep dark purple.
With the sudden surge of strength, Luca straightened up tall as an overwhelming aura began radiating from his body. Colossal Naxon was taken aback by the sudden change and found itself face to face with a completely different Luca.
Luca was quick and smooth in his movements; he blocked each of the Naxon's attacks with ease, grabbed its hand, and slung it into the mountain. He leaped into the air, calling forth matter with sound to walk on, and moved face to face with the Naxon. In one firm strike, he crushed the skull of the Naxon.
At the peak of anger and weakness, the Naxon fled. Luca went back down into the village and into the bunker, clearing unsafe conditions from within it.
Aiko burst out from the bunker, running to Luca and clenching tightly onto his body in a firm hug. With Luca now turning back, all armor and claws vanished, and he was returned to normal. Tired but relieved, he cast a weak smile at Aiko.
"You moron," Aiko cried as she clutched Luca's chest. "You really scared me."
As night began to set in, Luca leaped into the air, creating material beneath his feet to stand as if walking on air. Turning to Pyros, he asked, "Was that really me as a Symbiote?"
Pyros replied, "Yes. And now you know your power. It's telekinesis combined with sound manipulation. You don't have to snap your fingers when you're transformed because you can harness the ambient sound surrounding you."
Luca nodded, his voice laced with weariness and clarity. "The things I make with small sounds are weak, but I'll get better."
As Luca lands noiselessly onto the ground.
A gigantic Naxon now on his knees facing an unseen figure in a shroud.
