Luca woke up in the village, his friends all gathered around him, visibly worried. As he stirred, they immediately clung to him. "What happened? You'd been sleeping for ten days!"
"Ten. ten days?" Luca said, still groggy. "I've missed so much."
He fumbled with his head that was still throbbing, images racing before his eyes: the battle with the monster, Psyros appearing, and then. nothing. "I remember fighting the monster, but it's all foggy."
His friends nodded sympathetically. "Get some rest," they said, leaving him alone.
Once they were gone, Luca called out, "Psyros? Psyros, are you there?"
There was no response, but Luca felt a strange power coursing through his body. Days later, he returned to the dungeon to find that indeed he was stronger. He was quicker and his body lighter. With every punch, the walls cracked, yet still no sign of Psyros.
It had been twenty days since then, and Luca was clearing the dungeon every now and then until he perfected his style of battle. On one night, he dreamed eloquently that Psyros explained, "My body is weak. I still cannot form in the real world."
He woke up and exclaimed, "Psyros! Psyros!"
"I'm here, kid," Psyros replied, seemingly tired.
"What happened to you?" Luca asked.
"That place," Psyros started, "we need to go back there."
They came back to the site of their battle. There lay a mysterious place
Luca nodded. "Let's go in."
Gaining the stairs, with the door having two handles-one apparently for human use, the other for a Symbiote-they powered their powers into the handles. The door did not open. Luca sighed, "Maybe I'm too weak."
Suddenly, a strong energy coursed through Luca and ejected Psyros from his body. The pain in Luca's body stopped as he saw this odd energy enter Psyros. In a few seconds, Psyros was back inside Luca's body, but no sooner had he entered than Luca's body started shattering and bleeding.
Psyros burst forth again, in alarm. "Luca, you cannot support my full power. Your body is too weak. I will break you."
Kneeling, Luca said, "I know, I know."
Psyros ordered Luca to hand over his sword. Psyros colored the blade dark purple, putting more of his energy into it. "I put 80% of my power in this sword. Now we have to train your body."
Psyros entered again into Luca, and the young man felt an energy unlike any he had known before. "This is only 20%?".
Instead of swinging his sword, Luca focused on his new power. He extended his hand and nothing happened. "I don't get it, what powers do you have, Psyros?" Luca said. Psyros told him, "Listen to the sounds around you, feel how its touching your hand, feel that sound. Now imagine you hold that sound and then turn it into something.
The sounds around him danced on his fingertips. Luca imagined a sword in his hand, and one formed; he imagined a spear and a shield. "This is amazing-it didn't break this time, and it's a sword, not a rock," Luca said.
Psyros said, "make them invisible"
Luca said, "invisible?"
That's right, Psyros said.
It being invisible, in a poof the objects disappeared, yet he was holding onto something, "what is this" said luca
"Incredible," the words poured from Luca's lips because he couldn't think highly enough of his powers.
Psyros's voice in his mind: to unleash my power, you have to push yourself to the limit, both physically and mentally.
Luca nodded, his face setting in determination. "I understand. I will work harder. I have to be prepared for anything that is to happen to me."
Luca resumed his training now, in a different light. His journey wasn't over, but many more obstacles the dungeon had in store would no longer stand unbeaten.
Thus, Psyros, along with his determination, prepared Luca to go through trials with full awareness that every step ahead would lead him closer to realizing his complete potential.
